Glad we found David’s Catfish House on our route to OK/TX. Cute little place with really good food! Now I don’t like or eat catfish but it is a favorite for my honey! I knew I could find something I would like. I ordered the Tuesday - Thursday Popcorn Shrimp AUCE Special. One serving was way more than I could eat! It came with 2 sides! What a deal for the biggest eaters. I expected a much smaller shrimp than what was served so that was awesome! We had a very friendly server too. Coleslaw was great! Fried Okra is yummy! Desserts!!!! I had a bite of pound cake and it was probably the best I have had, and I am a baker!

Go try something! Perfectly fried with non-fried options! They even had Steamed Crab Legs for a great price but I didn’t see that before I ordered.

Consistently excellent across the board. Awesome establishment. The only critique I could consider making is on being sat. Sometimes there is no one up front and you will have to wait. But once you get into a seat - one of the best restaurants in the area.

Greeted properly when entering David's Catfish House. Was promptly seated in a booth. Our server was there very fast and took our drink order while my wife and I looked over the menu.
She was back to our table with our drinks just as we had come to a decision on our order. We both agreed to order the David's Seafood Platter. It didn't take maybe twenty minutes and our food came out piping hot. I mean "one Mississippi" hot. Man was this loaded with food! Now I'm not complaining at all! This is so rare for food to come out this hot, that I actually enjoyed not being able to just gobble it down so quickly. So the Catfish was properly cooked, being moist inside and done too. Not over or under done. The boiled shrimp was seasoned just right. Then there is the fried shrimp done to perfection as well as the fried oysters. Yes you heard that right, oysters! Yummmmm! The stuffed crab was one of the best I have ever had. Once again, not too done or under cooked. Just perfect. Service was very good. I could see that the young lady had plenty of tables to wait, but she made it a point to continually check on us and keep our southern sweet tea glasses full. Did not have any alcohol for lunch and the bill come out for two people at around $57. Not bad at all in 2023 for a seafood platter as large as it was!
I left feeling guilty not having tipped the cook. I'm telling you that person really deserved to get something for getting everything on that plate to perfection. And I mean the same for my wife's plate. She loved every bite of it! Thank you Dothan, David's Catfish House for a great experience.

David's Catfish was delicious. I ordered at the drive thru and they gave me a buzzer to wait for my order. The wait was about 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. I had two fillets with cheese grits and collard greens. The grits were made perfectly but the collard greens were a little on the sweet side. Some people may like theirs sweeter but personally I didn't. You can tell that they were fresh greens which was great and I ate them with my food anyway. I'd recommend eating here.

Food is very good. Only thing I did not really like was the fried green tomatoes, they just needed more seasoning, were very bland. The cajun grilled catfish fillets were delicious! Service was good, except when our waiter went missing for 20 minutes, she has gotten busy in the back doing prep work but came back and made up for it. Will definitely be back.

1st visit and I have to say I was very impressed. The cheese grits taste just like mine. They were perfect! The slaw was also perfect! We all went on a Thursday night because they have a special...all you can each peel & eat shrimp. They only bring 5 at a time but our server was a champ. He did an excellent job keeping up with our full table. The butter is also good They put a season in it. I tried the crab dip and that was my favorite of all. The fried crab claws were delicious along with the okra. He kept all of our glasses full. The restaurant is very clean as well as the bathroom. I know we will be back.

First visit. Saw the billboard and asked the hotel staff. They recommended, so my wife and I tried it. I live in Atlanta but am originally from Mississippi and grew up on Mississippi catfish so I'm relatively picky about it. David's got it as close to home as I've had outside the state. Batter wasn't too thick or doughy like some places. We both chose the fish and grits entree and enjoyed it. We wanted to sample the gumbo and liked this combination plate. I also liked the hush puppies. My wife enjoyed the sweet potato hush puppies/beignets for dessert. Solid experience. Megan was an excellent, attentive server. Recommended.

Food was delicious, especially the ''hush puppies" they serve when u first get there. They have sweet potatoes and cinnamon sugar in them, so they are more like doughnuts. The Cole Slaw was really good, too. Most places slaw is hit or miss, but theirs is on point. The fish tacos were really good, too. The only thing that would've made them better is if they put the slaw that comes in the bowl on the taco instead of what was in there. The waitress was nice and kept checking in and cups full as well.

My wife and I came across your restaurant online looking for a seafood restaurant to try during our stay in Dothan (we rarely eat beef). We were promptly greeted when we walked in sat at a clean table. The waitress was very good and even answered my questions about some menu options. Our food came out in about 10 minutes sizzling hot! We ordered the fried catfish and oysters. They were delicious! My wife had the collard greens and onion rings as her sides and I had the cole slaw and cheese grits (about the best cheese grits I've had). The portions were large enough that we had to "doggie bag" some of the fish and onion rings. I don't do a lot of reviews unless I feel compelled to but this place was great! We go through Dothan several times a year and now will make this our "must stop" restaurant.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We are from Philadelphia. The food was so good. The fried pork chop was to die for with a side of brown gravy. The collard green was also good. All the food came out hot. The Pina colada was just ok because it didn't taste like any rum was in it. My husband said that the cat fish was good. And the grits were good. The sweet potatoes hush puppies were ok they could've kept them. Their was so much food that we took the rest home home. Oh, I forgot the waiters she was very nice and very helpful with the menu. It was some pepper in a jar on the table it was good. I wanted to buy a bottle but they don't sell them. They need to build a David's Catfish House in Philadelphia or somewhere closest to us.

First time here. Although our sweet waitress was swamped due to short staff, she was on top of her game. I had the Firehouse Shrimp plate. It was more food than I could eat and was so full of flavor. I will get it again for sure.

We ate here the first night it was opened and it was a disaster. BUT, this time was absolutely awesome, delicious, and wonderful service! Thank you so much for improving.

I don't eat seafood, but my family does. I got the wings. I was extremely surprised by how good they were. Usually, getting something like that at a place that doesn't specialize in it, they aren't the best, but they were great

Okay, folks, here we go again. Well, I was here to celebrate a birthday dinner. I got the seafood platter and it was very good. The catfish was just right, and the stuffed crab was really good, too. Everything that came on the platter was good, but those two were my favorite. Everyone who came to celebrate with us enjoyed their food for the most part. The snowcrab legs were good as well, and to top it all off, they had some very good steak folks, yes! you heard me, steak! Hell, my brother, let me try the steak, and it absolutely melted in my mouth, folk! All I'm saying people is that you have to go try it out for yourself, folks . And the beer off the tap is good too, 😉 . Well, as usual, peeps, this is my opinion, and I suggest that you go get your own. Until next time, folks, I'm out.
