This is by far my most favorite lighthouse I've visited. The employees were knowledgeable and shared so many neat stories. This is the lighthouse used in the movie Forest Gump! Local artists were getting set up to create. We saw seals here too!

RUN FORREST! RUN!!! Such a cool, scenic light with a fun, famous history for being in an iconic scene of the popular classic movie Forrest Gump. During low tide, I was able to get down on the rocks below and peek into tide pools for sealife. I only spotted snails, but the rocks down there were amazing. So many patterns and colors and types. Any geology buff would be thrilled to explore these tidal shore rocks.

What a place and what a feeling it gave me.
This place is like a memory watching the movie Forrest Gump as a kid. When I was actually here the feeling is so surreal. It’s a beautiful feeling. The drive is fantastic, excellent scenery.

A special treat to visit The Marshall Point Lighthouse on my New England east coast tour. The property includes the lighthouse, a lovingly restored 1880’s keeper’s house, summer kitchen, a recently reconstructed late 19th century barn, and the original oil house.
The lighthouse has featured in many commercial photo shoots and in the movie Forest Gump featuring Tom Hanks, whose character concluded his cross-country run on the runway of Marshall Point Lighthouse. In the museum, visitors will find documentation on the filming of the movie as well as a gift shop offering a variety of gifts for all ages, including: clothing, jewelry, housewares, books, and toys. Highly recommended when in the Port Clyde area!

We walked to the Lighthouse from Port Clyde, a fairly easy walk. The museum was very interesting and John (volunteer) was full of knowledge and stories; very friendly! While we were there, a Model T Ford group stopped by. Highly recommend this lighthouse when in or near Port Clyde!

Stopped in to check out the lighthouse during a drive along the coast. A very picturesque location with a fabulous view of coastal Maine. The lighthouse museum had a great collection of historic items regarding the lighthouse and surrounding area.

Beautiful lighthouse as seen in Forrest Gump. Well worth a visit on sunny day. There are portaloo toilets, small museum and gift shop.

Interesting little lighthouse with many tales and artifacts. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly - a very cool experience.

FYI - there are a few HC and non-HC parking spaces at the lighthouse itself - beyond the little parking lot at the entrance.

This lighthouse park is beautiful, we had a picnic and enjoyed the view. A Forest Gump scene was filmed on the footbridge to the lighthouse and people enjoy reenacting it.
The museum and gift shop is very nice.

Even in the rain this was a nice Lighthouse to visit. The museum on site was informative. The gift shop was cute with a lot of little trinkets available for purchase. The volunteers are helpful and very nice.

Nice little lighthouse. It's working, and the entrance is free, they just ask for donations.
Nice views and interesting experience for all ages.

One of our favorite places to visit in the area. As the light changes throughout the day different aspects are highlighted which, for us anyway, make each visit new and enjoyable. There is parking for a few vehicles right at the museum in the former light keepers house but most parking is a short walk away.

First time going there and I must say I was not disappointed! Absolutely breathtaking views, perfect for taking your friend's and family, don't forget your hat, water and sunglasses as there isn't much in terms of area's to shelter from the hot sun.

Beautiful place to hang out & enjoy the beautiful Atlantic ocean. Super scenic. No charge to visit was a huge plus! The day we visited was mostly clear sky's with a little fog in the distance. Made for a great side trip along Maine's coastline.
