After over a month of dealing with a work related issue and insurance difficulties, McHenry Smile Center not only scheduled me for an appointment the day after my case worker made the time to call, but also fought tooth and nail to get me an appointment with a dental surgeon that they trust. Cheryl sat me down, explained everything and called my insurance herself to make sure I got what was best for me. This office goes above and beyond for each and every patient and will always have my gratitude for their attention to detail and devotion to me as a person. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I would 100% recommend anyone and everyone to join the McHenry Smile Center family.

So grateful for this practice!!! I went to this practice for just shy of 20 years. My insurance switched and the dentist office was no longer in network. After speaking to the insurance company and being told I had to go in network, off I went to Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons (by Woodmans). BIG MISTAKE! They ended up doing a lot of work on my teeth, very aggressive in treatment and yet extremely conservative in the work. After many and I mean many visits to have the work done, I left Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons crying due to how painful and long the dentist trips were. I was so traumatized that I called up McHenry Smile Center right after the last session at Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons, explained through tears to Cheryl what happened and that I still had a tooth that needed a crown on (tooth was already prepped) but that I couldn’t trust Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons to finish. I would pay 100% out of pocket if Dr. Sturt could give me a 2nd opinion. Not only did Cheryl and Dr. Sturt get me in 20 min later, the office wasn’t even technically opened yet for the day! Him and Cheryl comforted me and then reviewed the work done. He gave me his opinion on what needed to be done. I asked him if he could finish the crown for me. Cheryl informed me that it wasn’t going to be much, if any, extra cost to me but that the insurance company didn’t tell me that because it costs the insurance company more money for me to go out of network (it didn’t even cost me extra in the end). I might have been gullible believing Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons that I needed the work, I actually didn’t need the work they performed, but that is because I was so used to my dentist (Dr. Sturt and his team) always doing what was best for me and not what would make them the most money. I cannot thank Dr. Sturt, Cheryl, and team enough!
On a happy side note, my 4 year old still can’t stop raving about how awesome the office was decked out for Halloween!!! Absolutely incredible.

Dr. Sturt is the absolute best dentist! He does an amazing job and is so kind and caring with regards to his patients! His dental work is impeccable! Before I found him, I had non-stop issues with dental work failing, and for over a decade of coming to McHenry Smile Center I actually enjoy my visits because he makes you feel so relaxed. He takes care of my entire family and I
would recommend him to anyone!

We recently switched to McHenry Smile Center and we have had great experiences. Dr. Sturt was able to fix an implant that another dentist messed up terribly. He also got us in right away for an emergency visit and took great care of us. Love love the office staff! So very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable!

Dr. Sturt is an attentive dentist and has a terrific sense of humor. My five year old son absolutely loves going as well.

Dr Stuart and staff have always been amazing. My family has been going to him for over twenty years. My mom who is a stroke survivor needs special care. Dr Stuart and his staff have always taken extra care of her.

My family and I have been patients of Dr Sturt for the past 5 years. In the past I have had bad experiences with dentists so I am picky about who we see. Dr Sturt has a funny dry sense of humor and a judicious approach to dental care. He does not try to over treat or under treat any issues. I have never needed to come back to fix any issues with his work. I trust his judgement completely. We highly recommend this dentist practice.

My son and I love this place!!! I took my 3 year old in with fear of how his first dentist visit would go. He was complaining of a tooth ache on and off so I figured he had a cavity. Everyone was so great! He loved it there and stayed so still for them to clean and look at his teeth. They handled him perfectly and explained everything so he had nothing to fear. Turns out he had 3 cavities. They were able to get all 3 taken care of with my son still loving the dentist! They really are the best and great for kids who are fearful or new to the dentist experience. Everyone is so nice and personable there too! So happy I found them.

My family and I have been going here for years. The staff is very friendly. Dr. Sturt is upbeat, energetic and fun to be around. Cheryl does her very best to accommodate your needs (scheduling, insurance…etc). I certainly recommend them!

Extremely kind and considerate staff. Beautiful office and everything is extraordinarily clean and comfortable. The fish tank when you walk in is just lovely and mesmerizing. A very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Tabitha was extremely friendly and very informative. I will absolutely be back. Just ask for Dusty Rose and they will take care of you!

Have not been to a Dentist in 30 years.
My 3 visits have been mostly painless plus the Staff and Doc Sturt have a great sense of humor BUT more importantly they know what they are doing!!!
They understand my insurance (Delta Dental) so billing is easy.
They send a bunch of reminders so missing an appointment is difficult.
The dental work itself is thorough with complete breakouts of my needs/options. I do not feel any pressure to undergo any additional or optional procedures.
Trying to get my wife to switch to them so I definitely would recommend to family and friends!

Recently had my wisdom teeth extracted here. This has honestly been the most pleasant experience I have ever had with a doctor or dentist! They made me feel super comfortable, the anesthesiologist (I believe his name was Adam) was super friendly and so were all of the others who helped with the extraction. The secretary's and nurses are super polite and they checked up on me a few days after to make sure there wasn't any complications! I definitely recommend them!

Most people are afraid of clowns, I'm afraid of dentists. Anyone who has served in the Marines, knows my pain. This office has the friendliest staff, make you laugh, and the dentist here is amazing. I have been bringing my kids here since at least 2014, and every now and again I work up the courage to sit in the chair myself. I was just in there today for some work, and it was completely pain free. I have been, and will always be a customer.

If you want a great dentist who works at a reasonable price and will give you exactly what you need, this is the dentist for you. I use him for myself, my wife, my daughter and my son. My daughter is absolutely paranoid of getting her teeth checked and he makes her feel at ease by providing her with headphones, music, and a teddy bear to squeeze to ease her fears. Her first time there, she was rather scared and screamed at the noise of the dental instruments. Not once did he panic, yell or lose his cool. He even took an extra two appointment slots without charging extra to take care of her and to ease her fears. The next two times she saw him, she was still nervous but the bear and the music (promise of a toy from the toy chest) and his calm demeanor got her in and out with no effort.

He does not judge his patients and tells you what needs to be done without the long lecture of why you need to do what you do. He lets you make your own choices and never ever gives you a procedure that you don't need.

His staff is friendly, quick and put you at ease. They understand that few people like the dentist and do everything possible to make you feel comfortable from beginning to end. I am not a fan of dentists but this one is worth every penny for his skill and bedside manner.
