I didn't know much when I first read about Kuluntu. I personally love bakeries but I try to stay away as they are generally very addictive. This is definitely the case with this one. I'm not sure I've ever had a galette as good as I had yesterday. It was no only beautiful but the flavors were insane. I almost couldn't stop myself from eating it. The owner was also very nice.
If you haven't yet, order something in their online portal and try it for yourself.

I got the Peaches, Cream & Thyme Galette, Fig & Fennel Sourdough, Cape Spiced Sticky Bun and the Ham & Cheese Croissant. The fig and fennel sourdough is incredible, it's perfect for a cheese board and a grilled cheese. The galette was so flaky and delicious. The sticky bun wasn't overly sweet and was delicious. We loved everything we got!

I took an online sourdough class and it was fantastic!

Kuluntu sent the dehydrated starter ahead of time as well as detailed instructions. I don't own a proofing basket and didn't want to invest until I knew if I wanted to bake sourdough more often, so I also liked that she provided alternative tool ideas. For instance, I used a strainer instead of a proofing basket and a knife instead of a blade for scoring. Would recommend a thermometer but I didn't have one and it wasn't a deal breaker.

Delicious! Photos here.

I’ve been buying sourdough bread from Kuluntu since 2019 and I’ve yet to taste any sourdough as good as theirs. Customer service is also incredible and their whole team cares about bettering the city of Dallas. Amazing place!

Such a sweet little bakery, I drive so far to some here. I have a gluten intolerance and I normally get horrendously sick when I have bread, but their bread doesn't affect me for some reason. Your mileage may vary, and I don't know why it doesn't affect me, but I'm so happy I can eat AMAZING delicious bread from somewhere that doesn't make me sick.

The folks at Kuluntu are so kind and make Dallas feel a bit smaller with their friendliness. I'll be coming back here for years to come.

Stephanie made our wedding cake and it was absolutely phenomenal. We had such a difficult time choosing a flavor during our tasting because they were all out of this world. Stephanie is so easy to work with, and her work is truly art. We cannot wait to try their other items!

This is the best sourdough bread in the entire DFW area. I've tried several of their sourdough breads and I've liked every single flavor. Each one was unique and delicious. Today we tried the kouign, no words to describe it, but PERFECTION. I 100% recommend it.

So my sister and I took the class on naturally leavened pastries. We had a wonderful day learning about sour dough starters and brioche dough, and we made several pastries. Stephanie, and her husband Warren, were very friendly and inviting. The class we attended was in their lovely home, and we enjoyed a delicious brunch. Stephanie is extremely knowledgeable about sour dough, and is very comfortable and confident in her skill set. I would absolutely recommend taking one of her classes if you are at all interested in baking, and I would definitely take another class with her.

My first experience with Kuluntu Bakery was a sourdough bread baking class, and I have been hooked ever since. Supplementing my own bakes with boules from them is just the start - I have also loved their seasonal gift boxes and taken another virtual class on galettes. Stephanie is kind and compassionate and does a great job sharing her love of baking with others. I love that Kuluntu Bakery commits to social justice and feeds our community. Please support them all you can - they do wonderful things!

My husband and I attended the Ubuntu Supper Club tonight with Stephanie introducing us to the cuisine of South Africa and Warren telling us some of the country’s history. The food was incredible and so unique. But the highlight was the bread. I will definitely be ordering some from her! Stephanie is working towards a brick and mortar non-profit bakery to support social justice issues. What an incredible and lovely couple and the other dinner attendees were also incredibly interesting people.

My friend and I took the Brunch class on the 'naturally leavened pastries' & we both had a fabulous time! Stephanie is incredibly knowledge about sour dough & was explained the techniques & reasons behind each step. We had mimosas, ate brunch, & made several pastries that we got to take home with us afterwards to share(or not). Stephanie & her husband, Warren, were very welcoming & we loved getting to know the other people in the class during our time there. Highly recommend if you're interested in learning how to bake, need to get someone a birthday gift, idea for date night, or just for fun!

We order from the bakery every week. We have not eaten anything we haven't found delicious. The fillings and flaky layers of the galettes are amazing and the sour dough breads are wonderful. We can't wait to order on Saturday mornings and picking up our treasures on Thursday evenings. We highly recommend Kuluntu Bakery to you.

I wish every business was like this. They opened up their yard for an Easter egg hunt! There was cold brew coffee to enjoy and we got a box of pastries with the most delicious kouign-amann I’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommend.

Bought a cooking class for my family and we had the best time! It was very professional and well done. We left with a bunch of delicious recipes as well as what we baked during the class. Have also ordered for gifts and it was very easy. The bread got there quickly and was just as delicious as the baked goods we made in class. Highly recommend!!

I took a virtual sourdough baking class that Stephanie led and it was so informative and really fun! I highly recommend it if you are at all interested in bread baking. If you live in Dallas, she even had sourdough starter available for pick up which made the whole process easier.

I have been to two workshops with Kuluntu Bakery, and they were both a blast! Stephanie is such a knowledgeable and patient teacher, and she makes the most amazing bread. Highly recommend attending a workshop or ordering from Kuluntu!

You know what I’m thankful for? Friends. Had I not had friends to share with, I would’ve eaten the entire, giant seedy sourdough loaf and succumbed to self hate and loathing for the rest of the weekend. Thankfully, I’ve got friends.

The crunchy texture and nutty taste from the seeds set this apart from a plain sourdough. If fall had a taste (not pumpkin spice latte, please.) it would be this bread.

While I haven’t had the pleasure of attending class with Stephanie and Warren, I am very happy with my order. Class must be out of this world!

The best sourdough bread & treats! My personal favorites are the rosemary/garlic sourdough & pecan millionaire tart. Steph is so knowledgeable & creative, as well as being patient & passionate about teaching others.
