Our first time experience here was great. The atmosphere was cozy, non pretentious and the food is terrific. We tried a couple small plates served tapas style including (hush puppies, tuna tartare, east coast oysters, oyster mushrooms, gnocchi & baby scallops, and the special (Grouper). For dessert, the Chocolate Tres leches was light yet creamy with a hint of mascarpone. The creativity involved in each dish both from a presentation stand point and flavor profile was exceptional (highlights being the oyster mushrooms in black garlic sauce and tuna tartare which was a great stand alone dish without the buttered toast). The grouper was cooked to perfection and would have more flavor if it came before the clam chowder which was rich with salt (perhaps from the prosciutto) and over powered our taste buds. Other dishes that looked good but we didn’t try were the salad dishes and the small potatoes. Will have to try those next time!

Attended The Voyager "Bad & Beaujolais" Event. The food and service were superb. Highly recommend everyone taking the time to make a reservation for this once a year event. The Scallop and Gnocci selection was the star of the show.

Couldn't have loved this place more. Kind of a speakeasy-style; unassuming from the outside but vintage+beachy vibes inside and very small and intimate. We got the peel & eat shrimp (seasoning was 10/10), hushpuppies, and then the lobster fettuccine and kingfish. Loved them all. I am originally from Boston so I can get snobby with my seafood but Voyager was AMAZING. Great service, food, and vibes. 100% will come again!

As soon as you walk in, it smells like you’re by the ocean. Love it. The food there is always 10/10. We tend to try out the specials each time we are there. Each dish has mouth-watering flavor combinations that keep us coming back. Our waiters and waitresses are always so helpful, and even made us their version of an espresso martini even though they don’t have one of the menu. They are very helpful with recommending wines that pair well with your dinner options. I have been here at least 5 times now and have never been disappointed.

We loved the atmosphere at Voyager! It was very nice and cozy. The seating and parking is limited so make sure you reserve a spot, go before 6-7pm. When we got there the server was very friendly, understanding, and caring. If you communicate a need or allergy they try their best to keep that is mind. Anytime we come here it is always a wonderful experience.

Great selection of very tasty plates. We tried the dip, the mushrooms, the scallops and the fish on special. All super delicious and very elegant presentation. Good selection of cocktails and option for mixes outside the menu.
Atmosphere is friendly and East Coast-ish. At least to my eyes.
Very friendly service
We will be back

Friendly staff and delightful food. Everything is fresh, cocktails are amazing. Tried multiple dishes on different nights. This is a dream of a restaurant. Well decorated and understated for the quality of the food coming out of that kitchen. Outdoor dining available, onsite parking. It's AMAZING.

Dined here for Lobster week. Did not disappoint. Loved it. Great place to drink and dine outside in the summer.

We arrived a little early for our reservation to check out happy hour. Our bartender Jordan was helpful in selecting a few drinks and dishes. Good conversationalist. After an hour we went to sit for dinner where adorable Lily helped us pick out a few more drinks and dishes. Everything....and I mean everything, we tried was top tier. The flavors and preparation was *PERFECT*. We blew off this spot for years because of the Detroit food explosion. Much regret for not checking out Voyager sooner! Might be the top 3 Seafood spots I have had in my life. The drinks were well balanced as well.

I was initially suspicious this would be one of these places hipsters rave about because of the novelty factor ( high end seafood behind a tire shop) but we ended up having a meal my wife described as " one of the best meals of my life". The place is not much from the outside but once you walk in you sense a very Williamsburg vibe. The decor is cool. Our drinks were very tasty. We ordered the seafood platter which was an excellent idea. The seafood is very fresh and the kitchen knows not to mess with it. The snow crab legs were delicious. Shrimps were seasoned perfectly with old bay. The oysters were the stars of the show. The mussels initially felt like an afterthought but with the sauce they were really excellent. I've never had a panzanella before but I'm ordering it any time I see it on a menu from now on. The Lobster pasta was the best dish of the night, by far. There was a creamy salty sweet umami that was absolutely out of this world. You don't come here for dessert but it was still very good. Absolutely coming back to this place very very soon

First time experiencing the restaurant with a delicious dinner (oysters were terrific), excellent cocktails and great service. The atmosphere is classy and reminder of an old school vibe. Enjoyed great conversation without trying to talk over everyone else. Total recommend.

Second time here & the quality of seafood here is rare for metro Detroit (and the prices match that). Service was accommodating and attentive, but not over bearing. The OYSTERS were AH-mazing (Pink Moon). Always enjoy the peel & eat shrimp & the hush puppies with that sweet butter. Arctic char was perfectly cooked - the turnips might’ve been a liiiiitle too smoky but I enjoyed them.

I love that this place is just down the street. Don’t ever change.

Stellar show across the whole menu. Not a single miss anywhere, which makes it hard to pick favorites but I'll try to hit the highlights: smoked squid in the shishito dish with lime was an excellent and unexpected combo, the black garlic with mushrooms was predictable but delicious, and both scallop dishes (Crudo of the day and the seared u10s) together were a beautiful example of the potential texture spectrum of the ingredient (meltingly soft in the crudo, meaty plump and crunchy in the seared scallop dish). I'd probably skip the cobbler next time (unimpressive after everything else) and I wish I'd known you can order the lobster roll off menu outside of happy hour but the upside is we'll certainly try to come back!

Sitting at the bar is my favorite, the food is awesome and so so fresh, the drinks delightful and the $2 buck shuck deal is the cherry on top. Best place for oysters!

Seafood place is a massive hit. I am a huge seafood fanatic so I am always looking forward to visit this place.

Raw Oysters from the West were great. East are slightly salty.
Boiled oysters are okayish and can be skipped.
Lobster dip is really great and calorie dense.
If you are ready to get hands messy, get Dungeness Crab. Eating with butter after you have used crab cutters makes it worth it.
Will also recommend Crab croquettes.

Previous visits-
Catch of the day - New Zealand fish was the highlight of the dinner. It was cooked perfectly and the aroma had us right from get go! I had oysters after almost 6 years and I was surprised with the variety. I forgot what it tasted like. Olympus was my favorite. Beach point felt like I had oysters straight out of sea, extra salty. Chelsea were also good. Popcorn shrimps were nice, liked the sauces that it came with. Crab spaghetti was tasty but portion size was small, not sufficient for 1 person so I would suggest getting at least 3 dishes from the menu if you are going with someone. Portion size aren’t that great in general.
Our host Miranda was super nice and very knowledgeable. Each and everyone on that staff was friendly. Since it was our first time, talking with her really helped us grasp the newness of menu which changes every 2 weeks. Reservation is not mandatory but I would suggest you do one. Place is really not that big it they are accommodating. Bar can sit around 10-15 people.
It’s not easy to locate this place from street. Parking facility for 12 cars, street parking is available or there’s a CVs parking across the street.
It’s definitely worthy of a visit.

Even though Voyager is not on a coast, their oysters are tide to table in 24 hours which is insane. I’ve driven here for their brunch and a few of their seasonal events. This night, it was all about the oysters. They even have a happy hour where they are $2 and select wines are $5. The oysters were delicious and the mignonette in the little bottles is my fave.
To go with it with it, we had swordfish on the habachi. The fish was super flavourful and flaky. The presentation was very stark. My favourite dish though was the cacio e Pepe which I always get at Italian restaurants. This was so good though because it had crab in the sauce. The pasta was perfectly chewy.
The restaurant is currently closed but they offer dockside pickup. Cant wait to go back.

Food is very uniquely specific and delicious. They’ve definitely got their signature dishes. My friend and I shared 6 west & east coast oysters, followed by barley salad, the mushrooms with black garlic (yumm) and the scallops. We’ve both worked in fine dining service industry. Scallops were some of our favorites and we got two of the oysters because they were so delectable. Bill & Mackenzie took great care of us. Yummm wish I had room for the saffron ice cream or pumpkin cake

Best seafood in Metro Detroit with an ever-changing, super creative menu. Cocktail menu is relatively small, but if you don’t see something you like, describe what you’re looking for and the bartenders are great about whipping up something delicious! If you’re lucky enough to have Julie serving your table, you’re in for a special treat, but the whole team is amazing!

Small stylish Chef run spot in Ferndale. Happy Hour Oysters for $2 from East and West Costs. Cockels and crackers were excellent. The fish dishes and Hush Puppies were great as well. Excellent informative service at the bar convinced us to try the New Zealand Oysters and was not dissapointed.
