Lake Thom-A-Lex Park

We came here to kayak Lake Thom-A-Lex. Nice size lake with little boat traffic, mostly fishing boats. There is a boat ramp for trailers and a small beach put in for kayaks. Small fee of $4 for launching a kayak. Good size parking and no frills bathroom. There is a park across the street that may have better bathrooms especially for small children. Friendly and helpful customer service.

Great park. If you walk all the way down the trail you will come to an opening with a view across the lake, you will see a bald eagle nest in the tree across the lake. And, if you sit there long enough, you will see them coming and going from the nest. Really great experience!

If you live in the triad area you definitely should come out to this beautiful lake . It also has a big playground for the kids and shelters for great birthday parties, and fishing. It’s beautiful park . They do have two or 3 piers you can walk and fish on and picnic tables to have a nice lunch . They dint allow electric scooters bc we tried and they said it wasn’t allowed so if you happen to take yours I suggest you leave it home . Over all one of my favorite places .

Very nice little spot for family picnic, bbq, and fishing. I really liked how close the office is to all the shelters incase you need anything.
Must go and have fun. Beware, there might be snakes. A person saw a baby copperhead today while we were there. Everyone got freaked out but it didnt show up again.

There is a lot to do at this park. Boating, kayaking/canoeing, fishing, trail walking, and a fun playground area for kids. Today my family enjoyed walking the trail and playing on the playground.

Very nice park with the cleanest restrooms I have EVER seen at a park. Plenty of picnic tables and cookout spots. 3 different fishing piers and lots of shore lines for fishing and feeding ducks and geese. Large playground. Gates close at 5

Great place to go spend the afternoon, to relax and get some good fresh air for your lungs, it's very enjoyable, to eat , or sit with someone and chat about life. I recommend this place. Pretty view. Feels comfortable. It has a park for the kids. I like it

This is a beautiful spot for a relaxing day out! Perfect for riding in your boat, feeding the ducks, or standing on the pier soaking up the sun! There is a nice playground for kids and plenty of area to go walking! Also a great place to grill out! I do hate they close so early in the evenings.

Favorite 🐠🐟 lake not far from home. I was concerned that the store was not no longer selling live bait. Had to drive way down #8 to get live bait.

Playground is nice but so hot when the sun is out. Bathroom facilities are fine, it’s nice to have them.

This is a nice park. The playground looks nice lots of tables and some grills. On shore fishing is my thing.

Lake Thom-A-Lex offers a great playground for kids, boat slips and enough parking for trucks and trailers, pavilions and tables, grills, and nice bathrooms. Perfect for family picnics or some easy day fishing. Enjoy the fresh air.

Very calm and relaxing location, complete with a playground, fishing piers (4), bate/tackle shop, covered picnic tables, multiple drinking fountains, and a decent walking trail.

Closes to the public at 8:30 PM, but otherwise is a wonderful place to relax, especially on weekdays.

Very clean and friendly staff. This was my first time here and I really enjoyed fishing here.

Enjoyed the lake and trail, though it was muddy. Playground for kids, shelters for gatherings, observation decks, benches to sit, take in the views.

Really a wonderful place to take it easy and enjoy what nature has to offer.

VERY BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXING AND WE LOVE FEEDING THE DUCKS AND FISHING SOMETIMES AND IT'S A GOOD PLACE TO TAKE YOUR FAMILY JUST TO SPEND THE DAY AT THE LAKE AND HAVE A PICNIC AND JUST ENJOY LIFE <3

Loved this place. Very peaceful and clean. Wish they had camping there. Nice place for the family and picnic!
