Taylor's Mexican Chili Parlor

Always 5 star. I've been coming since I was a kid. Best chili anywhere in the world. Period. The ladies working are always amazing and so friendly. Only downfall is they are only open 11 am through 2 pm.

It's good to know there is one more constant in life. No matter how long you are away from Carlinville when you return the taste of Taylor's Mexican Chili will be the same as the first time you ate it which for me was when I was in Highschool 40+ years ago. It was great chilli then air is great chilli now. The only difference I saw in the bowl I had today and the ones I remember was there was less grease in the chilli which I liked because it was still packed with flavor.

Went there for the first time today. I really enjoyed it. Good food. Great ambiance/decor. If you're in town, I recommend going here. I'll definitely go back when I'm in town again.

I had the Butterbean Soup and my husband, the Chili. We took home the Vegetable Soup. It all was so good. Would highly recommend this place and it's wonderful soups!!

Have been going to Taylor's my entire life(60+ years) and it's still the best chili in the world! It's changed hands and locations but the one thing that hasn't changed is the quality. The service is great too! Keep up the great work!

Loved this Chili since 1976 while a student at Blackburn! I regularly have my favorite item shipped home!

I’ve been coming to Carlinville since I was a little guy and had never heard of Taylor‘s chili until about 10 or 15 years ago or so when I saw it on a national television show . I finally stopped in the last time I was there in January and bought some chili to go and a case to bring back to Colorado. I love it! I love the story and the history and the location in the historic town square. Two thumbs up! Great chili! Don’t ever change a thing.

I love eating here with my family and also love getting food to go! Brooke is our favorite waitress - she's friendly and always remembers our orders and is happy to be there. The food is great and so are the prices!

Great staff and the chili is even better! It's the best food in town in my family's opinion. They moved to a larger location and there is a wheel chair ramp for anyone needing one. They have both tables and booths. Public restrooms are available. They don't take credit cards at this time.

Rented the side area.....plenty of space for our People. Friendly Establishment. Definitely recommend for your own personal Parties.

Local's recommendation for first-timers: Tell the waitress you want "Butterbean with" The best of both worlds the fabulous Butterbean soup with a large spoonful of the chili meat sauce added on top. The straight chili is very old school made with beef suet. Very tasty but not for everyone. Try a small bowl. Don't be afraid to try the vegetable soup, made with finely diced vegetables in a hearty beef base. Wash down with old fashioned bottled root beer.

Just tried for the first time. Went with the butter bean chili, mmmmm so good!

This place is very quaint, nice folks, very clean,little menu but the food is always really good, hot, affordable nothing is over 10 bucks! Only low perk is they always close at 2pm.

It's a Carlinville institution. You can't visit the square without stopping in. Obviously the chili is famous but I also think they have the best vegetable and butter bean soups ever.

Hadn't been in Carlinville for decades. Visited Taylor's Chili on the square. Same great chili I remember as a kid in the 1960's ✔💞
