The Back Porch

My experience at Back Porch was great. My server was very attentive and checked on me often. I ordered the hush puppies, watermelon dream, and crab stuff shrimp. My drink was really good and refreshing. If you like sweet drinks, then you'll really like this one. I truly want more hush puppies as I'm typing this. The dipping sauce that they give you along with butter really adds to the flavor (remember to shake it up). This dish was honestly my favorite part. I originally thought that the crab stuffed shrimp wasn't gonna be enough food. I was so stuffed after the hush puppies and then the fourth shrimp out of 8. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Sidenote: It was a slightly chilly January afternoon, but the way the sun beamed onto the back porch. It did not feel cold at all. You felt the warmth of the sun, which was very comforting

This place is awesome! We were trying to go to McGuire’s but it was full, so we came here. LOOK… I hate coleslaw… like for real, I don’t like it. This is the best damn coleslaw I’ve ever had. NO WAY. I don’t even eat it, I request they don’t give it to me at every restaurant. I come to find out they make pretty much everything from scratch at this place and it shows. You should give this place a shot, the food was great OVERALL… highly recommended. We were sitting by the beach, and regretted not coming by earlier. You should try this place, you won’t be disappointed. Cheers!

Great location next to the Gulf. We sat out on the back deck and even had a dolphin sighting.

The food was delicious, service was excellent, staff was friendly.

Try the fish and chips, fried green tomatoes, gumbo and corn chowder. Nice beverage selection too.

The Back Porch sits right on the beach in Destin. Whatever the inside may lack in character, the view from the outside dining area more than makes up for. The food was fabulous! My shrimp and corn chowder was tasty and the dip was amazing. I ordered Salmon Florentine and it was bursting with flavor. No complaints!!

My husband and I enjoyed the fish dip and crackers, and the blackened mahi fish tacos. We ate at the bar so we didn’t have to wait for seating at a table. Joey, our server, was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere!

Great food, nice atmosphere, and beautiful views of the beach ⛱ . We really enjoyed the Firecracker Shrimp and Amberjack Paradise with the twice baked potato during our last visit in October 2023. Great portion sizes and enough to share if you choose. I also tried the Virgin Peach Daiquiri with whipped cream and a cherry on top 😋. It was soooo good and perfect for the sunny day.

Our server, Jennifer, was also very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and super helpful. She provided great service during our visit.

I highly recommend if you're in the Destin area. Great food, drinks and a beautiful view awaits.

This is a wonderful seafood restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach. They have an extensive seafood menu with many delicious options. They offer both inside and outside dining, and I definitely recommend sitting outside. They have a nice cocktail menu, too.

Fresh seafood joint with an amazing view!!! The red snapper melted in my mouth. And the Mahi Mahi fish tacos were to die for. The lemon dill rice is simply the best rice I've had. Drinks were a bit on the sweeter side for us. The blackened Mahi lunch special served during the week was so delicious. Oysters on the half shell go down smooth. It was definitely one of the top 3 restaurants for us in Destin on the beach. That ocean view will leave you mesmerized. Highly recommend! They're also one of the first spots to have opened in the area.

I came in for happy hour and stayed for dinner. I met Larry from Michigan at the bar and a few people from Ohio that added to the friendly atmosphere. My happy hour margarita was well balanced and served fast! I never had to wait on a drink or water, the service was quick and attentive. Happy hour is from 3pm to 5pm everyday!

I ordered one of the fish sandwiches, bronzed, and it came with two sides. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of food I received. Everything tasted pretty good. I enjoyed my time and would definitely stop by again.

There are TVs around the bar area for watching sports. You can see people walking on the beach and feel the breeze hear the ocean waves come in when all the windows are open.

I heard The Back Porch is the only bar on the beach. There are other bar/restaurants in the harbor/Marina area. You can watch the sunset from the bar or outside seating. This should be a popular stop whenever in Destin.

Parking is free across the street from the restaurant. And there are plenty of parking spaces. The location is on restaurant row, so it's easy to find.

We enjoyed, Firecracker Shrimp 🍤 (You can’t stop eating it!) and Green tomatoes fried 🍅 OMG! ..Grouper Destin 🐟 the sauce!, and Fischerman’s Trio, three delicious pieces of different fish… delicious!!...
Absolutely I want to come back!

We had an absolutely delicious lunch today. Crab bites, chicken & fish tacos.
It was all really yummy, the service was lovely & the view, well the photo says it all.

One of our favorite places to eat. The Florida sunshine cake is orange cake with layered orange mousse and covered with white chocolate icing. Fabulous! I get the child's grilled fish and mashed potatoes to save room for this dessert every time. The child's plate is served on a frisbee.
My husband got the grouper and 2 of the twice baked potatoes. The grouper is a local fish. He has it blackened. The portions are large and the taste is amazing.
I also love the fish tacos here.

Timeless is the best way. Delicious as always. Even when it's crowded, it's still a great spot.

Pro tip: the bar is first come open seating with the full menu (and the bartenders are great, especially Cory!)

Our server, Kiki was great. She made great suggestions. Loved shrimp and corn chowder!! Portions are huge. The view was amazing.

The food was amazing!!! I don’t usually post reviews but I felt like I needed to say how amazing the food was here. Tried the snapper and the grouper and both fishes were so delicious. It’s a plus that this restaurant is also on the beach so you get a beautiful view while you eat. Definitely recommend!

Our first visit was delightful and the food was delicious! I was wanting crab cakes and I’m so glad we went here they made my mouth slap happy 😬. Hope to go back to Destin and will definitely eat there.

Delicious dinner. Shay is a great server. Enjoyed the crab bites, mahi, and especially enjoyed the orange cake and key lime pie.

We absolutely love everything about this place! The meals are great! Huge plates that you could even share. Their seafood was on point! Drinks were yummy! Our food was so quick and our server was really friendly and helpful!

We go here once a year. Love the views. Mahi and twice baked potato are my favorite. The broiled platter is great! The Coco Bana is a fantastic drink!😋
