This is the coolest store, gas station and deli. Stopped by for a look. Had lunch. Chili and grilled cheese 🤤. Best tasting hamburger I've had in a long time 😋. Very nice coworkers. Love these places. It's what America is all about.

A great stopping point on route 50. You can buy gas, use the facilities, have a cold drink and a meal at the counter restaurant inside, and shop for all sorts of things. Shakes, sundaes and soft serve ice cream are available for a treat. Nice place to rest on a long drive. Great shady picnic tables. Covered bridge. Antique tractors and rail cars for kids to climb on.

This is a great stop and relax place when traveling on route 50. The wonderful collection of train cars, steam engines, and farm machinery is like a free museum you can touch and explore. My sons always loved to stop here and check it all out!

You have to see this place!

An albino peacock, an alpaca, a rooster...

A bunch of old machinery, some railroad cars, a caboose. One of the coolest, oddest things you’ll ever see. Touch anything you want - very little is fenced off or inaccessible.

Plus, the only true General Store I’ve ever seen on the east coast. From candy to hardware and back again, this “Exxon” has a bit of everything.

Do eat elsewhere, however. The cafeteria/diner/restaurant or whatever they call it “serves” small, tasteless portions of horrible food so slowly and inefficiently it bears mentioning only as a caution: don’t eat here.

The rest is a must-see. Perfect destination for a scenic drive with the top down or on your motorbike.

Cool gas station, souvenir shop, and hardware store. Food, snacks, jams, salsas, cured meats, hunting supplies.

Charming, historical park filled with beautifully decorated abandoned decades old farming tractors, trains and other farming equipments. Plus adorable peacocks, donkeys, turkeys and other birds roaming the park.

Quirky, fun piece of Americana owned and operated by the same family for almost 100 years. Great home made deserts, park with tractors, mining equipment, and the miscellaneous donkey, llama, chicken, etc...

I moved to West Virginia in 2021 and quickly cool springs became one of my favorite places. It's a great to go there everytime! You never know what's gonna be there when you visit, it's always something new. Plus they have amazing food and great service! I also love that in fall, they have big containers of apples up front from the orchards. Nothing beats being at cool springs.

It's always nice to visit, but it isn't much of a gift shop anymore like it used to be. It needs more selection, in my opinion. I grew up around Cool Springs so it was kinda depressing not seeing as much as they used to have.

I didn't stop inside -- just wandered the yard of antique mining and railroad equipment -- very cool.

This place has EVERYTHING! Restaurant, knick knacks, antiques, tshirts, gas, fruit, vegetables, and more. Many of the items for sale are inexpensive and VERY unique.

I remember my grandparents driving us up in the bed of their pickup truck as kids (40 yrs ago). It has always been a stop for me ever since. Not much for a city dweller, but fun and nostalgic for those of us who aren't. I climb the tractors, use the restroom, an buy some sodas and snacks and move on. The cafe bar is always packed with locals. I've never had the food but if the locals come back it must be OK.

We like visiting small rural communities. Since we HAVE the time, it's much more enjoyable than flying over. Today, on a lark, we stopped impulsively at a sort of outdoor agricultural museum / general store we were passing by. Bought a candy bar and took a walk around the exhibits. It was little more than open-air storage of old (VERY old) agricultural implements but it was interesting and an off-beat reason for a short interruption of our journey.

Full service gas station with diner. If you're a dude, be sure to wear a ballcap inside. Glad I stopped here with the fam. Got gas, lunch, and ice cream. Seemingly authentic Americana.

I love this place! I just happened upon it while working up in Preston County, and now wish I lived closer to it, so I could go more often. Okay, it's just a little country general store with a roadside attraction component, but you can find everything from old-time candies to arts-and-crafts. Moreover, the food is is freshly prepared and tastes great, all for a reasonable price. This isn't a quick service restaurant; this is a place where the locals come to share a meal and have a chat with the neighbors. Of course, travelers stop here, too; the location is right on U.S. 50.

I saw some nice landscaping plants for sale out front, and there's been some farm fresh produce available each of the three times I've stopped here. The animals that are kept on the grounds seemed happy and well kept. All the old wagons, railroad rolling stock, and machinery is especially interesting to me, as an archaeologist, since I seldom see complete examples of historical objects coming out of the ground; seeing examples of different equipment that has been used in the area helps to identify the smaller fragments of those same types of equipment that I actually find in the ground. So, the equipment on display may have a different meaning to me than the average visitor.

If you're riding down U.S. 50, you should definitely stop in to have a burger, a homemade dessert, and a bottle of Cheerwine soda pop. Have a chat with the locals, pet the donkeys, buy some plants, and revel in the nostalgia of an era that has largely been displaced by the "progress" of the contemporary, urbanized world. I know I'll stop in anytime I'm up that way. Thanks for the great food! I'm already planning to try the steak hoagie next time.

I've come here on special outings since I was a kid. Always loved the old antique farm equipment and trains they have on display, though they are starting to deteriorate due to their age. Love all the knickknacks they sell here. Great ice cream for the kids.

This place is lake a time capsule, I've been here many time over the past 40 years when I been in town, it has changed very little and thats a good thing.always stopped and had gravy & biscuits and some cherry apple cider before heading out with my uncles on fishing adventures. Food is cheap and tasty and the staff treats everyone like family.

It's a little rough but it's a stop everyone has to make that is going through the area. They have a little bit of everything and the food is good.
