Now This Is A Burrito!
We have been going to Tacos El Norte as part of our regular dining out rotation for years and they never disappoint. The ladies behind the counter and also serving are super pleasant and friendly, always greeting diners with a smile, a warm Hello! and Sit Wherever You Like. I am a burrito fan and after this visit I had to post this. Burritos come three ways. All three come with a flour tortilla, filled with chicken or beef, lettuce, tomato, not too many beans and cheese for $8.99. You can also order it as Burrito Suizo Especial which also includes guacamole and sour cream, then topped with a ranchero sauce and melted cheese - our favorite way for $12.40! And for those that are super hungry, try the Papi Burrito Especial for $12.99. A mega tortilla wrap that comes out looking like a ranchero and cheese topped football. Onions and cilantro can be added by request to any of these. Large condiment bottles of homemade red and green sauces are brought to the table and use as much as you like. I prefer the green as the red is just a little to spicy for me. As my picture shows, the regular Burrito Especial is huge and we order it so we can bring home half to eat the next day. You know this place is the real deal and priced right when you see the volume of carry out business they do at dinner time. Burrito fans - give them a try.

Very authentic. They don't fill your burritos up with beans, like most places. They also have fantastic texmex as well.

Love this place for having lunch! The staff is really friendly and the food is great. The atmosphere and music is authentic and I feel at home here.

My favorite fish is the Torta Cubana and I'm proud I'm among the few of my friends who can finish it all in one sitting. Some people would find it to be a bit oily though so be warned. We tried the shrimp taco too and it was great as well.

I recommend getting the Jarritos instead of Coke products as they're like fizzed juices which is a very different feeling. My favorite would be the Apple Jarritos.

Best place in McHenry to purchase Tacos with a large Menu. Prices are not outrageous and has fast friendly service on my takeout order. I've tried others in and around McHenry and this one ranked #1

This place is the real deal. It’s perfect seasoning and the taste is even better than in Mexico. Try it and you will fall in love with this place.

Me and my husband has been going to this place for about 20 years! The food is always excellent! The owner and her husband are very friendly as well as the staff! We always get Wavo Rancho's for breakfast delicious! Plus we love Burrito Sauza in pork and chicken! WE love Margarita the owner and her husband the cook! We miss Margarita very friendly! Highly wreck a mend this place!

Great service, very friendly and quick. I do enjoy the al pastor tacos with homemade tortillas. I enjoyed the flour more than the corn tortillas as they had great flavor. The red sauce is better than the green and i really enjoyed it, a bit spicy. They offer alcohol as well.

The steak tacos are so damn tasty. Service was super fast, even at lunchtime. Will definitely come back here!

This Mexican specialty restaurant is located on Rt 120 in a plaza anchored by Angelo’s supermarket in McHenry. There is seating outside as well as inside weather permitting. We had eaten previously at another Tacos el Norte in Libertyville so were familiar with the menu selections. And that is what makes this restaurant the place we would recommend to anyone who loves Mexican food! The guacamole dip is fresh with creamy surprises that survive chip after chip scoopfuls, the salsa is tip of the tongue tart tasty! Today’s vegetables are sprinkled with spices to work up your appetite and there is the fresh tang of each of the individual ingredients in your selected menu items! You don’t expect this quality of fast food service, this delicious mix of fresh hot cooked food, this level of choice ingredients right off the highway tucked into the plaza businesses waiting to serve an authentic Mexican feast fresh off the grill to you! The family business and friendly servers are guaranteed to please your taste buds and to provide some of the best hospitality in McHenry County! We look for little diners to enjoy eating in and to help thrive against the commercial enterprises, and this one rates return visits and calls for carry outs! Great food is the best advertisement a restaurant can have~ great people know how to deliver delicious meal after delicious meal with snap and a smile!
