Big Iron Horse Barbecue

This place seems like a new, or recently renovated place. It's small, but it has amazing service and even more amazing food! Our server was very attentive to our needs and she kept checking on us throughout our meal. We ordered the granny apple salad, buffalo chicken wrap and pulled pork sandwiches. The fries were amazing as well!

Food is good and the atmosphere is fun, great place to eat or to hang out. We got fish tacos on a Friday and brisket tacos. Kids got a burger Smokehouse Cheddar Burger they said it was delicious and they even ate the vegetables that came with it.

Stopped in and got the Pork & Brisket Combo to go! Sauce was excellent. Meat had a delicious smoky flavor. I will be returning to watch a game or two here. I’ve heard good things about the Ribs and that will be next on my list! Also they have an expansive bar selection, and quite the excellent decor, TVs and friendly staff!

I loved the smoke house BBQ cheddar bugger! The cilantro and the salted pretzel bun complemented each other perfectly with the Big Iron Horse BBQ sauce. This restaurant is quickly becoming my favorite place in Barrington for a bite to eat. I'm a broke college student and this is the one place I overlook price because of the phenomenal service and quality of food!

Good Grief, this is stuff is amazeballs!!! I never in a million years would have paired cilantro with barbecue, but it is damn yummy! Note - the pic I took was after I'd eaten half the sandwich.

The food and appetizers were amazing. Had the brisket and fish tacos and the sides with the both was simply delicious. The homemade salsa along with the guacamole is excellent. The owner Scott is a down to earth guy. If you’re want a affordable priced dinner this is the place to go.

Really enjoyed this place. I had the chipotle tacos and they were great. To be honest, the entire menu looked great, so I'll be back to try more. Loved the whiskey selection. Wife and her friends were offered a flight of whiskey - added bonus. I don't give five stars often, but this place made a great first impression, from the food and drink to the staff and owner.

Found this restaurant online when looking for a quick bite. They were taking reservations through open table so I booked it having never been inside- once getting there, it is a small place (seats maybe 20-30 people) but the inside looks clean and industrial. There are 2 long high top tables, a couple round high top tables and two regular dining tables by the front window. We ordered the chips and salsa and guacamole to start. The chips were awesome!! Could have eaten those for dinner. I wish there was salt on the table to add to the guacamole but we ended up mixing the guac and salsa together and it tasted great. I got the chicken tacos and sweet potato fries and it was awesome. The seasoning on the fries was so unique and delicious I didn't need anything to dip it in. The chicken in the taco tasted well cooked and seasoned. My date had the steak tacos and those were also good. In all, the food was unique and fresh, and we'll definitely be back to try other offerings.

Been there twice and I had the hamburger. It was excellent, the staff are very attentive and the owner is very friendly. It is very clean and It is a very cozy place to eat. Everything I have had there was very good - all made to order. I would definitely go there whenever I am in the area. I recommend the pulled pork tacos and the Hamburgers are to die for! Excellent place!!!

First time here but definitely not the last. Was helped by a great guy named Jason. He was running around serving and bar tending at the same time but didn’t miss a beat! Probably some of the best wings I’ve had in a while as well as impeccable service! Don’t miss this spot, hopefully these guys survive the pandemic and come out on the other side with their BBQ in tact! Will be back for sure!! Thanks Jason!

Super tasty. Owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. All six entrees for our group were right on the money. My "have to get it right" BBQ food is brisket, and it was cooked perfectly with wonderful flavor and fantastic sauce that was excellently complimentary. Small place, but great vibe. Will return ASAP!

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of BBQ here in Chicago, I've been disappointed at many different establishments. In fact I refuse to order ribs from anywhere except one place here in Chicago. When my wife had me come to Big Iron Horse I was pleasantly surprised. The BBQ is outstanding although I still haven't tried the ribs yet. The burnt end and and brisket was incredible so I'm anxious to go back and try the ribs. Make sure when you go you order the chips and salsa, just make sure you don't overdo it and spoil your appetite. I did have to mark a star off because the chicken could use a little work but other than that a GREAT experience. UPDATE, went back and tried the chicken again, either when I originally had it they were having an off night or they have improved the chicken because it was PHENOMENAL. If you enjoy good BBQ and live in the area highly suggest Big Iron Horse

I stopped on my way home from the office to pick up ribs to bring home. Had some excellent craft lager while I waited for the ribs and sides.
The ribs were fall off the bone FANTASTIC and the sides were very tasty as well. The BBQ sauce had a sweet taste and was right on the money. We loved it all.
We will be definitely going back to try other items.
Great place right in downtown Barrington for BBQ. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Food was awesome! Ribs, seasoned sweet potato fries and Mexican corn especially delicious. Atmosphere, service and the owner, Scott, were all great! So happy l found them by chance on line. Definitely recommend going!

The food was fabulous!!! We showed up before our reservation and they really went out of their way to treat us well!! Very friendly people and warm environment. I loved the decor and, like I said before, the food tasted great. I would recommend this restaurant 100%. Making a reservation is a must!

Open again in New location near the old place. Food was great and as tasty as ever. Service was friendly and prompt. Restaurant was clean and stylish. Overall a great experience, excited to go and take others back again! Both beef brisket and pulled pork were amazing 😁

I really like this small quaint place. Great food. Nice beer and wine selection. Only downside they are slow, even on take out orders. I've done a lot of take out and never is it on the time they tell me. But that's ok, the food makes up for it. I write this while ordering something for 5 pm pickup and it's 525. Annoying but don't want to lower star level. I called at 3.

Went for one beer and I ended up trying the texas burger. It was spicy and amazing!! There are so many drink options as well. I went on a Friday not knowing there was live music every Friday and it ended up being much more fun than I planned on having

DELICIOUS! I'm in love with their BBQ! The gelato is outstanding! Hospitality was fantastic! The owner Scott introduced himself and made sure everything was to our liking. The decor was trendy and cozy! I will be back!

We ordered for pickup on Thanksgiving day. Turkey, dressing, vegetables, etc. for 4. Everything was ready promptly and well wrapped. Scott was very helpful on how much to order. Food was excellent and we would definitely do it in the future.
