I was referred to Dr Brebach’s office for surgery on my spine to alleviate the chronic neck pain I was suffering from for years. When I met with Dr Brebach he made me feel incredibly at ease and his bedside manner was impeccable. Post recovery after surgery, all the pain I had been dealing with was gone. Dr Brebach is truly a miracle worker and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is suffering-he saved my life!!! I am forever grateful to him and his staff

I’m adding to my first review below, which was done soon after my surgery. I’m now 3 months post op and doing great! Just got approved to play pickleball and tennis again and had my first games today. Absolutely no discomfort or issues after 90 minutes of court time. Feeling very lucky to have had such a good outcome, given what got me to Dr. Brebach in the first place. Thank you again to Dr Brebach and the entire team. Now, if they could improve my backhand…

I want to thank Dr Brebach and his team for providing such outstanding care for my herniated disk which resulted in a sudden need for surgery. From the moment I arrived at the hospital, I was treated in the most professional and compassionate way possible. My surgery took place 24 hours after I was first seen in the ED, and it was clear that everyone went out of their way to get me through the entire process. My surgery was successful and I am recovering faster than I expected. My thanks to everyone!

Before seeing Dr Brebach I went to see three other Doctors, when I went to see Doctor Brebach he explained in detail about the surgery, I went forward with his recommendations and had the surgery with absolutely no regrets!

Dr. Brebach is awesome! I had been struggling with back and leg pain close to 4 years. He was very informative about my condition, walked me through all the steps and took his time with me. Eventually we decided that fusion was the way to go. I could not be happier with my results. I was walking the next day and after 2-4 weeks of recovery all of my pain from the condition was gone. It has now been 12 months and I have returned to full activity. I can walk for miles with no discomfort or pain. I have returned to weight lifting and most of all sleep through the night without any pain waking me up. His staff was attentive and caring.

I had done my research and also read some negative reviews here but this was not my case or experience at all with him. He is an excellent surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Brebach has become one of my most trusted and favorite people. He has done amazing spinal surgery on me but, I think, possibly more important is the aftercare he (and Allison) have given me. I feel very grateful for all they’ve done for me.

From the first visit to my continuity appointments, I knew I made the right decision on going with Dr. Brebach. His staff is great to work with, my questions are always answered, my phone calls returned in a timely manner. I had a ACFD performed on my neck, sections C 4-5-6-7. I’m post-op 7 weeks, tho I have a while to go, I feel amazing! Thank you Dr.B for getting me back to my normal self…highly recommend, greatly appreciated!

Dr Brebach is a patient-focused physician and surgeon with phenomenal bedside manner and expert skill. He provides you with the tools and knowledge to go through your personal health journey. While I hope to not need his services in the future, I wouldn’t hesitate to seek his help again!

I had a four disc fusion April 3, 2023. Dr. Brebach did an excellent job. I am three weeks out of surgery right now and things are healing up nicely. Dr. Brebach isn’t the best at going slow or explaining things but his assistant Allison is awesome regardless of that Dr. Brebach is an excellent surgeon and I would recommend him.

Dr. Brebach found the source of my pain on an x-ray that others had missed for over 7 years and he was convinced that he he could get me out of pain. I’ll be forever thankful. Even another spinal surgeon had missed it 2 weeks previously and told me there was nothing he could do for me. I’m glad I got a second opinion. I thought I was going crazy. I literally cried in the car while I drove home. How would you have reacted after 7 years of “there’s nothing we can do for you” ?

Dr. Brebach has been my doctor for 16 years. I highly recommend him for anything spine related. He is very personable and informative with all his patients. All around great guy!!

Dr. Brebach is absolutely amazing! The only one I trust with the care of my back. He is a no nonsense doctor, with your Well-being always first. He has been my doctor for almost 15 years. He took care of me in my late 20’s when I needed surgery on my lower back, feel confident in him and the surgery, which I would not have been able to function without. Not only was the surgery a success, I had instant relief of symptoms I had dealt with for over a year. To now in my 40’s he is still taking care of me and the health of my back.

Dr. Brebach changed my life! As a 30yo mother with low back pain I had not been taken seriously by any doctor. After months of PT without relief and begging my prior ortho for help, I sought out a second opinion with Dr. Brebach at Illinois Bone and Joint and I'm so thankful I did. I am now 4+ weeks post-op L5-S1 microdiscectomy and am completely pain free. I hurt my back originally at 16. I’ve lived with pain most of my life but the last few years it’s been significant. Radiating pain down both legs, weakness… I was a mess. I avoided surgery for years. I finally had to give in before I could just not walk anymore. Dr. Brebach saved my life. Today, 6 months post surgery, I’m living again. I have no pain at all, I’m active, busy, and I’m back in the gym. As a health and wellness professional I would recommend Dr. Brebach over and over. He truly cares about his patients and I’ve never felt so safe in a surgeons hands.

Dr. Brebach is an excellent spine surgeon who has successfully taken me through two lumbar laminectomies with fusion. His credentials are impeccable. Allison Carlson PA-C is a vital component of this team. She is involved in every procedure, start to finish. Allison returns all phone calls and messages promptly and is a tremendous communicator of highly complex issues. I would be remiss if I did not include their staff in this recommendation. Staff members work equally hard to ensure that no question or message goes unseen. As a patient of this entire team, I can honestly say I’ve always felt well cared for and never worried that I had somehow gotten lost in the shuffle. That alone is a great comfort when dealing with something as daunting as spine surgery!

Dr. Brebach cares so much about his patients. Takes extra time with them each visit to really build a relationship. I’m 28 and this is my third back surgery in 3 years. I had a surgeon out of Rush and literally felt rushed to get in and out of there. Dr. Brebach always made sure to talk through how I was feeling and make me feel like I was valued. He is amazing! One month post op and I’m feeling great!
