Wonderful experience on a weekend getaway with my wife. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good food and drinks. I must mention by name, Amy, at the Serenity Springs Cafe went above and beyond. Super friendly and helpful, and makes the best drinks! I will come back just for her frozen margaritas! Overall had a great time and will come again and recommend to my friends!

We enjoyed our stay at the Homestead in one of the 2 queen-bed suites last week. The hotel was rather quiet midweek so we did not experience any of the staffing issues that other reviewers mentioned. The service was wonderful and very professional. Champagne at check in was appreciated. The new decor is lovely in the grand lobby and other areas, but I agree with another reviewer that the new designer seemed to avoid the traditional Virginia elegant look in the West Wing hallway. (I also took a photo of it as the other reviewer did in disbelief). I hope someone will reconsider and change the carpeting to something lovely like before or at least try to coordinate it with the wallpaper. Of course this would not stop me from staying there again. The hotel historic tour was great with Anthony who genuinely loves this hotel and the renovation of the theater is beautiful. We enjoyed the Audubon dining room with the wonderful pianist and food. Oscar, our server, was so much fun! There is a connection to the gorgeous outdoors even while inside on cold days with firepits and blankets on the front porch and fireplaces burning in the lobby. The large windows in the Jefferson dining room/bar areas overlooking the beautiful back grounds are stunning. We are looking forward to returning there to see the Christmas tree and decorations in December. We appreciate the Omni "rescuing" this grand historic and beautiful resort but hope that the gray-black design that current hotels exhibit does not take over this lovely place.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and extremely well maintained. I’m glad to see that the renovations of this property are bringing it back to life. I had the pleasure of taking a class in falconry and was pleasantly surprised on the experience I had. Another thing I got to experience was a horse drawn carriage ride through the woods on a carriage that’s over 200 years old. The coachman was extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable on the history of the property and surrounding properties so as an added bonus we got a history lesson on the ride, would highly recommend this as well. The amount of activities to do here are endless we barely had time to scratch the surface on everything they had to offer. If you only have time for one thing I would recommend a day at the spa while enjoying the hot springs because that’s a truly one of a kind experience. The staff at the resort were truly exceptional and really understood what the definition of hospitality means. Without a doubt I will be returning here in the the near future.

Beautiful hotel with great service! We recently stayed for a long weekend with my wife and three young boys. There is literally something for everyone. The boys went skiing one day, swam in the indoor pool everyday, watched a movie in the theatre room, participated in a craft time, enjoyed the happy hour cookies, and went to the Kid's Adventure Center one evening for dinner and activities. They loved everything. My wife and I enjoyed good meals every night, and the overall beauty of the hotel and grounds.
Special shoutout to Chef Frederick Ottey and Chef Fred in the Grand Hall. Every morning these gentlemen were so friendly to my young boys. We had to squeeze one last breakfast in before checkout, because my boys wanted to say goodbye to Frederick and Fred. We will be back!

We had dinner in the main dining room. High dining complete with flaming dessert and multiple waiters tending to out every desire. The food was marvelous and the pianist played music that was pleasant but not intrusive. A place to celebrate life's milestones.

Nice facility! Staff is very professional. Beautiful decor. Need improvement on lowering some prices. Especially breakfast. $32 per person for this menu is too much. Although I did enjoy Santa pics.

Too much $ at other hotel restaurant for meals offered.

More activities should be minimal cost like smores..

Drivers are great.

Some over priced items in stores. However, nice hotel and staff.

One Staff stated they loved their job.

It’s difficult to get to, but well worth it! This resort has so much history and is so scenic and gorgeous. We did falconry (Linda did an incredible job!), visited the warm springs, played lots of golf and spent two days at the spa. It was truly fabulous and well worth it! Definitely go!

I came to The Homestead many times when I was younger with my parents and finally had the pleasure of bringing my family. This is our second Thanksgiving and this beautiful destination just gets better and better. It is truly a magical place, the location is beautiful, the staff are so accommodating and delightful. The breakfast in the dining room is amazing, especially the homemade donuts. We spend our days hiking, riding horses, swimming in the indoor pool. The falconry class was such a unique experience and our guide was so knowledgeable. There are endless activities to fill your time! We end our days with a drink by the fire in the cozy great hall and a movie in the theater. Thanksgiving at The Homestead is a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season. To all the staff who work endlessly, thank you for all that you do to make The Homestead such a joyful and magical destination. We appreciate you and are so grateful!

I wanted to surprise my husband for a nice weekend and it was so great! I don’t know why people have so much negative things to say, people are not so kind these days but we had a blast. It was during Labor Day weekend and they had fireworks, movie nights at the pool, live music, tours. We took the shuttle buses to kayaking and the warm baths and both were great! Loved it, we will be back and I hope we have the same great experience!

My Husband and I were at the Omni Homestead for a quick romantic get away. I wish we had been able to stay longer. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Monica and Markell at the front desk greeted us with Champagne and a smile. Our suite was warm and inviting with a beautiful view of the spa and the pools. We immediately went to the indoor pool. The water was warm and felt amazing. Then off to the outdoor pools which also were warm. Hard to image swimming outside in 30 degree weather, but we were and it felt great. For a while, we had the pools all to ourselves. They provide wonderful soft robes and thoughtful amenities at every turn.
We choose to go horse back riding and Amanda, our guide was knowledgeable and attentive. It was fun.
We also did a private evening soak, under the stars , at the Warm Springs bath house. It was a romantic and magical experience. But thinking about the historical figures throughout time whom that have taken these waters, (as Lisa would say) and here I am being able to enjoy this same experience, it made me feel very grateful to the Omni Homestead for preserving this wonderful place. Then to think about all the everyday people who came for healing, I felt moved beyond words.
We were also there for the Valentine’s Dinner at the Audubon Dining room. It is gorgeous! The food was prepared perfectly and our service was impeccable. I wish I had asked my waiter his name so I could recommend him
Regardless what you do when you go, be sure and take time for the history tour with Anthony. It is free but I would pay for it. Anthony is that good. My husband and I had so much fun, we have decided to come back this spring. The Homestead is so relaxing, it makes you feel like you’ve gone back to a time of grace, and loveliness. It has always been a Grand Hotel and with all the renovations it is even Grander.

The Omni Homestead is truly a one of a kind destination. Our family loves visiting throughout the year, and the resort and surrounding communities have a wealth of culture and activities to offer no matter the season. Today we went on a guided tour of the Cascades Gorge, and our guide, Cooper, was extremely well-informed about native flora and fauna. She was an absolute pleasure. Quinn at Virginia Wine Experience always has excellent recommendations on regional wines. The Warm Springs Pools are a must-see. The just completed restoration of all the Homestead properties is poised to usher in another century of refined travel in the Highlands.

We don't stay here often but we visit the grounds once a year. Brought my wife for an overnight stay just after Thanksgiving and was impressed with the facelift this place has received. Love the brighter feel and top notch decor for Christmas. So beautiful and was an added perk of our stay. Staff was very friendly and courteous.

Me and my wife went sight seeing and bright her here to look. It's been a while since I came to the resort but it's beautiful as always. From the art work telling the history of the area to areas of the resort which are beautiful.

I didn't stay. Our group reserved a table for the Thanksgiving dinner. It was freezing cold outside, the Homestead was lovely and warm and beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The food was stellar ashe it was a lovely experience. Of course, it seems expensive to most-it's about the experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the food selection and the well-trained staff. My only gripe was that our waiter made several Arnold Palmers and sort of forced them onto us who only wanted water. We knew that we could have other drinks but simply preferred water. The drinks were pretty much wasted on us 🤷🏼‍♀ Aside from the fact that the check-in area needed to be more apparent and more organized, it was perfect.

I have been coming to the Homestead for most of my life and this last time was just so lovely. I have to say that my favorite part was the new pianist, I wish I would've gotten his name. He is AMAZING. I am not one to sit and listen to that type of music but after I heard him I made sure we got a front row seat in the great hall to listen to him with our before-dinner drinks. (he played the nights of December 17 & 18).

The Christmas decorations this year were just incredible and definitely the best I have seen there in quite a while.

As with all places in the hospitality business staffing is sometimes an issue but my husband and I are pretty laidback and we thought everything was great even with a few small hiccups. The folks working there really work hard.

The movie in the theater had a few technical difficulties so that was a little bit of a bummer but I love the new theater upgrades (including a bar!).

I wish the outdoor pool were open later for adults.

Overall we love this place! Yes it's old, it's historic and magical. The rooms are super clean!! Thank you Homestead!

We were there during labor day weekend and we have had a great time. The property is beautiful and well maintained. All staff members were friendly and helpful. We have had breakfast and dinner buffet during our visit and it was wonderful. They have a lot of activities whole day for kids and adults. It is a little bit pricey but it's worth to spend your hard earned money here.

My first time here and it was amazing!! Everything about it. We enjoyed the day at the spa and hot springs which was incredible. Our wait staff Elizabeth at the spa was just as equally amazing! She gave us 5 star service and went above and beyond to make sure we were provided for And well taken care!

This place is huge! The staff is super friendly. Lots of activities to choose from. The two primary restaurants are excellent. Make reservations ahead of time for all activities or you may get shut out during peak periods.

It’s taken a few weeks for me to post this review, but I still went ahead as I wanted to share my thoughts about our first experience at the Omni Homestead resort in Hot Springs, VA in the off-season (Oct. 26-29th) ! On this visit, my husband and I were celebrating our first wedding anniversary.

First, the night we arrived, we were warmly greeted, check-in was seamless, and we received complementary drink coupons which were perfect for the evening. We spent the first evening settling in and taking a tour of the resort; spending the latter half of the evening at the Jefferson bar (Rowan and Abhijeet are wonderful! )
Our second day we spent the entirety at spa with the spa day pass, which was excellent! Loved the hot tub and the Octagon Pool.
Saturday, we went on the morning nature hike with Cooper as our guide and had the opportunity to see some breathtaking views and learn about holistic nature. We spent our day relaxing and enjoying the property before taking a dinner reservation in town at the Waterwheel which was fantastic ambiance.
We checked out Sunday morning, but not after enjoying the Hanakusumi service!

Overall, our experience was fantastic and pleasant- yes, the resort is under construction, but this never inconvenienced or worried us in any way! A reminder for those who might be hesitant based on some of the reviews is this is a historical resort – not some modern new-age hotel spa, so expect it to reflect that. I was looking forward to the history and I have an affinity for older buildings, so this was perfect for me. 😊 We appreciated visiting in the off-season too and were pleasantly surprised by the vibrant fall colors combined with unseasonable warmth (75 degrees) during our stay. The Edamame dumpling and duck soup was divine- I had a bowl of it no less than 3 times throughout our stay 😊

A common problem for most resorts post covid is staffing.. That said, even with the obvious challenges this remotely located resort is experiencing the level of service that was given by the staff was top-notch! The hotel recently got a facelift with all the rooms being remodeled. The golf courses were absolutely spectacular as we played both courses in two days and we couldn't have been more pleased with their condition and the level of service given by the courses employees. True Southern hospitality all the way.. Sadly we had to return back home to San Diego after a 3 night whirlwind adventure but we will be back!
