Harsens Island Schoolhouse Grille

OMG! The burger was awesome!!!! My wife had the perch sandwich and liked hers just as much. Great service, the Owner is so personable and our food came out in about 10 minutes. Winter or Summer, the food and service remain unchanged!!!!

What an amazing find! The food is prepared from scratch. All ingredients are fresh and cooked to perfection. The service is great and the atmosphere is very relaxed. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and the weekend when the weather allows; they do brick oven pizza; which you should not miss! The outdoor seating reminds me of ranch dinners in California. They always have special events and special menu items especially at the weekend. I highly recommend that you make reservations before you go because the place gets very busy.

We went the the Schoolhouse Grill for a birthday party. The owners bought this old elementary school and converted it to a restaurant. When we arrived we first met one of the owners and she explained to us the history of the school. The dining rooms are decorated to keep some of that history alive. Although we ate food was prepared just before our arrival, it was good food. The staff was very friendly and we had a very nice time. It's definitely a restaurant to visit again.

It's so awesome. Come on, spring so we can do it again.

I've live in the area for years and just recently visited and I regret not trying it sooner. For was good and service and atmosphere were wonderful the outdoor seating area is extremely nice.

such a fun find! the vibe is super cool, loved all the lights and the seating. my boyfriend and I got the Deli 101, a slider, and the mac salad. we were blown away by it all! the slider was the best we've ever had and the sandwich was absolutely delicious!

Very happy that i came here. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was awesome. Cozy place and good beer selection. Will be back!

The best Caesar salad I’ve ever had (but don’t tell my Italian mom 😂)! The dressing is made in-house and it’s a flavor explosion of lemon and garlic. They even sent us home with a jar 😋.

We ordered a stack of the buttermilk pancakes for the table and they, too, were the best I’ve ever had. Fluffy, and the cinnamon on top sets them apart.

My husband got the shrimp tacos and loved them.

We came over to the island to fish for Father’s Day. We’ll make the hour + trip just to eat here again!

Can’t wait to come back!

Highly recommend stopping in for food and drink whether you're already on the island or planning to come over. The service is awesome and the atmosphere encompasses the island vibe. I recommend ordering the wood-fired pizza when they are offering the option.

Interesting place, I ordered the perch, and thought it was going to be fan fried, not battered and fried, very disappointing in that regard..

We love this close getaway! Ahi tuna is delicious! We truly enjoy each visit and have fabulous service with a great vibe!

Food was absolutely incredible! RANCH HAND Tenderloin sandwich was by far Top Ten sandwiches we've ever had! Perch was cooked perfect,sweet potato FF were amazing and the HOME MADE DESSERTS were delicious. Service was great. We will definitely be back our next trip to the island.

Food is amazing! Drunken Whale is the drink to drink ladies let me tell you!!! Ranch hand sandwich is the most delicious sandwich I have ever tasted and the perch tacos were superb!!! Dessert is delicious as well. Just go for the overall ambiance its an amazing restaurant.
