McHenry VFW Post 4600

We had the most amazing experience here! We had a last minute change of plans and I called Debbie and she worked her magic and she got us in to the VFW. Not only did she help us in that end she helped us prepare and helped us in any way possible. She was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend working with her! I will be doing future events here! Thank you Debbie for being our angel! On top of all this the food was absolutely amazing and all of the guests raved about it! I do not have enough amazing things to say about this place! Thank you for everything! ❤

My mom had my baby shower at the VFW this past weekend and everything from the food to the service and overall atmosphere was amazing! We were in the Cedar Room, which was very clean and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and not be super congested. I would definitely recommend the VFW for any events!

Had the best fish fry ever last night! Wow was it good. Our waitress was so nice and I wish we had gotten her name....
If you are looking for great food, I definitely recommend it here!!!

Been at this VFW before to see musical acts and dancing. First time for dinner. Very surprised at the variety on the menu. Good beer and wine choices too. Food was very goodand the staff was attentive and friendly. We will be back and will eat again.

Also located onsite are the McHenry Baseball Association baseball fields for youth baseball in the area.

Great place to be in the summer time. I played baseball here when as a kid and now get to enjoy watching my sons play here.

I went for their 1/2 price burger special on Thursday. I tried their Bacon Cheddar burger. It was one of the best burgers I’ve tasted in a long time! The burgers are HUGE and comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, & a pickle. Better than Culver’s. I also got a coke which comes with a free refill. Definitely worth the money. If you’re looking for a good place to have lunch, I recommend checking them out.

Great Friday fish fry. They allow you to get fried and/or baked so I ordered both.

Kudos to the volunteers at the VFW during the Queen of Hearts draw. So many weeks of madness and it was handled so well. When I was there for tickets, I was in and out in 30 minutes.

A great place to gather with friends and make new ones.

Great ball fields. The grounds are clean and well taken care of. It's just a nice place to watch a little league game.

I tell ya I have never been to a VFW of this magnitude. It is awesome 👍 now mind you I haven't visited that many VFW's as a rule except a handful in small town MN.
Went to a craft sale in McHenry IL at the local VFW. Nice community room, hall type set up. I see in the next room a dining room type area. Then on further a huge bar. A wide variety of tap selections on both sides of the large oval bar. Gambling room off to one side from the bar. Pull tabs in machines in the bar area but you play blind. No flare sheets posting winners left or even if they've all been redeemed.
There's a beautiful outside patio area with umbrella tables. At end of bar area is a wall of windows n entry to another bar area with high top tables (which I'm Not a fan of) used for other functions and beyond that another room with a fireplace.

Fun place! Queen of hearts 2 mill!!!! Food in awesome!

Great group of people, they made the Pack 455 cub scouts feel very welcome!

The fish fry was amazing! Great price for how much you get and the quality of the food. Normally don't like potato pancakes too much but, they were fantastic. Highly recommend coming here to eat. Super friendly staff, too!

Open to the public. Good food for a fair price. Sometimes they have specials like 1/2 price pizza on Sundays. A variety of beers on tap or in bottles. Outdoor beer garden. Very friendly staff.

We went here to buy raffle tickets and decided to have lunch. We had burgers, cooked the way we asked, perfectly paired with a brioche bun, the home made chips are so good! Everyone was super friendly. As busy as it was, our waiter was attentive with a smile. We're going back next week!

This is the first time I was there but it was a wonderful and comfortable experience. Service was prompt, the menu had some great selections, and the food was good. I will continue to visit until I have tried more. I recommened the mozzarella log if one is feeling adventurous.

Never had a bad experience. The prime rib on Saturdays. Yum. The meat raffle we attended was full of fun and shenanigans. Keep up the great job.

I really like this place because it has a large variety of food the service was really nice.
