Arcola Municipal Court

Ms Stacy was exceptional. From my understanding I thought it would be a difficult time, but everything was taken care of like a breeze. The person at the front desk was warm and welcoming and directed me to go to Stacy. I had a great service!

My stars are only for Mrs. Nelda she was always courteous towards me, she responded promptly and assisted me without any issues and considering all the bad reviews I thought I’d share that I had a good experience with her.
Now as far as the ticket I got it was a straight joke the vehicles that were in front of me were speeding and the officer that stopped me came from the opposite way and unfortunately I was the one she stopped and after that day I never have and hope not to have to drive that way they are just giving away tickets!

This department is a scam and needs to be shut down. At the end of the day if you want to dismiss your ticket you have to setup a payment plan to dismiss. There’s no court date or an opportunity to hire a lawyer. You have options to pay and get your ticket dismissed in 1 day, 30 days, 60 days or 90 days. They just want your money and the cops for this department don’t do anything other than sit in their cars waiting to meet their quotas regardless how much over the speed limit you go. This department is useless and serves the community no purpose they’re just looking to make a quick buck.

A dull dead place. Fortunately, I live close enough that I could drive by to get my ticket dismissed. I've only been here twice. The first time was to plead no contest to my ticket and get signed on to do the driving safety course. The second time was to come by and submit the driving course certificate. While I came there the second time, a phone call came in, and I saw the clerk put the phone call on hold and then get about doing other stuff. So I can imagine that if you call this place, good luck with getting it answered. I looked up the city of Arcola online, and I was surprised to find out that the city limits is just two square miles. Why the heck does this city exist? It seems that the only source of income is fining drivers. Cops in this city have only two things to do - fine drivers and eat donuts!

They say you can go to the court any day before the date on your ticket, I went 3 weeks early and was told the judge would not see me in shorts even though I had been working all day and drove an hour to be there. Went back 2 weeks later to be told oh today we are having “court court” any other time you can come before the date but not today. I live over an hour away from there, this place is a joke.

Scammers out to get your money. Small town Officers with no real crimes to tend to write bogus tickets to meet quotas. Then when you go to court they persuade you not to contest it. They don't care if you did the offense or not, they just want your hard earned money! I am a very cautious driver, I don't even speed...I had never in all my life got pulled over, much less got a ticket until I moved to this small town. Now I avoid driving through Arcola as much as possible! I got pulled over going over the train tracks for passing a bus with flashing yellow light that had stopped to check for the train. I confirmed with the bus depot, a lawyer, and a fort bend cop, who all confirmed it was not illegal and the lights have to be RED or the stop sign must be activated. I tried to fight it but as many times as they kept resetting my court date to try to convince me not to contest, I was about to lose my job calling in to go back and forward so i ended up just paying the bogus ticket like they want you to do. The cops/staff really live up to th name “PIGS” 🐷 here! Shameful!!!

And I truly believe the jacked up train tracks at 521 and hwy 6 are purposely kept messed up as a set up to cause congestion so the cops can sit there all day, like they do, and write tickets for you being caught in the intersection when the light changes or for cars going in the far lane because of the congestion.

UPDATE: Train tracks are finally fixed, and would you lookin there... the cops don’t seem to be as interesting in sitting there all day anymore.

These people are good for nothing other than just collect money. We are needing a permit for a cement drive way on a home. Since the lady is out of town they don’t have anyone else in charge. These people tried charging us other things that were already done to our home why should we have to get other permits. They are robbing us and taking their sweet time. If someone leaves because of vacation or emergency then there should be someone else for backup. These people are trash and it’s so upsetting that we can’t do much.

This is the worst court ever!! Avoid driving through this area because they give you ticket for no damn reason. I was going on a 33 speed where the speed limit is 30 and the police officer who pulled me over gave me a ticket saying that I was going on 43. Like what the hell!! I never speed in that road because there is a police in that road all the time and they ALWAYS pull someone over so I never speed yet, the officer gave me a ticket and he was in such a hurry to write you a ticket and then to pull over another.

Arcola PD/ Courthouse where do I begin! The two female clerks have the worst attitude which I get I would hate working for that town. It is difficult to get anyone to pickup the telephone & provide factual information. I finally found an attorney that would even take the case because the ones I did call refused to deal with Arcola. I also had to send a handwritten letter to the Mayor because my messages were not getting delivered. Previous posts are pretty accurate on the experience I received.

Wouldn't accept online driving course certificate that we printed. Get with this decade, Arcola. Courthouse is in a portable building/trailer. Clerk doesn't know the best way to word things to avoid confusion. Attitude.

They won't let you park here in this fancy establishment anymore if you are going next door to the meat market. If you pull in you have to go all the way around don't drive on the shoulder to get to the meat market. These guys are the angry types so they treat you bad even though all they need to do is hurry up and write the ticket. Please keep in mind I Back the BLUE and my buddies are cops so I appreciate the good ones.

Their whole system is set up to make money. It's a scam from the word Go! Every employee is grumpy or angry in their sweet, guaranteed government job. Their building is a pile of trash which is a surprise, considering the money they take in from bogus traffic fines. I guess they all need 26" rims for their Impalas.

rude, inexperience, completely impolite! Ms. Cantu receptionist and the City administrator Gwendolyn Tealer as she identified herself are completely not fit to work in public departments. Bad representation for the City of Arcola. If I could give negative stars, I would. It's disappointing that as consumers we rely on city employees for help only to find that you can't count on them.

Worst Municipal Court! Their officers love to tell people whats right and what is wrong without them even knowing the rules them selfs. They love to stop people for any little thing! It seems like they got notting better to do then just sit around and harras people!

Someone from the state needs to investigate the judge and all the police in this city . They are taken advantage of some poor people who can’t even afford the tickets they are getting . 1500 people that live that city and all you do is give out tickets . You out to be ashamed of your selves takeing money from people like that . And you can forget getting a jury trial in this court . Might take a year ......

Im not mad about to citation. I'm mad at the process you go to have to pay the citiaton. Massive lookin room with plastic chairs and tables waiting for your named to be called. Even for the people that just want to pay and leave. Ridiculous how long you have to wait. I wouldn't even call this place a city. I can tell why they cops here are a joke.

Goddamn this place is terrible. I'm here right now and it's been 3 hours and still counting to just pay a fine. The whole process is bullshit. Need some better processing ideas. Waiting so long just to pay a fee
