Rockford General Store

We decided to go for a drive to look for this store and I am glad we did. Quaint little general store in the historic town of Rockford NC. Well worth the visit.

So love this place. Love the mix of the old and modern. Such a knowledgeable staff. Food is great. Amazing place to stop and take a break!

Loved the area and the Rockford General Store!!! It's a must to stop in for a sandwich or meal!! The cherry Sonker was fabulous!!! The owner is a hoot!! He'll tell you the whole history of the store and the area while you're waiting for your meal!! You can eat outside or in among the antiques!! Great "little" store to spend some time in!! People come from all over to get sandwiches to eat in or to go.... you have to stop in and try them!!!

Enjoyed our visit. Coming back today to celebrate my birthday with their mouth watering sonkers as well as their other great food. Very refreshing drive out in the countryside to visit this beautiful place. Worth your time no matter where you live to see the beautiful and historic scenery. Kid friendly place as well. In another time, Back off the beaten path a community still exists where time slows down. The river winds through the area racing the railroad tracks. It's silent and calm. It sounds untrue, but I can tell you.. It's real. We are fortunate to live very close and enjoy visiting every chance we can. Antiques, Candy, Creeking floors, The smell of yester year. Step back in time and while you're here... Have a Burger, or a Bologna Sammich', Maybe a slice of pie. So charming and the food is delicious. So worth a visit if you are coming through.
Historic and functional. A Prized spot for us locals and a treat for visitors.
Friendly Staff. Why you would think your Granny was going to turn the corner at any moment.
Am i biased? Yes I am and unapologetic about it. You don't get to experience this much these days and I am glad it's in our back yard.

This place is the perfect place to stop at for a fried bologna sandwich, soda pop, and old school candy. The service is great and there is plenty of old school goods you can purchase or look at and admire. I highly recommend stopping by to check out the general store.

Found this gem on a day trip from Winston Salem. Delightful spot and kind owner who shared the area's history. Clean bathrooms and treats to purchase inside!

This General Store is an absolute gem just a short drive from Winston Salem. You’re driving down this winding country road and suddenly you’re in this tiny town that you could very easily pass if you’re distracted. But a small cluster of historic buildings quickly tells you that you’re in another time, another place altogether.
We parked out front and walked in to dive right into the fantastic old timey candy store area before putting in our orders for Bologna and a cheese sandwiches. We grabbed a few bottles of Cheerwine and waited out front and chatted with some folks on the porch while our order was being prepared. After about ten minutes, our order came out and we dug in. What an absolutely fantastic sandwich! A thick slab of fried Bologna and a huge slab of cheese. We can’t wait to come back out and stay a while!

Love, love, love this place, we frequent Rockford General Store when we are out riding motorcycles to get lunch, if you've not been here for the best burgers, hot dogs and French fries, then you truly need to put this place on "your go to" burger place! Fresh meats, homemade buns for burgers and dogs with all the fixins, Oh and the family that truly works hard to make this place Thee Best are very pleasing and friendly, love them to death, and THANK THEM FOR ALL THEY ARE DOING!!
Can't forget the yummy old time candy store that's the added bonus to this rustic piece of history.

We visited this General Store in November 2022. There were 4 of us. The young lady at the counter, was very warm and friendly. We were wowed, it's as if, you travel back in time. They have drinks and snacks from ones child hood. The sandwiches and fried pies are really good. The ❤ owner, made my wife an Apple Pie, which was not available that day!!! This business and many others, is in the wine country, off I-77 in N.C. The drive and scenery is nice, very worth your time. A lot of things to do in the region.

Friendly service, country General store. They have some of the best fried bologna sandwiches around. The apple pies are the best around homemade but you better be there quick because they sell out as soon as they put them on the table. They make their own bread.

Rockford General Store is the coolest lil place to stop and have the best burger on the best bread known to mankind.
Enjoy food, candy by the pound, fried pies, meet good people.
The owners and the girls are a delight and we all who visit are very blessed to have them and all they do!

Saw this place in Our State magazine and had to check out. It's like a step back in time and we loved it. The bologna sandwich was top notch especially paired either an ice cold ginger ale (glass bottle). Staff was very welcoming and I appreciate a well run family business.

Very good food with a little candy corner in the back. If you haven't been you should go.
