Originally tried Headquarters and my stylist William after they donated a salon gift certificate to a local charity auction 10 years ago and I’ve been coming ever since. The Salon and team are always friendly and the services are awesome. So pleased to see they are celebrating 40 years this month! It’s clear that they are a great community business and wonderful at what they do.
Was excited to see the fun decorations and window painting done by other Des Plaines businesses. Congratulations and thank you for always keeping my cut looking good

Jessica did amazing!! I would definitely recommend they are so nice and pay attention to customer service they gave me a mini care package and they also sell a lot of products for hair. Definitely will be coming back!! 😍

Janet is my stylist and does a fantastic job with color, highlights and my cut. I love how she begins each appointment with a discussion of how the previous cut worked and if I have any specific requests. Headquarters’ team are friendly and welcoming. Always a relaxing visit and a fabulous rest of your day!

Headquarters Design Studio is a special place. All the stylists are excellent, specially William who is not only great but a wonderful human being. What makes this place special is how warm everyone is towards their costumers.

I’m a long time client, but recently had Lisa Barba cut 12 inches and give me a pixie/mop top style. She is experienced and really knows what she’s doing. My friends and family say I look 10 years younger. And I alwAys thought long hair made a person look younger. I guess I was wrong! Thanks Lisa. You can cut my hair anytime!

Small, but mighty! This little gem offers all the perks of an Aveda salon at affordable prices! I have been getting my hair done here for at least 5 years by William and every cut, color and style has been completed with cutting edge skill and professionalism. The salon vibe is easy going and you leave feeling like you have a new friend that just made you look your best!
Update: Still the best, imo. I moved to FL two years ago and make sure I get into the salon for a haircut when I return.

I'm so impressed with Headquarters! and Janet is an amazing stylist. So professional, so friendly. It was such a great experience. Janet really took time to just sit and look at my hair and talk to me about how I wanted it cut and how I prefer to style it every day. She didn't rush me at all. The Aveda products smell so wonderful and are gentle on your hair and I love my new style. The owner even called me to ask how I liked my experience. Great service from the front desk to the owner! After 20 years of going to the same person, I needed a change. I picked this salon and stylist because of the reviews online. The reviews were accurate! William colored and cut my hair and spent time talking to me beforehand as well as “inspecting my hair” and listening to my concerns. I loved the new cut and color. The gal that shampooed my hair I could go to every day; really relaxing! And I was impressed that a few days after my first visit the owner of the salon phoned to ask me about my experience. Great customer care! I will be back. Side note: I dragged my husband with and they were kind enough to give him a cold beverage while he waited.

I have thick, wavy hair, this salon was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I visited Millie for the second time and I will say that Millie is not only a hairdresser, she is a real creator of a good image! I have never met such a committed, focused and dedicated person to what he does. Millie, she will always listen to what I say, I am asking for her opinion and I have the impression that she knows exactly what is good for me and my hair. Besides, she is a polite, non-pushy, nice person, it is a real pleasure to be in her hands. She takes care of every detail, even such that she gave me a disposable mask so that I would not get my hair dirty when dyeing my hair! This is a real treasure of such a hairdresser. Glad you're Millie. In addition, the establishment is clean, well-kept and the staff friendly . I really recommend this salon!

I made a group appointment for myself and my son. My stylist, Janet, was soooo amazing! She was the most patient hair dresser we have ever had. My son is just under 2 years old and isn't the biggest fan of getting his hair cut. Not only did she do a great job with his hair cut and style, but she found ways of keeping him still and calm. That's the first time we've found someone that could do that. My haircut was done to perfection. I came in with a men's hair picture and she NAILED it. I LOVE it. One of the best parts about the cut was the scalp massage that they give before the cut. It is so relaxing. The salon itself is cute and very clean with many options for hair care products. They offer drinks while you wait and everyone that works there is very friendly. We've finally found our salon and stylist for years to come!
