Merhaba Restaurant

Stopped by this restaurant on a whim. It was well worth it. The food was delicious and service was great.

I discovered this place at the “Festival of Nations” last year and was immediately blown away. Discovered when searching for them, that they were close to me!

Finally got the chance to try it, for takeout a few months ago. I ate it so quickly I didn’t get a chance to take a photo! Went there again recently and remembered to snap a photo.

Their sambusa is really good. The dried spices that come with it are just as good, and have a little kick to them. Get them!

Got the chicken tibbs and lamb (kelwa begged). It’s authentic, delicious, and LARGE portions!

Merhaba will now forever be on my list of go to places in U-City. If you haven’t been here, take the risk and go; you won’t be disappointed!

Best jerk chicken and red snapper in the city. Rasta John is so kind and the food does not miss!

The food is absolutely amazing!! Full of flavor. My favorite ethnic restaurant in STL area. The food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait atleast 25 minutes for your food. We always get the sambusas and lentil soup as an appetizer to hold us over. Vegan friendly. The owner is awesome, we have become very friendly with him! We have the jukebox bumpin tunes every time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 😋

A very nice place for Ethiopian food. The owner is very friendly and the food is very good. A place to go if you want to experience Ethiopian food in St. Louis.

I learned of this restaurant via Google. I spent the day in STL and was looking for a different Ethiopian restaurant to try. The usual place has ups and downs with the quality of their food. I was happy to try the food here!

I ordered the vegan Ethiopian plate and my tastebuds SANG! I ordered the Jamaican vegan plate to go. The service was great. Background music was a whole vibe.

I look forward to my next visit.

We have been to the restaurant twice now and both times the food was absolutely amazing! We hosted a family event of about 30 people and the food did not disappoint! Everything was on point, the service was great! The staff kept checking up on us and topping up the food without us asking. We had brought our own decorations as well and they were okay with us setting them up as well.

Good food. Good service. Friendly staff. Took mother for a meal, she loved it, ate everything which is awesome as she is a picky eater.

Came here after wanting to try it for the last couple years and ended up being Jamaican night (Wednesday) and I don’t eat meat so I asked the gentleman cooking if they had anything without meat and he brought me a huge tray of cabbage and vegetables that was rock my world amazing to my surprise. The food here is top notch and the the service was friendly and fast. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. On top of everything he wouldn’t charge me and even when I tried to give him money he refused to take it. Sweet sweet man and I can’t recommend this place enough. I will be back, again and again.

This food is soooo good! Every time! The meat is tender and beautifully spiced. The vegetables are always the right level of cooked and seasoned just right. The portions are incredibly generous -- I always know I'm getting 2 meals when I order one dish.

I often share images with my reviews, except every time I'm here, I dive into the food before I get the chance! Oops.

Nic (the owner?) is always incredibly welcoming and patiently explains various menu items to anyone who asks. Also, they don't cook any vegetable items in meat, so I feel comfortable bringing my special diet (vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant, limited ingredient, etc.) friends because there's typically something for everyone.

Highly recommend!

Amazing food. People were so nice. I tried their jamaican fish soup and the lamb meal with the bread.

I have truly enjoyed the lamb curry at this place. It reminds of the food in India and authentic spices. I have enjoyed their curries and Samosa's. Their Nigerian Bread is awsome. I have been going there for many years and finally got around to write this review and they deserve it. It is worth a try food cooked fresh and served hot. Mouth watering aroma!

I've been coming here for years and can not say enough good things about this place. The food is delicious and always a satisfyingly large portion, the owner is always attentive and happy to make suggestions on dishes to try and put together a full plate of meats and veggies to try. I personally love the collard greens, lentils, and beef tibs - all must haves if you pay Mherhaba a much deserved visit. A staple of my St. Louis dining experience, I can't recommend it highly enough.

My wife and I ate here today. Great food! We left full and satisfied. They have Jamaican food every Wednesday. I feel with more advertising. This place would grow. Again loved the food!

Great food and beer! We came on a Wednesday- Jamaican night- and it was awesome! The jerk chicken was killer and the beer was awesome too. Awesome service. We will be back! Thank you!

We have went there twice now and the food was great both days. The owner cooked our food the first time on Tuesday and then we came back Wednesday for Reggae night and was served Jamaican food. On Tuesday, Nick cooked a vegetable sambusa and chickpea dish for me and a meat sambusa and vegetable combination plate for my other half. Wednesday, Paul cook rice and cabbage for me and Red Snapper, rice and cabbage for my other half. The atmosphere was nice. They played music and the regulars danced. Paul makes the Rum punch and it is great so i have been told. I don't drink alcohol.

I had the pleasure of dining with a friend and the food was excellent. The service was great as well. The vegetarian sampler will be my go to meal when I need to eat out.

Very delicious and authentic. Super friendly service, great affordable food. And I love the fact that there are no silverware, it makes it an experience. We will be back!
