Buona Pizza

Nice and fresh pizza being made in front of your eyes. staff always smiling. Being a vegetarian, I ordered the veggie pizza. It was very fresh and all the ingredients were also very fresh. Overall five-star.

I'm going for five stars for the Buona Special pizza. Described as "everything we have on it, but let us know what you don't like." Terrific crust. Perfectly baked. Just really, really great old school pizza. I mean, look at the picture. You don't get pizza like this often. And I'm a New Yorker.

I wouldn't say Buona Pizza 🍕 is the greatest place to go to, if you want other pizza restaurants there's always some other places to decide from. But if you want ol' fashion restaurant that's been in business, then I would recommend to go to Buona Pizza 🍕 restaurant. That's on Lackawanna Avenue and South Washington Avenue Scranton Pa 18503 USA area.

Looking for a pair of late night slices. These guys went out of their way to take care of me.

Appreciate the vibe as all the other slice houses in town had shut down in the final hour and didn’t give a slice about what I needed.

Love Buona Pizza ( Lackawanna Ave ), the inside is totally old school, I can remember going here in the 70's & 2023 it looks identical, hats off for sticking to your roots!!! I love the Pizza at Buona, big fan, taste the same in 2023 as it did in the 70's!! Sauce is great, cheese is great, crispy crust, definitely a 5 from from me, all day long!!! Guys are always friendly, fast service !!!!

Great pizza. Been going here all my life (35 years) and i will be going there the rest of them no doubt. I have only ever gotten pizza and mozzarella sticks from here so i cannot recommend many items unfortunately. However, the pizza and mozzarella sticks are always delicious. I drive 20 minutes, to get to this place, rather then go the 7 minutes to several places closer to me. 😋🍕

This is some really good pizza, especially if you are looking for a round style instead of the square trays that are local to the area. I do love a square pizza as well, but when I am in the mood for a classic pie I go to Buona. My favorite part is the old arcade machines that they have still from the 80s/90s. Such an awesome feel and more pizza shops need to have those machines. If they ever get rid of them please contact me because I will happily take them. I would also definitely buy a shirt from here if they sell them. Great place overall~

Best New York style pizza around!

My friends and I were in town for the St. Patrick’s festivities and got in late from NYC. We were driving by and decided to stop in to get pizza. We ordered a pie to stay and it was amazing. Probably the best pizza I’ve had outside of New York City!

The best pizza, and the best meatball parm sandwiches in a 100 mile radius, period. The food is always hot, fresh, and consistent. Haters say what they will about the look of the building. Whether you live in the area, or are visiting, I highly recommend Buona, and I highly recommend the meatball sandwiches.

the first time i had tried buona pizza there was one man working all by himself that had made me two of the best slices i’ve ever had in the lil city scranton, and for that reason i decided i would always go there when i am visiting and want some good pizza.

upon returning with a friend i had hyped up the pizza too i was argued with by a rather disgruntled couch potato about the (nonexistent) debit card policy that had not been in effect the previous time (or have any signs for).

he had claimed to be the owner of this “successful” 50 year business and insisted that he would be punishing the previous woman who had assumed was working for processing my payment. when i explained to him that he would be punishing someone for something that they did not do, he blamed her anyway.

overall i would recommend buona pizza to others because it is has bold character and a unique work environment if you happen to be employed there.

I'm from New York. And when I say this pizza is the best I've ever tasted I mean it! The service is beyond measurable. I highly recommend this place. You know how they always say the little hole-in-the-wall has the best food? This is the place! They also say that Old Forge is the pizza capital of the world. I strongly disagree. This place is the pizza capital of the world! I was quite disappointed that they no longer use Grub hub for delivery anymore. Such a shame.

Delicious round pizza. I grew up eating here in the 70's. And, when me and my wife have our grandson over for the weekend, I always order 2 large rounds, 1 plain, and 1 with pepperoni, sausage, and onions. And my grandson loves it. I am very happy now he gets to enjoy this pizza like I did when I was a kid.

Excellent food! Pizza was as good as when I was in NYC last year. A gem of a place, love going there when downtown. Would recommend it to anyone who wants great food at a reasonable price, also appeared very clean. Place also has pinball and arcade games lol, I felt like I was in a pizza parlor from childhood .
