This was such a beautiful place for an easy hike. We loved that it wasn't crowded and the views at the end were breathtaking! Make sure check the rocky areas in the water for seals!

We came here to do some spring birding and we're not disappointed - warblers everywhere! Beautiful trails wind through woods and meadow to the rocky shore line. We saw very few other people and we were there the Sunday before Memorial Day.

Was a fun hike through the woods to the water. Got caught in rain on the way back but it gave it a great atmosphere all around. Saw two deer as well in the preserve.

Such a magical place. Forest trails, rocky shores, beautiful views. We had the place all to ourselves.

Bit of a hidden gem. Lots of marine life if you time it right and know where to look. Fairly secluded which is nice if you don't like the crowds of some of the Acadia spots.

The 3 mile hike there and back was a small price to pay for such a beautiful view😍😍😍😍🤔🤗🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩🤓

Definitely a challenging hike if you choose to go through the woods. Our kids were shot by the time we got back to the car. We took part of the shore path and went to the water at our first chance. We found TONS of crabs, a few seagulls, and some periwinkle snails. We also saw one snake in the woods. There were no tide pools, but the ocean was shallow enough for wading quite a ways out. The kids said it was their favorite beach.

Edit: Apparently there was high ozone and being outdoors was discouraged on the day we went. So maybe it was a less challenging hike than our experience.

We made the Preserve the first hike of our annual vacation on MDI two years ago. I had read the reviews of the trail and that it had no views and a lot of roots. So not favoring that, we went down the road. Very easy hike to the shore. Some nice chairs are provided at some spots. We didn't see any seals the day we went, but still a worthwhile visit. Great views!

This is a great quiet hidden gem away from the bustling crowds of Acadia National Park. Since Indian point preserve is not part of the national Park it draws less attention from tourists and offers a much more secluded and quiet hike out to the ocean. The trail itself is gorgeous and mossy and the beach is full of large rocks to climb on and explore several small tide pools. Though we did not see any seals, many locals say it's a great spot to look for them. I recommend going just before low tide.

One hell of a hike just to see seals. Rainstorm didn't stop us.. shout out to Kevin for hanging with me and the girls effort.

It was great. Two other cars in the lot but never saw anyone. Wear your hiking boots- lots of roots and rocks. Google maps does not take you to the trailhead, it wants you to go beyond the parking lot, but easy to see where you should go. Very quiet trail on a very busy island!

Nice hike in, not strenuous but often uneven. Saw several seals but binoculars helped; saw two deer, osprey, and heard an interesting bird we couldn't identify. Found crabs at the shoreline feeding on squid. Ocean breeze was perfect; definitely bring the bug spray for the woods.

Well worth the trip to this little known site with an awesome feeling of seclusion at trails edge. Off the beaten path from most of Mt. Desert Island but pretty easy to get to. 1mi. one way to shoreline, with a steep descent about half way in, but mostly level to start and finish. Abundance of tree roots and rocky narrow trail. Our 5yr. old handled it well, but you may want to rethink it for kids under 5 or around that age if they have little hiking experience. Most of the trail is shaded. Thanks to the TNC for preserving this gem.

Beautiful. Nice and quite, less visited than the national Park. We saw some seals in the distance. The beach was Rocky like most of the others, but with a wide variety of rocks.

The most amazing moss I've seen in my life. The trail is relatively easy with rocks, slippery roots, and some hills but no scrambles. The suggested donation is $2.

Had the place to ourselves at sunset on a Saturday night. Unbelievable sunset and 40-50 seals were swimming and jumping around in the water. Got a little scary walking back in the dark, even with a headlamp

Fantastic place, saw a couple seals. I had a great experience finding a starfish here when I was a kid a couple decades ago. Highly recommend stopping by!!
