King's Restaurant

Every time I work in Kinston, I swing by for the special. First of all, I noticed they changed their hours again and reopened on Monday’s. I always go thru drive thru. On the first day I had beef tips over rice which is listed as a special 3x in a week. I do wish they had more variety in the special of the day. I tried the bone-out fried chicken breast and it was just ok. I couldn’t understand why such a term was used on a menu. Either it’s cooked on the bone or you buy a boneless filet. Not sure why the felt the need to give you the same breast and just pull the bone off for you as if I’m not capable of doing that. Must be a local term. They serve the best homemade creamed potatoes and the cabbage always seasoned well. The side portions should be larger. I didn’t give 5 stars for service because the cashier forgot to give me my drink and I had to return to the restaurant.

This establishment is amazing. The food was great. Great customer service. I will suggest this place if you want some good ol home feeling food. The next time I am in town, I will be stopping by. Take care and be blessed everyone…

No frills bbq place. Place order at counter, cash only, they bring it to your table. Generous portions. A bowl of Brunswick stew is a pint container. Bbq is very tasty, not too vinegary. Hush puppies are great.

The food was phenomenal and the pumpkin pie was off the charts!! Super reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

A Terrific Meal!
I drove through today, about 1:30pm, I think. I've never been to a King's BBQ before, and rarely eat pork (I eat Texas beef bbq... confused this pork had great flavor, but no red sauce! Ha!)

My receipt says Kristin B, but not sure if that's who so kindly helped me with my Pig in a Pup combo order... which we decided to have slaw on the side, and was a great end result. I had potato salad on the side with hush puppies. And went with the default sweet tea... I normally drink regular iced tea... the kind without sugar. She could have been exasperated, but instead was really helpful.

Amused that the slaw was diced, the h.puppies were white corn, and the pork wasn't sauced... all part of the experience, and not in a bad way, at all. I enjoy trying different local specialties.

The sandwich was terrific! It was a really great stop on my trip. The sweat (with tea) lasted 5hours... a little dab 'll do ya!

I'm really glad I stopped... and even shared this photo with multiple family members, states away.

I like everything about this spot, except for the limited pork-free options and the size of that fish sandwich 🫣 But, they make up for it with those hush puppies.

This is my go to BBQ store on the way through town.

Loved the bbq sandwich with sides order of yams and hush puppies. A lot of different side dishes to choose from.

I have received the best customer service at this kings that I have ever gotten anywhere ...my grand daughter and I go at least 3 times a week to get tea and we eat there at least once a week. Coco the employ working there is the best she goes above and beyond .. she is awesome please keep her.

Yall let me tell you!!! Best place ever! Service is amazing the lady was so helpful with making sure we got the best deal for our group of 7! Which we we feed for under $50 and the food was amazing! It's not often you find such a good deal and good quality so if your in Kinston this is the place to stop by!

Me and my husband James , enjoy coming here. We try to come as often as we can. We live, North of Greenville . One of our favorite staff is Ms Kokelia Barnes.She always gives us a warm welcome and makes us want to come back for more. She is a great P.R. Person for King's. When we get there and see her smile and taste that great fried chicken, we am fine. She knows we like our chicken fried hard. I want to thank all the staff for all their hard and diligent work. One the first places I go to eat while I am on vacation. Look forward to it every year. Always the best!

They catered our company lunch once for a business trip and it was the best fried chicken I have ever had in my entire life. Everybody at work was in shock by how good it was. Everything else was good, but that fried chicken, whew! Can't wait to go back.

We love Kings! The food is great and the food comes out fast, and the people are very friendly! 10/10 recommend

Called in and picked up at the drive-thru. Chicken, yams, collards, and a side of gizzards. Those collards were as good as my mama's. The meal was absolutely fantastic. My 1yr old grandson ate himself into a food coma. Never seen a baby go so crazy over collards before.

It was very busy. We got our order in a timely manner. The staff is very friendly.

My friend Sonia is the manager there and they have the best food and we'll cook it the way that you want it cooked. I highly recommend their fried okra and their collards well really I recommend everything. Go and enjoy the experience for yourself :-)
