Curry Hammock State Park Trail

This was an amazing hike! Reminded us of something out of Indiana Jones. We saw lots of wildlife but not a single other human. Be mindful of the tide. We ended up treading through 4" of water for a short section by the trailhead.

One of the best nature trails in the Keys, of which there are very few. Good example of the natural Keys before they were "developed." A nice 1.5 mile walk along mainly flat dirt and rock terrain. Watch out for the roots on the trail. Mainly shaded path but can get hot in the summer months. Great place for kids to run around.

We enjoyed this hike. While it says “level” you are continually stepping over cool rocks and roots all the while ducking through the palm fronds. Bench at the waterfront look out was a very beautiful and peaceful setting.

This delightful trail winds around the hammock displaying a wide variety of plants and trees only possible where it never freezes and is always wet. From a variety of palms and cactus, there are beautiful plants packed together along the trail. This is a heads down trail, meaning you need to watch your step among chunks of coral and tree roots. Stop every few feet and look up at the canopy. You will see a wonderful diversity of trees competing for sunlight. At one point, the forest opens for a view of the bay. A bench encourages you to sit and enjoy the view.

Wonderful way to see and feel the coral limestone that's talked about in the Keys. The overlook was right at the water and was very calming and peaceful.

Be mindful of the cacti on the trail 🌵

Trail is not flat. Wear decent shoes because you will be navigating a coral and root walkway. Peaceful bench in the shade on the lookout. Lovely Keys walk.

Nice walking trail. There’s a picnic table near the water where we sat and ate lunch. It was very relaxing. It feels like your walking in a little jungle.

Curry Hammock bayside nature trail is a overlooked GEM! Thatch palms and low elevation hardwoods grow on ancient coral rock and the diversity is amazing. Well worth a visit

Very nice trails with a lot of hidden gems to find. We love wandering the trails, reading about the nature of the Keys and finding a nice quiet swimming hole.

On the trails, especially near sunset or sun rise make sure to have "no see um" spray bug spray. Like Off Botanical or something similar. Beautiful area!

In low tide is a perfect place to kiteboarding in high tide the wind make the water to choppi , if you want to learn kiteboarding you need to get in touch with windstalkers kiteboarding ,
