This park has endless places to explore and an abundance of wildlife. We went paddle boating on Lake 35 and the kids had a blast!
The visitor center has a flower garden in the entrance that attracts butterflies. They also have native wildlife on display. There's something for everyone, and I would highly recommend.

Schedule pick up for loaner trap. Customer Service was very accurate with directions. Received instructions & other resources of where to release trap ground hogs or possums. I was even granted an extended period which was truly needed. Return cage in good condition & received my deposit check. Haven't seen any new families so far..thanks Mo. This is a beautiful area with over 30 lakes, which offers a diverse range of recreational activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and bird watching. There are still about 100 WWII TNT storage bunkers in the area, and those were fun to see! August A Busch Memorial Conservation Area is a great place to enjoy nature!

It is very beautiful out there ... Especially, at sunset and after. The only problem that I experienced was that, at the Sky Observatory Area, there was another vehicle (a white car) that pulled up to the parking section. And they blasted their music. And had their headlights on the full time they were there. Inconciderate. And rude.

I have grown up going here with my siblings and dad, and as a dad, I love the fact that I can spend time with my kids here. It has tons of fishing places, and a few places you can just walk and enjoy nature! It's really beautiful!

Such a beautiful place to spend the day with family. So much to explore. The property is large enough to not feel crowded and there are many turn offs to different zones. Great place to hike or picnic.

Cool place! Didn’t explore a lot. There’s a ton of “lakes” I just drove to one and had my own private little area to hang out and enjoy some sunlight. A little confusing though… I drive down a gravel road for a very long time before I found my way out of the area

Very nice to have a conservation area so close to home. Packed a picnic with the kids then went into the nature center. They are always so nice and welcoming. On the way in we saw a black rat snake in the vegetation.

It was so peaceful, sitting by the lake in my chair fishing, dog laying by my side covered up. Behind me, wildlife approaches crunching the fallen autumn leaves with every step. Tried to see what it was without moving too much, didn't see what it was, buy the crunching continued on and off. Then I hear a buck calling his mate... The call that seemingly was answering sounded a lot different, but was so cool just to listen too.
I love going to Busch Wildlife for experiences like those. Another time, bobber fishing, I got to see a beaver swim less than 20 feet from what I was sitting... So awesome! There is not another activity I would rather do!
In one of the pictures, I caught a turtle and the hound that's it was cool. When it ran into the water she went wading in trying to save it from the water. In the picture, after the muck settled in the water, the turtle was right underneath where she was standing!

We had our church group at a private lake. What a exciting time for the children to be able to catch so many fish!

It's nearly 7000 acres of lush beauty and while that may mean ticks in some areas it's worth the hassle and risk! If you enjoy the outdoors in terms of hunting or fishing then this is certainly a place for you. As an out of towner I was happy to spend a few days getting to know some of the less tredded upon areas, happy to meet warm locals, and appreciated the hidden areas.

To those who don't know the Bunkers were used for the storage of TNT during world war 2. With that in mind agger you've enjoyed the auto tour or have had wild time on the bike trails, apreciate the history that fuses wonderfully with this conservation area.

I fish BWL a lot. There are plenty of fish to go around. Sizes vary, but there are big ones out there. Of course, the lakes are fished hard due to their proximity to St. Louis. I still enjoy just spending time outdoors.
