McKay's Nashville

We LOVED McKay's! This chain of used book, movie, board game, video game, record, CD, and comic book store is something else. They have locations in Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Winston, NC, and Greensboro, NC. They have an amazing program, where if you turn in books, games, or whatever, they give you credit you can use to check something else out. It can almost work like a library that way. The place is a paradise. I highly recommend their board game selection and their Christian academic book selection. The board games are new and with all their pieces. The books are reasonably priced: maybe not thrift store prices, but there is much, much more selection than a thrift store. We also bought a $20 Mandolin hard case! That was unexpected, but that's what McKay's does: you leave with less money but much happier and with much more stuff!

I have come to this location multiple times and never leave disappointed. They have everything you could need. They have books of all shapes and sizes. They have CDs, DVDs, records, Blu-Ray, comics, and graphic novels. They sell games for multiple different consoles(new and old) , musical instruments, and even toys. You can sell your old books and DVDs and then go shopping for more. Truly an amazing place to be in.

I have been hearing about this place for months, and just recently was able to to! I love this place! So many good finds! Great for gifts. This is a homeschoolers happy place! All the movies in the picture were under 3 dollars each, (except the series) and the quality is great! So many great books too! (The book in the picture is great! I recommend reading it!)

What a place for book lovers !!!!

If you love reading books, this is the place where you will get the books pretty cheap. It has all the sections like drama, science, fiction, technology, computers, kids, horror and all others for old books.
Not just books but you can get all the other old electronics, speakers, music systems, tv, old cds, cassette, vinyl records and all.

Wow this place is treasure.

My husband and I were headed back from a short trip when we saw and visited McKay’s in Chattanooga. That’s the day my life changed. Forever. The stock of used books in every subject and how every aisle was organized was amazing.

A few weeks later, I visited the Nashville store, brought a few books to trade, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount received for those. Best store for readers. Ever.

The largest used bookstore I've ever seen. Hard to figure out their price system - some books were priced more than buying new on Amazon, while others were a good deal cheaper. Just increased the treasure hunt feel of looking for what you wanted to buy, I guess. Did find some good deals and hope to be back and perhaps bring item to trade in next time!

Visited while visiting family in Tennessee. Love this place! I could stay all day and browse and the prices are really great and reasonable.

Great place to visit if you have never been. Make sure you get a cart. You won't leave this place without buying something. I love this store. You will to. It is busy. The line to the cashier's may look long, but don't worry, the line moves fast. The employees are on top of their game.

I'm not sure if I've ever been in a used book/toy/record/comic/music/collectibles......take a breath, because i can go on!!!! This store is incredible for just about anything you could want....I could geek-out here all day long!!
If you want something from you past, you'll have a good chance finding it here. And you can trade your stuff, all kinds of stuff for more stuff here...please check it out, just bring a portable chair! That's my only fault I can see with this store....not enough places to sit down and look at stuff!

So many books, prices are a bit high but that didn’t stop me from dropping $100.
It was very busy but everyone was kind and helpful.

Omg! This is the best store and experience ever. It's books and just everything for days. It has so many sections, and everything is organized.
The staff is helpful and very friendly! The books range from .50 to 20.00, depending on different factors. I left with 4 bags of books and records for about 35.00! HIGHLY RECOMMEND going here if you love all things, books, games, music, and so much more.

Awesome place to find some second hand books decently priced. More obscure titles are harder to come by but they have multiple copies of books that make it to best sellers lists.

There is no way to check book stock but the clerk was able to tell me if a book had ever been in the system.

The selection is massive and I was able to find some literary classics printed in the 70s-80s to add to my antique book collection.

There is a large selection of used board games, toys, records, movies and more if books aren't your thing.

This is a book lovers dream. They buy and sell books and other items. They have all kinds of stuff book, CDs, records, gaming stuff, Lego’s, & and much more. Prices are very reasonable.

On the second floor, they have a HUGE selection of Manga. Which if you're going anywhere other than BAM or B&N good luck on them having a decent selection.
I can , and have, spent at least an hour looking at all the manga. I found this gem up there.

But even if manga and graphic novels aren't your thing , there lots of hidden gems all over the place.

I always find all kinds of awesome things at McKays Nashville. From comics to books to electronics and games, there’s something for everyone. They also have great cash prices and in store credit offers for any items you bring in to sell. It usually takes about an hour for them to check out the items you bring in til they are ready to give you an offer. They also return anything they don’t want to to take, if you choose.

My first time here. Dropping off books and CD's from estate liquidation. They don't take VHS tapes. Put everything in a large bin due to amount of items we had. What doesn't go up for sale will be disposed of. Will take about 3-5 weeks they said to process. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We will see how this works out. A Large crowd was there both buying and selling.

Love the old school music, albums, CDs cassettes, the poetry books,games etc . It's a lot of everything there.You won't be disappointed

A huge warehouse that contains thrift finds for all types of gaming consoles and games, movies in all formats, books, collectables, toys, board games, comic books, musical instruments and trading cards. So much to see!

Super cool and fun! I love there movie collection, there are soooooo many movies of all kinds that I keep finding more and more! And there so cheep compared to other stores. I also love how easy everything is to find! The costumer service is amazing! They are so friendly and helpful! I love coming here and I’ll always be back🌟

I could spend days here sifting through everything and discovering new books, movies, games, music, and more. And yet it is organized in such a way that if I go in looking for something specific, I know exactly where to look. Definitely one of my favorite places to shop!
