I am so impressed with the way Lenoir County’s Health dept is handling COVID-19. My husband tested positive and they called both of us multiple times to check in and to ask if we needed financial or food assistance. It is so reassuring to know there are people in our community looking out for us.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. COVID has made things challenging but they have adapted to ensure needs are still being met. From setting up WIC to getting connected with CC4C it has been seamless.

I worked with Kayla Powell and she went above and beyond to serve our family. She made things easy for us and we are so grateful for her communication and flexibility. I wish I could remember the lady that helped us with WIC 😞 she was also amazing and extremely helpful!

I was helped with calling inside the bldg only.. The people doing testing @ Grainger Stadium had already left by 12:40.

To say that Lenoir County has an animal control is just a lie. They are closed three days before and after a holiday, they do not return calls Monday through Friday during working hours, and god forbid if you find an aggressive animal loose because they are off or on lunch. They really need to revamp Animal control and put people in there that actually want to work. It’s insane they are always closed. Then you’re told by SPCA that’s the only way to have an animal picked up. If I didn’t have to give any stars I would.

Good luck. As with the department of health and human services, none of the people employed have the mental capacity needed to pick up a phone and speak into it. That alone shows all you need to know about the quality of their services.

Animal control exists as an automated phone system menu option only. It leads you to a defunct voicemail where questions and complaints go to die along with the animals they are employed to serve.

Restaurant health and safety inspections performed are a joke. Have walked into restaurants, looked at their posted rating (high 96-98), looked at the actual conditions, and left for fear of getting sick due to the lack of enforced standards from the inspectors. They expect us to trust ratings given by employees who cannot even determine what that occasional ringing sound coming from boxes on their desks is.

Severe racial and sexual discrimination practiced by all people employed here.

Save taxpayers money by removing the phone system here and at DHHS. Sadly the funds saved would be blown on more false brick stickers added to intersections, murals, or other pointless virtue signals that do nothing to help the citizens of Kinston.

Call a day before about at 1about a lose dog being aggressive near my home no answer left a message then they called back 30 minutes before to say they are done for the day to tell me they can't come out today to call them again tomorrow morning just like a reminder so a called in the morning got an answer they asked for info & said they will call me shortly, well 4 hours later called again got the same thing asking info & they will call me shortly and nothing I waited all day for nothing again.

Lenoir County Health Department when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2000 she was born. while I was getting prenatal care they hid that my daughter had an intestinal blockage. She was 3 days old belly was getting big the Lenoir County Health Department hid and never told me. after she had her Surgery and then her second Surgery to reverse her colostomy bag she had a stroke and now has autism and mental issues behind her from didn't want to get a lawsuit.

Horrible appointment services i was told at first my appointment was one day, then I get papers for the appointment. I call in to see how they wanted the papers done so I was told to bring them in on another day. But wasn't given a time to come in. So I called to find out what time and was told the situation. The lady I spoke to said that they're not letting anyone in due to covid so I asked her what time should I be expecting them to call she said we start at 8 in the morning so anytime between then and the time they close. Then she just hung up on me which is very rude. So those on wic be prepared for a rude representative. I even tried to explain to her that they need to get their stuff together and tell the moms that use their services the right date of appointment.

THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE ME AND MY FELLOW MEMBERS WERE OUTSIDE RIGHT IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING DOING WORK FOR THE COMMUNITY … and they tell us they don’t allow walk ins to use the bathroom We had on full uniform everything for them to turn us around they work for the public well as us
