Cafe Lafayette

Cannot say more positive things about Cafe Lafayette! We got the spicy chicken sandwich and chicken & waffles — both were full of flavor and all the right crunchy textures. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the hospitality is top notch. We showed up with our toddler and dog (not a service animal), and the staff were SO KIND AND HELPFUL in offering and then setting up a table for us to eat outside, even though no other tables were outside. The cherry on top was that they brought out a pup cup for our old and blind pit bull, which made his morning too. <3 This is the kind of neighborhood gem we love to support — and even though we aren’t exactly in the neighborhood, we plan on being back soon and trying everything else on the menu.

What a great cafe find in the area! Really enjoyed the chicken tacos, avo toast and smoothie.

Menu is varied - love the Korean fusion in some dishes + some brunch and sandwich staples executed really well - and reasonable prices for portion sizes. Service also super friendly!

Spacious cafe with a varied menu for a quick bite or full meal. Breakfast sandwiches are great - good size, not greasy. They make a great chai latte! The sides are decently portioned and affordable (one side of home fries is more than enough for two people).

Love coming back to this cafe on a winter day for a hot coffee and some snacks. It has a very warm vibe. Service is prompt and coffee is really good!

Loved this place, the food and the super friendly and knowledgeable owner Patrick. They have a wide variety of breakfast, brunch, lunch, snack options. We had the avocado toast and bibimbap. Both were good. The place is very clean and has an inviting appeal to it.

The owner thinks a lot about the community aspect of it and had opened up the place after closing time last Friday for a poetry slam / open mic event. Patrick was very accommodating and essential to make the event a success.

The cafe also hosted a kitten adoption event the same weekend!

If I could, I would give this more than 5 stars.

This is not just a regular cafe, they have many options on the menu, the place itself is big and have good ambiance! The staff are welcoming and friendly! Their espresso is good! As for their food, So far I’ve tried their Soy Garlic chicken, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Udon, Bulgogi Rice Bowl and Chicken and Waffles, they all taste good, flavorful and filling! I highly recommend this place!

I like my eggs in a specific way when I have a bacon egg and cheese. Everything was cooked exactly how I like it and well proportioned. My 2 year old son kept asking for more and I knew I was going to want more so that’s why I bought 2! Whoever makes these sandwiches is amazing!

Excellent service and food! We had sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and bulgogi veggie rice bowl - both were delicious! Their milky way iced latte was great too! Lastly, their food and drink menu offers a lot of different options, which I really like about them. Very good place!

My avocado toast was SO GOOD. I added a fried egg and it was delicious. This spot has a nice atmosphere to study/work. The owner & his teammates were very charismatic and informative. Would be back again :) oh and the Korean touch to the menu? You gotta try it!!

Pardon my French but omfg the FRENCH TOAST!!! Delicious egg sandwiches and smoothies too. Eventually I will branch out and try more menu items (I can't resist bulgolgi) but everything I've had is delicious. Kind people too.

Best local cafe! Food is delicious and space is cozy and clean. A variety of items on the menu for everyone. A great addition to the neighborhood and my go to spot!

French toast: Divinely Delicious 🤤 Korean Chicken wings: Will make you smack your mama!!🤪. They did forget my lemonade 😔but the owner called and apologized 😃and offered to give me a free one on the house with my next order🥳Definitely a hidden Jem in Jersey!

Beyond lovely open clean corner space with a full food, snack, drink and of course coffee menu for everyone. Large ceiling to floor windows, WiFi, wc, plenty of seating and great music (personal opinion:•.) Very helpful staff and every dish coming out looked so good!

Jersey City’s largest cafe! So much seating and great to break up working from home. Food and espresso are legit. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend to check this place out - conveniently off Liberty State Park light rail station.

Best cafe in the area, hands-down - my wife and I go here multiple times a week. Delicious coffee, great food and an awesome indoor space/outside seating. Patrick and his hard-working team are super-friendly with everyone who walks through the door, and through their day to day business but also local events and partnerships they are building at the heart of this community. Would 150% recommend!! Thank you Patrick for everything you do for your customers, including keeping us caffeinated!!

You gonna order the spicy chicken sandwich but tell them to put them in a wrap. Don't even ask me why just do it and be so amazed you might smack your mother over the wrap. The other food in here is cool too

This cafe has so much warmth with quality service and a friendly staff that greets you as soon as you walk in. It's a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or brunch with company or even by yourself.

Nice spot for some quick eats in the neighborhood. I wish the food had a bit more seasoning but the coffee and smoothies are always delicious

The atmosphere is just phenomenal. The food is out of the world. I live to see place like this one, bring out the best in this area. Definitely need to go to Cafe Lafayette! You won't regret it!!!!

The espresso is fabulous and they have an amazing array of food with some Korean influences. Their breakfast is amazing. I love the breakfast sandwiches on the multigrain toast or croissant and the lox toast is sooooo good.
