Grassy Creek Vineyard & Winery

We did the tasting and very much enjoyed the variety of wines. The decor was nice and the fireplace, which was made from local rocks, was beautiful. Afterwards we walked on one of their trails to a dam and watched an artist as she painted a mural on the dam.

We popped in after the Enchanted Forest hike and sat outside and ate the lunch my daughter-in-law had prepared for the group. The grounds were so beautiful and full of nature and fresh air. Very peaceful and comfortable. Friendly and inviting atmosphere.
Wonderful man inside set up a wine tasting for me and I don't drink wine so this was another adventure. I'm sure they were all good but to me - a non wine drinker it was a bit bitter. One day I will find the wine for me. I purchased honey while there and it is so delicious. Honey was $15.00

Absolutely fantastic dry wines- so good that we couldn’t choose, so we bought one of each!

The tasting room is in what was formerly the stables- extremely homey and comfortable.

Plenty of seating inside and out, fire pit, corn-hole boards, live music and food trucks on weekends.

The entrance to a trail that goes to Carter falls (2 miles roughly) is on the property as well.

We will definitely be back soon to hike to the falls and finish up with a nice bottle. Thank you Cindy!

Wayne, Joyce, and Cynthia make this place what it is! From the warm welcome, to the amazing atmosphere and wine, you’ll be captivated from the moment you walk in and will not want to go home. The property has trails, cabins, the amazing tasting room etc., it’s no wonder this place is always packed! We live here and come frequently because it’s a little slice of heaven that everyone needs to experience for therapy! Not only for the wine, but for the trails that provide the therapy everyone needs to escape the day to day monotony!

We are extremely happy we found this hidden gem. It’s only 1hour 15 minutes away from Charlotte! There was wine for everyone, red, white, sweet and dry! We tried different local cheeses and crackers and created our own charcuterie board. There was live music and other local artists selling their craft. The winery has access to some trails around Elkin. We hiked to Carter Falls, which ended up being a 5 mile in and out hike through beautiful nature! We saw cows, Tobacco fields, Halloween decorated trees and an amazing waterfall. If you are looking for a day trip from Charlotte, this is the place to be!

This is a must see for yourself vineyard. It's nestled in a Beautiful setting. They offer guine cable rentals that were built back in the 1800's. It was formerly a dairy farm and they use the old milk delivery bottles as wine bottles. They are so unique!

There are at least 20 to 30 wineries in this area, but this should be the first stop! Amazing service, local craftsmen have items for sale and the a la carte food of cheese, crackers and salami was tremendous. The wines were delicious, especially the Chardonnay. Plenty of seating and acoustic music made the ambiance even nicer. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Cute small Vineyard in the foothills. The owners are super nice. On a Sunday afternoon they had live music and you can hike from there to Carter falls. I don't know a lot about vine but we found some that we liked and bought. Definitely recommend

Wonderful service! You can bring your picnic after hiking the falls, they are dog-friendly, and a quaint location. The wines are average (nothing to write home about), but the heart is there!!!!!!

Hiked up to the tasting room and had the nicest possible time. Gracious and knowledgeable hostess, and homemade wine-pairing treats. :)

A spontaneous trip to the Yadkin Valley and our first stop was Grassy Creek Vineyard. An afternoon well spent!
We got a flight to taste, sat under a tree and it was so peaceful. They also had a live band in the afternoon.
Definitely recommend visiting.

Stopped in for a visit while hiking. Great wines, atmosphere and service. Ask Wayne to get you a glass of "The Max". You won't be disappointed!

Wine and cabins to stay at - what else can you wish for?

Very pleasant environment. The have a number of amenities including cabin rentals. The wines are very nice and a selection for any palette. Most weekends they have music. Today they had the fabulous James Vincent Carroll.

Friendly staff. Beautiful setting. Comfortable seating with indoor and outdoor tables.
The wines are great! My favorites were the Rose and The Max.

Loved this place! They make you feel like you're at home. Everyone was happy and the wines were all good. Really cute spot and sitting by the fire was lovely.

We went on the trail first and returned for a glass of wine with crackers and cheese, which was very relaxing. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.

What a lovely little winery! Very cozy and homey—not the somewhat snooty atmosphere one might expect from a typical winery. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. You could tell they love what they do and are proud of this place. We got a little history of the farm and vineyard, and even advice on how to hike the adjacent trail which leads to a lovely tree bathing grove and a replica of the Hoover Dam! We did a wine tasting flight and really enjoyed all of them, particularly the Cabernet Franc and the Barbera—a variety we’d never heard of and is apparently only found at this NC winery right now. (We bought 2 bottles!) I would classify these varietals as somewhat lighter and less robust than their California counterparts, but that will appeal to some. We thought they were very flavorful and subtly nuanced. Can’t wait to see what else they put out in the future.
There is plenty of outdoor seating and space. They have a fire pit and portable heaters as well. You can also purchase charcuterie and small plate items to accompany their delicious wines. Grassy Creek is a wonderful, laid-back place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon!
