Twisted Oak American Bar & Grill

We got seated in the outdoor area right away. I had a seasonal local draft beer that was excellent. I had shrimp and grits, where the grits were in cake form like crab cakes, and boy it was phenomenal. I can't wait to go back and have it again. Wife had Mushroom Asiago Chicken. It was prepared perfectly. The server was friendly and efficient. Did I mention how much I loved the shrimp and grits?

All the way around, just good food. Firecracker shrimp was a delicious surprise, and I wasn't expecting it to be as good as ut was. The pork chop was sweet and tender the sides equally as good. Cheese cake is a must.

This hidden gem we just revisted and oh so happy we did. Top notch & something we both commented on is the laid back class, unrushed, excellent on all points. First meal of our anniversary trip and a very good start.

Lovely environment at this cute place. Great menu and drink selection. The food was just a bit rich in flavor for my taste, but the service was excellent and the desserts looked amazing!

Beautiful building, and location. Incredible atmosphere. Food and drinks were made to protection.

Cool vibe to the place. I sat at the bar. Mike, the bartender, was excellent: friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. When i asked for a wine pairing suggestion to go with the appetizer, he gave me a few suggestions as well why as a quick explanation as to why they would pair well. 👍 Food was good. The Drink menu was well balanced and extensive, going deep in bourbons, which i was pleasantly surprised with, but also covering all bases, including beers, wines, and cocktails.

Try the gingerbread man cocktail if you're stopping in, its seasonal because of the liqueur type, so don't miss out!

Shrimp and grits were really great. I don't normally do spicy foods, and this is a bit spicy, but enjoyably so! I mention it because it's such a difficult balance to achieve but they did it with style and perfection. Went perfectly with a cold beer 🍻🤣

One of the best restaurants in the Statesville/Mooresville Area. Everything tastes really good. Also a great selection of beer. Seared Ahi Tuna, Firecracker shrimp, Fried green tomatoes are fantastic and you must try.

2023 Update: unfortunately the portion of trout got cut in half. You used to get a
Whole fish, two fillets, but now you get one fillet. The lack of scallops is very sad as they were great in the past.

We’ve eaten here many times and enjoyed it. After tonight-we probably won’t be back. Server didn’t seem to want to be here. Wasn’t clear and definitely didn’t come back to our table to see if we needed anything. I would have ordered more wine and dessert but wasn’t given the option. He just put the bill on the table and left. My husband ordered a ribeye but received a New York strip. I ordered the shrimp and grits-which was ok. The firecracker shrimp were very good. But overall-not the restaurant we’ve enjoyed in the past.

Was pleasantly surprised at how great Twisted oak was in all aspects. Here in Statesville on a business trip. I would definitely recommend 👌 Had the millionaire meatloaf.

A pretty restaurant situated in one of the loveliest towns in North Carolina at the junction of Interstates 40 & 77.
Lovely ambience and terrific cooking served up by friendly and efficient staff. Fabulous wines on tap and some delicious North Carolina locally-crafted beers.
I haven't been down this way since before the COVID restrictions and it is a pleasure to drive into town and dine here. The Grit cakes and shrimp was a MASSIVE portion of deliciousness....enough for TWO!!!!

I was in town for a work trip and we were looking for something local.. this place fit the bill! Prices and beer selection were nice. The menu has pre selected sides for many entrees but no issues with swapping. I had the new york strip medium rare with grilled asparagus and Mac. The Mac was very creamy and delicious. The steak was done perfectly and I enjoyed the heavy pepper rub. The asparagus was good and cooked well, but 5$ for the 5 pieces seemed a little high. My coworker tried the pimento burger and was impressed, albeit a bit messy.

I had the NY strip and it was excellent. My wife had the filet and it was excellent as well. I tried a couple of brews which were very good as well. This place is a hidden gem. Scotch & bourbon selections are good and I had a great, aged tawny port.

Pleasantly suprised with the blackened meatloaf sandwich and the fries came out hot. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Everybody's food was very good, I had the Cajun pasta which was excellent and my daughter's gluten free pasta dish was also very good. The beer selection was excellent with alot of local NC beers on tap. Our server was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Went to Dinner here with my husband sister and brother in law really enjoyed it the food was amazing loved and enjoyed the meal. The waitress was very nice the chef out did him or her self..

Perfect date night! Second time here. Something for everybody. Mediterranean salad was delicious! Full bar. Lots of beers on tap and wine for any taste. A little too pricey for everyday, but I will definitely come back!

This restaurant has a unique decor that blends a rustic feeling with a brick, industrial feel. It's different, but it REALLY works. A very welcoming atmosphere and a fantastic selection.

We started the meal with fried green tomatoes. I don't care for the dish in general, but my companions enjoy fried green tomatoes and were particularly impressed by these. Although not my style, the presentation was superb and I'm told they are delicious.

The steak was fantastic. Perfectly seasoned and complimented well by a salad and potatoes. I ordered the Twisted Cajun Pasta and was blown away. I added shrimp and it was perfect. The green peppers and the Cajun sauce on the noodles was truly exquisite.

To close things out, we got a chocolate cake that was rather exhilarating. The moist layers of chocolate were ravishing and it was a fantastic way to conclude a meal, and complete the night

Absolutely amazing from top to bottom. Our server, Casey, was so helpful assisting us in deciding a drink, meal, and dessert and everything was off the charts, unbelievable. The atmosphere is awesome with laid-back and upscale feel that was acceptable for shorts to suits. I am not a foodie and really try not to obsess about food, BUT, this was one of the best meals I have ever had. DO NO MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! Huge thanks to Casey for making this memorable.

Four of us went for late lunch mid-week. Service was friendly and efficient. We got different meals, some salads, one soup, some traditional, some inventive. Everything was delicious. Splitting the check 50/50 was easy-peazy. Would go again for sure, and recommend it easily.

Quality food and a good selection of drinks. I ordered the Cajun pasta and it was delicious. The sauce was creamy and the chicken is well seasoned. The deviled eggs are also very interesting because they are breaded and deep fried. A great place for a nice dinner with friends or coworkers.
