Cretia's

This CAKE is amazing. I literally drive 30 miles for this delicious cake. It’s so moist and icing so good and chocolaty. The service has been amazing everytime I go. I haven’t ever actually sat and enjoyed the restaurant because I’m just after the sweets but I would drive in traffic everyday for a slice of this cake.

Everything from their food, cakes, cookies, and pecan bars - delicious. Staff - friendly and sweet! For food, I love their spinach salad with berries and mango vinaigrette. Add the perfectly grilled salmon! It’s delicious.

I love this place. The desserts are always fresh and delicious. You have so many options and the prices are reasonable. This is my #1 dessert spot. I think the Sock It To Me Cake is my favorite.

We got cakes from Cretia's for our wedding cakes, highly recommend! Delicious and fit great into our budget. You do have to call them to make an appointment for tasting (you can submit an inquiry online, but you will need to call them to follow up on it, they will not automatically contact you), so just keep that in mind. They were extremely helpful during the tasting process, were able to deliver our cakes on the day of, and they looked great! All our guests loved the cakes (and we loved eating the leftover cake the next day!)

I took my grandmother here this weekend and it was absolutely delicious. I’ll start there- here’s something I noticed - we were the first dine in customers and the tables were dirty. I’m talking about crumb city.

Now that I got that out- we both enjoyed the smothered chicken w/mashed potatoes and green beans. I mean nothing went wrong with the food at all. Coffee was delicious. If you’re trying to get some kinda special coffee right now, call ahead the machine was broken this past Saturday per our waiter.

Back to the food…A+. Bonus they are also a bakery! We tried a cheesecake, pound cake and Italian cream cake. I have no caloric regrets.

This place is the perfect stop for a quiet date a study spot or for the perfect sweet tooth treat. Cakes are delicious and the tea is served beautifully! 🩷🩷

Enjoyed lunch here with my bestie!! I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. 😋 Also, I had an Italian Cream Cheese Cake.

Travel has been limited for us lately, so finding new eats in our own backyard is our focus. Lately, we've been in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas, and today, we had brunch at Cretia's. This place has been around a while, and it's too bad we haven't checked in to it earlier. We've been missing out!
Diane had the sweet onion quiche (today's) with fruit. One thing you notice right away is that every part of the quiche is handmade. The pastry was flaky and buttery, cooked to perfection. The quiche was soft but, once again, cooked just right. The use of cream is present but just adds to the flavor instead of overpowering the other ingredients. I really don't think it can be improved on. The side of fruit was large pieces of watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, honeydew, and cantaloupe. All very good. Diane doesn't usually like honeydew, but she actually enjoyed theirs.
I had Cretia's salad. Chicken fried chicken, bacon, tomatoes, cheddar, croutons, deviled eggs, and a creamy maple balsamic dressing. The chicken was pounded thin, and the breading was just a dusting that was crunchy but delicate with just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken just melted in your mouth. The salad itself was crisp and fresh, and the maple balsamic dressing was really good. Not too sweet as some tend to be.
Our server, Angie, was friendly, professional, and helpful with the menu.
Cretia's is known for its bakery, so we had to take a few things home that we will review after coffee and dessert at home tonight. 😜
Overall, highly recommended two thumbs-up 👍👍

Update:
Easter lunch with my mom and Diane's folks at Cretia's. Once again we had a great meal and enjoyed our stay. Our server was friendly, helpful and on the spot with service.
The mom's both had the salad trio. Chicken salad, spinach salad and fruit.
Dad chose the caramel and apple French toast. Was it good? Well, lets just say I thought he might lick the plate clean but etiquette won out.
Diane had the days kiesh, spinach, and fruit. We've had the kiesh before and it was really good once again.
I had the Davis street burger. The onion jam was a flavorful addition to the smoked bacon, egg and cheese. The fries were seasoned and cooked just right.
Once again, everything was fresh and thoroughly enjoyed.
We each ordered some dessert to take home. The desserts are just fantastic. The line goes out the door with those who just wanted sweets.
The one thing I can't figure with this place it that the dining room is hardly ever busy. The desserts are good but so is the rest of the menu. We recommend you try everything!

Back again with another group of friends. This time with the Niçoise steak salad. Nice fresh greens and toppings and the steak was absolutely awesome. Tender with a very good marinade.

I absolutely adore this place for both dining in and for the bakery. The food is always superb and the service is always awesome. Recently, the staff truly made a special moment happen on short notice for my girlfriend’s birthday. We had asked them to just “misspell” Happy Birthday like from the Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone movie. They went the extra mile and re-iced the cake with the whole pink frosting and then the green frosting for the writing — just like the movie. She teared up and was SO shocked at how beautiful and accurate the cake was when I gave it to her. This isn’t new with Cretia’s either. I’ve been ordering my birthday cakes for loved ones for over 4 years. Thank you guys so much for always being so kind and fulfilling my orders. You truly made a huge sentimental moment happen for us this year for her first birthday in Dallas. ❤

The ladies were welcoming and kind 10 mins before closing. The pecan bar, bonbons, and lemon bar was so yummy! Will definitely stop in again to try other items :)

The food was good, I tried the Grandma's Smothered Chicken and my son tried the Cretias club. Now let me say the dessert was delicious! I love carrot and red velvet cake, but rarely find a place that makes a good one. This place takes 5 stars! Oh my goodness both were delicious. My son ate the marshmallow brownie and if you love chocolate then you'll love their brownies. Well definitely be back. Great service.

First timer, here! The staff was so patient and nice. There are many different bakery options! The cookies were yummy. But, the strawberry cake was the highlight!! It's hard to find good strawberry cake! Their's was so fluffy and moist! Melted in my mouth! I'll definitely be back to try their savory options.

Cute place, love the vintage chairs. Desserts all look amazing and I noticed everyone was coming in to buy a whole cake! So it must be amazing. I went for brunch and had the crab cakes. Perfectly made and so delicious. Great customer service, kind and friendly. Love the monkey paintings from a couple stores down. Would def recommend it!

Great table service. It dose it busy. I enjoyed taking my grandkids and daughter for dinner. I do love some chocolate cake. I ordered a cake for my mom birthday. It was good.

The cake stole the show! Everyone reved about the cake. Staff was awesome.. Tasted amazing!

I have always enjoyed Cretia's desserts. The almond cookie is my absolute favorite. The pound cake and chocolate on chocolate are my favorite cakes. Today was my first time trying the Spinach salad and potato soup. Both were delicious. The salad was extremely fresh and the citrus based dressing was just the right compliment. The cup of soup was flavorful and very creamy. I left a very happy camper.

I called for a last minute cake for a last minute baby shower and they did not disappoint! I had no idea what I wanted but my cake turned out absolutely beautiful and tasted even better!! Highly recommend whether you’ve got a weekend craving or a special occasion!

The only reason I don’t want to write this review is because I don’t want anyone else to be at Cretia’s when I want some cake!

Cretia’s was our wedding cake and it was a reasonable price for a small cake to feed 59.

Every single time I pick up a pie, cupcake or cake it is so delicious and moist that I’m always happy to have made the drive. Make sure to be strategic when coming because parking can be packed on the weekends.

A great little bakery in Bishop Arts and I’m pretty sure they have food too 😂

Stopped in to get a slice of cake to-go, since I haven't had a Cretia's fix in a long time. Kalynn took great care of us and offered suggestions. She was very friendly, patient, and personable. As expected, the white cake was delicious (the frosting is so sweet and yummy), and the buttermilk pie really surpassed my expectations. I'll have to hide my desserts from my kids. 😉
