Carlos's Mexican Grill

We absolutely love Carlos's. The food is always delicious and is ready pretty quickly. They are our go-to for tacos. They are fairly priced and the service is always good.

AAAA+ Best Mexican food in our area‼Authentic 100%. I went with a friend that always raved about the food. I'm so glad we went. We had Nachos with ground beef + guacamole. Steak Enchiladas, Chicken Taco dinner chicken perfectly flavored. I brought steak fajitas to my husband. He was floored and loved all of it🤗 Thank you again. Thinking of when I will return it was soon good.

Many places I been visiting around USA.
This place the service it’s WOW. she’s friendly she know how to treat customers.
Well here it’s the problem. A Mexican place with no soups. No coffee not even now on winter time.
The food I ordered was good. Huevos rancheros.
Please just add some soups to the menu and coffee. That’s very simple. Thanks

Delicious food! Big portions. Lots of items on the menu. Friendly staff. It's our new family restaurant! Look forward to trying all the yummy items on the menu.
The dinning area is small, the only bad thing. But we've not had to wait for a table.
Really want to try the fried ice cream!

Carlos Mexican Grill in fox lake today to grab a late lunch on my way back home. Fox Lake across from Thortons in the strip mall.
Service was outstanding! I’ve heard complaints at other locations, not Fox Lake. Very helpful and patient.
Restaurant was very clean. The empty tables were all ready for customers to come in to eat.

Decent amount of parking for the strip mall.

Menu is laid out nicely. Good variety. Prices are competitive depending on what you get. I didn’t notice anything extremely expensive or inexpensive. I think maybe their fajitas are priced lower than other restaurants in the area. I usually prefer to stay to eat fajitas so maybe next time.

Food was not only delicious BUT FILLING! Omgshhhh… I ate half and had to take a nap to sleep 💤 off my full tummy! Not complaining because the other half was dinner. — eating lunch at Carlos Mexican Grill in fox lake.

Amazing food and service. Its better to pick up and not so much sit down though. Really good food tho for great prices! Highly recommend this place! 👌

Tried Carlos's for the first time tonight. Ordered 3 Steak Tostadas with xtra lettuce and 6 Hardshell Steak tacos. Store was clean, staff was warm and friendly, and atmosphere is inviting. I Was acknowledged right when I walked in. I ordered to go and it was done PERFECT! The shells are obviously homemade and authentic. THEY ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. This place is so good it will be hard to go back to other places for Mexican Food in the Fox Lake area again. There simply isn't a close second. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and the price value almost makes it absurd. Unbelievably good. Oh and the sauce........... Off The Chain.

Finally giving a review after coming here, every week, for well over 10 years, Outstanding. Sitting here at my desk I decided to weigh my chicken nachos... 2lbs 3oz. They are always friendly. Food never disappoints, ever. I used to frequent all the Mexican restaurants here in Fox lake. They are all very good. But I just have no need to go anywhere else.

This is my new and favorite Mexican restaurant. Have tried many of their dishes and they are always excellent. Can't wait to try the carne asada! Yummers

Hubby and I we're not expecting much after being disappointed at the 3 other Mexican restaurants near us, but we we're pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food!! Flautas were AMAZING and I have it on good authority the king steak burrito was excellent as well. We have found our go to Mexican restaurant!!

Any thing you order at Carlos's is good.!!!! One of my son and I favorite Mexican places to eat!!!!!

Such great food, a sweet owner, and always consistent. I was even short once and she insisted on me taking the entire dinner when I was willing to pay A La Carte. Times are better now God Bless, but I always remember the DELISCIOUS Enchiladas, and the kindness. Carlos gets an A+ from this Chef of 24yrs!

ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOVE this place!!! I have been going here since they opened. Introduced my wife to this place and now it's her favorite Mexican restaurant as well as mine!!! AMAZING food!! Great staff!!! I will be coming here as long as I can and as much as I can!!

Authentic Mexican food served here. We were just driving through and need to eat so we stopped in. First off we noticed how friendly this place is. Everyone you made contact with smiles and said hi. Place didn’t look like much but they hit it out of the park with good food and hospitality. My go to at a New Mexican restaurant is Chili Rellenos and it was spot on, very satisfied. Wife ordered Taco Salad and loved it, the serving are large enough to take some home for another meal. Salsa and chips were good, the chips were very light and airy with a perfect crunch. The salsa verde and salsa Roja for tacos were both tasty with a little heat. Overall we were very pleased with our meals and really enjoyed watching the staff interacting with customers. Definitely recommend stopping in if you love Mexican food. Top notch.

There is one huge issue with this place, figuring out what to order. I've been getting carryout from here recently and everything I try is better than the previous. It's all tasty, quick and filling.
If I were to come up with a complaint it would be the salsa for the chips could be a little thicker and a little spicier. It is really good how it is though, and super fresh.

I've went to many different places for tacos, but this place has such delicious tacos...😋😋 Plus their steak quesadillas are amazing, omg, I'm starting to drool just thinking about them....😆😆😆

We are new to the area so we are exploring different restaurants and boy are we glad we came to this place.

Place is small but you can dine In.
Food is excellent, very authentic and fresh. Chips and salsa were good.
I ordered carne asada special and it was delicious. They gave me a nice thick piece of steak, well cooked. The rice beans also delicious.

My BF ordered the enchiladas and they were full of flavor. Horchata drink was good.
The pickled jalapeños and carrots were also yummy.

Definitely recommend.
