Pacific Life Insurance Company

Pacific Life is supposed to be an “ Ethical Company”. Not true in the case of my friend. Susan Kuball lost her husband after a prolonged illness and was expecting to continue receiving her husband’s pension as he told her she would and he had arranged many years ago. She felt fortunate that the money kept coming and was deposited into her bank account each month.
When I happened to see a letter from Pacific Life many months later, addressed to her husband and not her, I asked her about it and she said she didn’t know why it came to him. I asked her if she ever notified PL of his death and she said no, she was not aware she needed to. Immediately, we called and notified them of his death and sent a death certificate. Susan located the original contract her husband had signed indicating she would receive the same amount of money he received while he was living. PL confirmed this, however, demanded Susan return all the money she was sent as she was not entitled to it. That money was meant only for her dead husband, not her. If she doesn’t return it, they will take a portion out of her pension going forward until it is paid back.
This is not what I would call kind or ethical treatment of a grieving widow who meant no harm and made an understandable mistake. If she had notified PL in a timely manner, she would have received that money in her name and there would have been no issue. There should be no issue now. PL should act honorably and start paying this woman what is owed with no penalty.

I would give zero stars!!!! My mother passed in March, she has an annuity for her kids and grandchildren. I called in May stated that I needed to become my mother executive of estate! made me go through hoops to obtain it! I call now July once i have the estate, they say oh no is ok all you needed to do was sign date and fax with death certificate. I send death certificate they said they didn't receive it sent again didn't receive it now sent a third time! if i dont get these checks i'm taking these people to court! They want to keep your money! The worst experience ever! I will never do an annuity for my kids through this company!!! lesson learned!!! get your money out of there people if you deal with these people!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Why offer a quote just to make the customer go through Over a MONTH of paperwork, repetitious questions, many different people contacting us to ask the same questions, lost paperwork, a REQUIRED PHYSICAL even if you just had one with your doc. PLUS IF YOU’RE Honest and put on the application that you’re going on vacation and may swim in the ocean, etc. they send additional paperwork acting like you’re a DEEP SEA DIVER etc. ANYWAY BYPASS THIS COMPANY if you simply are looking for a policy & to keep your sanity. GOOGLE Requires at least one star but yeah -5 stars.

This place is horrible trying to get a life insurance policy out for my kids . The paperwork is absolutely insane . Been going on for over a month. They make a easy process extremely complicated .I’m going somewhere else.
