Windward Cottages

Because of Covid-19, we tried to stay away from the hotel, and chose to stay in a rented cottage for our second trip to Maine. The place is neat and clean; Oliver is a great manager who thought of everything beforehand. The view is good; there are boats, kayaks, right on the beach. It is such an excellent stay that we already told 3 families to try it next year.

Cottages are clean and roomy. Full size oven was nice. Wifi was great.. Right on the water. Chairs,grill, canoe easy to use. Ollie was a great host. Wish we would have booked a longer srltay

Perfect little getaway. Good location. Clean friendly cozy. It is also off the road unlike many other places. All your amenities are there to cook. Have a nice big pot of coffee with fried eggs and toast in the morning. Fyi had to make a few calls, use internet which from the best cabin I think which is cabin 3 if you want a few trees. Internet and phone was a bit of a slow or disconnected challenge... "can you hear me now type situation." But we brought our system for our TV shows hulu etc. just fine in the evening ( tv... had just enough ports in back yay.)

This place was awesome! The view is worth the stay. Oh and the cottage was lovely as well. Hehe. Windward Cottages is worth checking out!! The owner was very welcoming and friendly.

Our second consecutive year staying at Windward and we love this place. Quiet setting with all the amenities you need.

We stayed in the 3 bed cabin it was wonderful and the location was idyllic

The best in Bar Harbor!

Just visiting friends staying there this week, though have personally stayed here 3 other times over an 8 year period. However it's been 10 years since out last stay here, the cozy cottages all look to be as well cared for since out first stay here 18 years ago. Ollie has meticulously maintained these cottages for many years. Only real downside is the mosquitoes can get pretty bad in this area at times. Bring a screen enclosure just to be safe if you want to sit outside watching the changing of the tides. Be sure to take a canoe or kayak out into the cove far enough to have the harbor seals come to see you. Windward even has canoes and kayaks you can use to do this with.

Convenient to all attractions on MDI. Ollie is a very likeable and helpful landlord. Location itself is on water and offers free use of canoes and kayaks. Price is reasonable, all appliances and amenities are as advertised. Buildings are rather old but comfortable. Quiet and tranquil location.
