Super delicious food, top notch service and a great location. The bone-in pork chop was very tasty and the homemade ice cream, vanilla with hot fudge was a dream. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back.

Wow! A lovely restaurant with great food and a very nice team. The food is real soul food (Avocado Dream and Lavender Lemon Cake). If there was breakfast tomorrow morning, we would have stayed right there or come back tomorrow. 😉

We had the most delicious meal in the most relaxing atmosphere looking out on the Mississippi river. I, like sweet drinks, and I had the most delectable French martini made by Autumn. We had chicken salad on croissants & ham and pineapple soup. For dessert I had homemade vanilla ice cream, and Hot fudge. But my husband had crapes filled with orange cream sauce. And those were incredible. I highly recommend this place. Just wonderful!

The historic house provided a wonderful atmosphere and a great view of the Mississippi below. Ordered cocktails, salmon, turkey dinner, and chocolate chip cookie with ice cream dessert. Everything was delicious! They had local spirits from Mississippi River Distilling. I ate just the right amount of food. As a garlic lover, the garlic salad was awesome! My husband could have eaten more, but was satisfied with the quality of food.

My main measure of a restaurant is "do we want to return?" The resounding answer here is absolutely yes. Such a lovely location and atmosphere. The service was a little scattered for a not full restaurant but the food was excellent. Looking forward to trying other items on future visits.

Had lunch here the other day. Lovely view of the Mississippi River
Dining atmosphere is unique as its in and old mansion, loved looking around during lunch and noticing architectural details. Food was excellent. Soup of the day was a cheesy corn chowder which I have never had anywhere else and was delicious. Everyone I was dining with loved the food they ordered. Service was excellent and friendly.

Amazing food, atmosphere, and service! My husband and I are from Florida and always like to dine in unique places. This did not disappoint 👏. I am a vegetarian and absolutely loved the featured pumpkin soup, beet salad, and hummus and asparagus sandwich! My husband ordered the meatloaf and potatoes which were seasoned perfectly and so delicious! And don't forget dessert! We ordered the orange 🍊 crepes which were fabulous! Highly recommend dining here.

History surrounds you with a commanding view of the Mississippi River from the bluff above downtown LeClaire, Iowa. The spacious front dining rooms feature original floors, wood work and fireplaces of the beautiful Dawley House constructed in 1851 and is on the National Historic Register (1979). The board of fare changes frequently with specials & seasonal offerings. The food is expertly prepared, seasoned well and very few menu items are not homemade in the house kitchen. The food each visit has been hot and pleasingly presented. The bar is well appointed with several huge windows overlooking the Mississippi River. The bar is also well appointed with a high quality and selection of offering. Cleanliness is obviously a priority here! The staff is very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. It is a special experience to dine here and is certainly a reflection of the managing ownership's committment to excellence. WELL DONE 'CRANE & PELICAN'! KUDOS!!!

What a wonderful little spot right on the Mississippi River in LeClaire Iowa. The owner was quite nice and very easy to talk to. The food was good and the ambiance splendid. I can just imagine a wonderful snowy winter evening having a nice dinner in this ancient old river house.

Some things are totally meant to be, even when they happen by accident! Call it Devine intervention that at the last second we killed plans to have Mexican for dinner and wound up on the back porch at the Crane & Pelican! Sitting here with a belly full of Pelican pickle Dip, Cajun Pasta and Lavendar Lemon cake! Oh, and I failed to mention, we happened to come through, traveling Grinnell to Chicago, on a Thursday night...Live Jazz on the lawn Thursday! Hence settling on the back porch! OK, but wait, on top of all this, we were served by a gentleman named Autumn, voted Server of the year in the STATE OF IOWA!! And boy howdy, was he!!! Like I said...Devine dinner intervention!!

We hosted a birthday party for my wife here and the service was fantastic. The food was exceptional. Also they do wine pairing dinners which are also just a hoot to go to. The owner Mandy is amazing, inclusive and did everything she could to make my wife's 40th birthday. An incredible event. Support local!

Such a welcoming and charming spot overlooking the Mississippi. Staff are prepared to figure out gluten free and dairy free options. Delicious food! And an lgbtq safe space!

Excellent range of food for large and small appetites, friendly and knowledgeable service. The smaller rooms reduce ambient noise and allow intimate conversation.

Nice restaurant in an old, converted river boat captain's home. Had the Lobster mac n' cheese, it was very good! Extra star for having a Rusty Nail on the drink menu!

Never disappointed! The food is amazing and always tastes fresh, like the entire kitchen was only working on my meal. Im always eager to try a feature, but the meatloaf and mushroom risotto is hard to beat. Great atmosphere and always greeted with a smile.
