We recently 'rediscovered' The Old Salt restaurant while celebrating a birthday. Marcia MADE our evening. Her service and attentiveness were excellent. We had a terrific time. Food was delicious. Beers were cold. LOTS to look at in the pub. Very highly recommended. So much so, that we'll be back this Friday for the fish&chips!

We have lived in Hampton for years. Whenever we have visitors we always recommend a visit to The Old Salt. In my opinion it is one of the best restaurants in the town of Hampton. The menu is extensive and although it is further away from the beach it is worth traveling too.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. We have dined in multiple times and have never had a complaint about their food. I personally love their vegetarian and seafood dishes. A couple of dishes I recommend would be the Baked Shrimp and the Cheese Tortellini with Lobster Sauce.

The beach area of Hampton unfortunately specializes in junk/fast food so if you are in the area and want higher quality ingredients and better service then I would suggest making a trip to the Old Salt.

My husband and I were faithful customers of the 401 tavern upon moving here 6 years ago..we began slowly frequenting the Old Salt as we sadly watched the 401 go downhill. So glad we found this place! Collette, Kym, Ellen, Kristen and Mac the bartender are simply amazing! We always feel welcome..it's like coming home. Staff is friendly, efficient, professional and always friendly! Food is always excellent with plenty of delicious specials so you never get bored with the menu! Not that the menu is not delicious..always have a hard time deciding! Looking forward to many more great experiences!!

While I have not been to their physical location (yet) I can speak to their off-site catering. The Old Salt were hired to cater a wedding that I coordinated at our family-owned venue.

They were an absolute pleasure to work with! The owner was on-site for the wedding and he was so kind to my family and I. The staff was very responsive, helpful, communicative, and thorough. The food was incredible as well with unique and high-end menu options! We can't wait to visit their inn/restaurant and try more!
Definitely consider these guys if you are looking for an event caterer - they do it right!

First time diners at the Old Salt this past weekend. What a lovely little place, and the food and service were excellent. We've been told we MUST try brunch! Five stars and two thumbs up.

We ate at the hotel restaurant and the dinner and service was excellent. We had the clam Bake for two for $80 and I would gladly go back and do it again. The hotel bar had an awesome happy hour discount as well. The rooms are small but clean and to have such great food and drinks on site makes this place a gem!

It’s a great restaurant and the atmosphere is the best. The prices are good and the food is very good. The outdoor seating during the summer months are spectacular and I love the live music that they have. I highly recommend!

I didn't stay at the inn. I ate at the Old salt restaurant. It was extremely good! Everything was delicious except the bacon-wrapped scallops really didn't have that scallop taste and mostly just tasted like bacon. Very tasty but not what I was looking for.

We now have had dinner at the old salt twice in the last month. Atmosphere is great even with a lot of people in the restaurant we can talk to each other without yelling . Had the prime rib and it was great, service was great ,friendly and attentative.

We went here on a recommendation and it was as good as recommended. Good choices, had a daily special and early bird specials, the early bird special until 5 pm came with entrée, 2 sides, a drink and a dessert. A great deal.

Historic Inn with attached 1700's style restaurant and pub. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. We had a "pet friendly " room. Recommend the chowders.

We've been enjoying the Sunday Brunch here for years now, and have introduced several friends to it. We're never disappointed with the quality of food and the service provided for Brunch!

Hadn't been since or COVID, and was quite pleasantly surprised. Two orders of tips, one haddock and one salad with salmon. Everything was cooked perfectly and looked good. Taste was great. This is generally a tough crew to please and everyone was very happy.
The service was great and we like the classic old school atmosphere in the dining room.

The food is always good. The atmosphere was good outside with live music at the end of the Labor Day weekend. The inside dining room is decoratively eclectic New England.

One of New Hampshires oldest Inns. Just a short drive to the Ocean. Comfy rooms and all the services we needed. The free Continental breakfast was a big hit. Lots to do and see close by. Highly recommend a stay here. Very Friendly staff and not priced out of this world. A+
