Had an amazing time here with my wife. Very quiet and beautiful. The temple on the property is incredible. The goats are adorable. We can't wait to go back.

A phenomenal healing sanctuary the owner Reva takes great care of you. Her energy healing session was quite profound for me. I've been a believer and guest for 20yrs now!!!!

The location is absolutely breathtaking! We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Reva has thought of all the tiny details to make your stay relaxing and peaceful. The “Angels Nest” had fresh linens, stocked wood, a spice cabinet, an umbrella, a CD player, an assortment of books/magazines, and a flashlight (among other things). What more could you need???
We felt like our privacy was respected, but also met another likeminded couple to share the community fireplace with.
We also had massages with Grace who goes ABOVE AND BEYOND. She listens to your body and does not go through the motions. She is a true healer ❤
We plan to return ASAP to enjoy more spa services, animal companionship and appreciate Mother Nature in such a grand display of beauty.

I did a solo spiritual retreat in the inner quest room. The grounds are stunning. Reva is a really sweet and gifted healer. It is clear that she puts a lot of thought to ensure that the people who stay have everything they need. If you’re looking for a getaway the grounds are perfect. If you’re looking for healing work, Reva and the staff are absolutely amazing. I will definitely be returning.

Compassionate Expressions is the most amazing, beautiful place in the mountains! The innkeeper Reva is a very empathetic wonderful person who clearly goes out of her way to make certain you have the best experience. I stayed over 15 years ago and this time it was more peaceful than ever! I had a 90 minutes massage by Beth who was excellent and took the time to listen to my concerns and was able to make me feel a thousand times better! The grounds are immaculate, the Temple is stunning, inside and out. The rooms are comfortable, sparkling clean and lovely. TOTAL TRANQUILITY, PEACE and I will return as soon as possible!! I truly love this place and all that is offers.

From the moment my husband and arrived at Reva's gorgeous property, we knew this experience would last a lifetime. The view alone will take your breath away and better yet, it was just right outside of our charming cabin.

Along with the one of a kind view, we also enjoyed reading by the peaceful brook that ran alongside the property. Truth be told, no matter where you decided to spend your time there, you were guaranteed to find peace.

Reva's hospitality also knew no limits. The ability to enjoy some of the fresh eggs layed by her hens, made us feel right at home. It was also nice to spend time feeding her adorable pot bellied pig and playful pair of goats.

I will end by saying that my husband and I will definitely be back there sooner than later. It is very difficult to locate such a special & meaningful place to spend time with your loved ones, so if that's what you're after, then look no further. In the end, you will only wish that you were there longer!

I have been returning to Compassionate Expressions every year for the past six years!! The staff, the accommodations, the service, and the respect for privacy are impeccable!! As a massage therapist I love returning here every year to unplug, rejuvenate, and rewind! The owner Reva always goes above and beyond to make your visit totally stress-free and the bodywork services are AAA+!! Reva is truly a healers healer! The location is great too! Only about 20 minutes west of Asheville and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Chimney Rock and more hiking trails than you could hike in a lifetime, all adding up to paradise in my book!!!

This is my favorite piece of the planet. Reva has worked very hard to make this sacred place amazing. My husband and our son and I have been here 3 or 4 times and we want everyone we know to experience it. The cabins are clean, spacious, relaxing, amazing with great rates. The view, hiking, wildlife...you'll fall in love, guaranteed. We almost always elect to stay another night because it's so hard to leave! We will be back soon Reva!

Compassionate Expressions was just what my family needed after a crazy year - time to unplug and unwind in a beautiful, serene mountain setting with some animal (and human!) friends. We really enjoyed our stay in the Field of Dreams Inn Room (definitely recommend shopping for groceries and making some meals in advance though as there is no stove in that particular room), the beautiful outdoor hot tub and meditation island, the cute sanctuary animals and wonderful sound healing with Estaryia Venus. We ended up doing two sound healing sessions and left feeling extremely relaxed and refreshed. I have done sound baths before with Tibetan singing bowls and gongs but Estaryia's sessions were definitely the best I have ever experienced. We can't wait to make it back!

Reva was fantastic and made us feel right at home. It was quiet, the views were phenomenal and it wasn't far away from town but felt a million miles away from anything. I was able to tap into a part of myself that is hard to do when surrounded with so much stimuli. A welcomed trip to restore and revive with a good friend.

We reserved Reva’s place for our daughters wedding and it was perfect. Reva was the perfect host and the grounds and views were beautiful. We had an amazing time and would recommend Compassionate Expressions to anyone.

I have been coming to Compassionate Expressions for about 5 years now, for sessions with Reva. She was highly recommended to me by another Barbara Brennan School of Healing graduate when I moved closer to Asheville. The transformation that has occurred within me through my sessions with Reva has been unexpected but nothing short of profound.
Over the years, during my many visits to Compassionate Expressions, I have found it to be a peaceful and serene. I had the opportunity to attend a retreat there this past summer for 4 days and really enjoyed my time on the property. The temple is aesthetically lovely, and when you walk inside, you can feel something sacred. My accomodations at the main house were spacious, clean, and comfortable.
I highly recommend Reva as a healer and Compassionate Expressions a a place to go to re-center and relax.

We stayed two nights for our anniversary and it was wonderful. The cabins are beautiful and we couldn't hear our neighbors at all. The grounds are gorgeous and the spa services wonderful. The only problem we had at all was mostly our fault. There is no cell service and we forgot to print directions back to the freeway, so we got a little bit lost leaving. GPS worked to get us there (using Waze, we're told not all of them work) but we couldn't get a signal to get out until we were already a bit lost. So we had a little adventure. :)

Compassionate Expressions is a beautiful and magical place! This is where I go to relax. The surroundings are peaceful, the accommodations are clean and the view is breathtaking! Reva is an amazing soul who offers energy healings that are transforming and a space to reconnect with the natural world. I can't wait to return!

This peacefulness of this place is unlike any other. It is the perfect getaway close enough to Asheville to see the sights and yet far away enough to allow for a much needed time out. It is only about 30-45 minutes away from the Biltmore but also in a world of its own. The rooms are quaint and super comfortable and the hot tub under the stars is amazing. And amazing isn't even the beginning to describe the friendly and gifted owners. You are doing yourself a terrible disservice by not staying here the next time you are nearby. We have stayed several times and will definitely be back!

My wife and I rented out the property for the weekend for our wedding. Not only did we have our ceremony and reception there, but we also housed our wedding party for the weekend. The beauty and tranquility of the property is beyond words. The cabins included all of the amenities one would need--we even used the kitchens (along with the outdoor kitchen) for wedding food prep! Reva and Lenora were extremely gracious and accomodating throughout our whole planning process and during the weekend itself. We couldn't have picked a better venue, and will be back for anniversaries to come.

Absolute tranquility - The peace in this sacred place rejuvenated us. We listened to the sounds of birdsong, wind through trees, a babbling creek, and took time to watch interactions between insects. It took us several days to calm down from our “normal” react-to-stimuli hectic mode, and the next time we come to Compassionate Expressions, we will stay longer than ten days. We bought groceries at Earth Fare on the road up from Asheville and cooked our meals in “Spirit Creek” cabin’s wonderful kitchen. We often ate at the top of the hill under the pavilion by the meditation island. We hung our hammock in the shade by the creek and spent hours reading, talking, or soaking in the silence. Note that there is no telephone, TV or Internet reception here. This is a retreat from all that input.

Energy Healing - Reva facilitated the first energy healing we had ever experienced. I relaxed on a table under a blanket for an hour and a half and nearly went to sleep. Afterwards, Reva offered profoundly personal insights to me. I felt newly awakened & deeply happy; it’s hard to explain. I was worried that once we returned to regular life with work and children and chores, my newfound insights and grounding and peace would dissolve. Just the opposite occurred. In the weeks since we left Compassionate Expressions, my calm continues to increase. The people in my life seem happier. I have shifted from wired and tired to peaceful and awake.

We have visited this picturesque retreat near Asheville for a number of years now. We try to visit Compassionate Expressions every summer to take a break and slow down. It is very peaceful with healing services, massage therapy, hot tubs, a meditative little island with a creek flowing around it and a breath taking view of the valley. There is a huge pavilion with a beautiful stone fireplace and outdoor kitchen.The owners are very personable and knowledgable of things to do in the area. We like the quiet country aspect of Compassionate Expressions but you can get to Asheville very easily for a bit of city life.

Such a beautiful retreat in the mountains. A beautifully held space for healing and perfect environment for restoration of the mind, body, soul and spirit. Reva is
a gifted spaceholder, innkeeper and healer. I will come back time and time again.
