The Shave on Fifth

Chance was awesome and gentle w/ the cut, no knicks or skin irritation (I unfortunately have a medical condition which makes my skin insanely sensitive and quickly irritated) Chance took great care with my cut and I appreciate him! Came out looking great. Had an opportunity to speak with the manager and the level of customer service and satisfaction here is well more than you'll get anywhere else. Definitely give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Brittany does an amazing job with my haircut every time. I would recommend her to anyone. I had my husband go to her, and she did a perfect job on his haircut. Now, he only sees her for all his haircuts and beard trim. You should definitely go here anytime you need a haircut, best place!

Alma has cut my hair for close to 5 years at this point! She is quite literally the best barber I have ever had! The staff are experts at their craft and go above and beyond each time you go! Yeah, life goes on after graduation but I’d make the 4 hour drive just for Alma to line me up one more time! ❤

I walked in on my first visit with barely any idea what I wanted done and I went home a new haircut & lot more confident. Alma took more time with my hair than anyone ever has and my hair has 15 cow licks and more to work with 😅. A tremendous job and I will be back regularly! 10/10

Went in today and got a high skin fade. Been to barbers all over Greenville and none of them ever get it right. Katy did a excellent job, best cut I have had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Shave on Fifth has a great atmosphere, Katy has been my Barber for a few years and she does a fantastic job on my haircuts. I also like they way you can schedule appointments on their website.

This is the best barber in Greenville! Michael Maida has cut my hair for a year now, and does a great job - knowledgeable, professional, and reasonably priced. He listens and adapts to my comments. The other customers all seem to walk out with very sharp and personalized cuts. The whole place is hyper focused on attention to details, and it shows up in the haircuts they produce for their customers. Cannot recommend more highly!

If you need a barber, go with Michael Maida at the downtown Greenville Location

I had an appointment with Mike but he had to cancel for personal reasons. I am in the military and need my hair to standards for training this weekend, so Mike offered to come in early to make sure my hair is cut. When I got there, he was finishing up folding towels because I arrived earlier. I decided to help him, folded about 15 towels, and then got my haircut.

When the haircut was over, Mike told me I didnt have to pay because I helped him fold towels. I have never wrote an online review in my life, but Mike has been great over the last two years and 15 towels does not warrant a free 40 dollar haircut. Book with Mike you wont regret it.

I'll tell you what - I lucked out coming to The Shave on 5th's on my first go in Greenville!

The ambience
When you walk in, you'll feel like gold upon entry. The barber is upstairs. You'll have to walk through the snazzy suit store in order to get there. By the way, they have some excellent quality wares you should check out. The barber sharp itself has a sort of early 1900's vibe to it. Staged whiskey display, nice quality chairs - it looks nice.

The cut
I've had the good fortune of seeing Cierra (spelling?) twice. Unfortunately, she is moving away; still one of the best cuts I've ever got. Great job on the fade, hitting the balance between taking care and time and not wasting the time. Cleaned up around my ears and eyebrows as well (you know as dude's get older, we grow new hair in new places...). Conversation was also pleasant. I'll be coming here exclusively from here on out!

This place is great. Was really surprised the first time I came here because I was so used to going to my barber back home and they did a great job. I always go for Chris and he always does a great job. The atmosphere of the shop adds to the experience. It also helps that they have beer on tap and coffee.

I can always get an appointment when I check a few days before I need to go. The staff is always smiling and are great to talk too.

This place is great! I've gone to Luis several times for a hair cut and beard trim and he does amazing work! He is super detailed and always does great work! The quality of services here is the best and the atmosphere is awesome! I recommend this place to anyone! I'm so glad to have a place like this that does this level of work!

Came to the new shop in Morehead City NC & I was not disappointed. Finding a good barber in Carteret County is difficult. But i’m now thankful that i have a place i can go to and never be disappointed in my haircut! Way to go Michael & Crew! No doubt business will be booming in CC.

Hallie has been cutting my hair for several months now. I am so very pleased with the results. My hair consistently looks as good in week 4 as it does on day 1. Hallie remembers from appointment to appointment what I need, and her suggestions are always thoughtful and helpful. In addition to her skill, I truly appreciate her genuine Eastern NC friendliness and courtesy. The vintage atmosphere of the shop also appeals to me.

What a great experience and beautiful place inside. Very friendly staff and they do an excellent job. I had the haircut, beard trim and shave. Oh my, I was so impressed when Katie was done, it looked great! I highly reccomend, I really give it more than 5 stars!

Amazing! I love it and I will be going back. I love the environment! The barbers/stylists seem so welcoming and actually care about customers. You can tell that everyone in there takes their time in what they do! Many barbershops around Greenville and surrounding areas don’t take quality in their work. I have to say, the barbers of Shave on Fifth take their time and actually care. This is the first time I’ve been to a barbershop (with appointment) and didn’t have to wait at all. Peak times are understandable, but I was shocked that I got to sit right in the chair immediately! The interior is designed well too. 10/10 review

This place is a legitimate barber shop. They have a vintage style, but they also mix in contemporary elements to make it a modern and welcoming place.

Booking appointments on their website is easy, and once your appointment is booked you get a confirmation text as well as a confirmation screen with links to automatically add the appointment to your calendar.

When I arrived (a little early) I was acknowledged and offered a beverage while I waited. When it was my turn, I noticed that Mike took his time to properly clean and arrange his tools, which I think says a lot about his dedication to his craft. The haircut was very precise, and I can tell a lot of care was put in to it. In my opinion this is the difference in a true barber and someone who just cuts hair. That extra attention to the trade is appreciated.

When it was time to pay I was able to quickly and easily pay with their tablet system, and I was able to add the tip straight to my card.

All in all this barber is exactly what I was looking for, and I plan to continue coming to them for the foreseeable future.

Shave on Fifth is incredible! I will not get my haircut by anywhere else so long as I live in Greenville, NC. Firstly, the staff are incredible. They are genuine men’s hair sculptors, and are extremely talented at what they do. (I get mine cut by Cathleen). They are friendly, and care a lot about your hair. The experience is great too! They offer complimentary drinks, the shop is artistic, and it feels like a man-cave. I’ve been twice now, and plan to go back consistently. 10/10 recommend this place!
