nice trails in this area and a lovely area to have a picnic (they have several picnic tables). they also have grills here too if you wanted to barbecue. there is a small stream and a lake. there is some parking spaces as well. overall a nice place to enjoy nature and hang out by yourself or with friends and family. would come back and try a different trail

This park is gorgeous and has lovely trails for hiking and on leash dog walking. Lots of streams, bridges and trail options.

Sadly the off leash dog park is less inviting. Gates don't latch properly.

There is a small dog and big dog pen, a few benches. Most of the dog park is paved and not nice for running dog paws. No water available in the fenced area, but a seasonal water fountain is nearby.

Porta potty avail off season.

Just go for a hike with your pooch.

Beautiful park with a rural feel to it in the middle of suburbia. Ample trails in many spots which lead out to one another. Excellent parking and good signage make for a seamless experience.

Lota of wide open spaces. Lots of trails for walks and hiking. An exploratory trip here says I will be visiting here in the summertime for sure, though I wager it will be nowhere near as deserted as it was this day. There are several parking annexes, and several different areas to the park. There is a baseball diamond area, there is a boating/swimming pond area, and there is an open area for eating. First trip here was an early expedition. Will be sure to update this review and add more photos after a proper 2nd trip.

Extensive, well maintained trails and clean bathrooms in most of the parking lots. I’d use park maps as AllTrails and Google Maps don’t reflect the latest trail closures or reroutes. Ran into a few dead ends using these apps, so best to use the actual park maps to avoid going off trail

Sunrise Lake does not disappoint. Great place for kids to play in the sand, lake, Wibit, and slides.

Great trails to hike. We hiked the yellow trail and enjoyed it. Trails are mostly well marked. A few places where it can get confusing but download a map prior and you'll be good. Would definitely visit again and explore the other trails available.

At this time of the year... on weekends its super crowded with families.
We carried our iHop and pizzas 🍕 for brunch but couldnt find a place so drove a little further away from the beach and found a quaint spot with a bench. The whole place is lush green and pleasant 😍

Very nice park to go biking of hiking in. Terrain gets into a bit of hills but nothing unmanageable. Some basic facilities exist. Would not be my first choice for swimming though, the swim area is just laughably small.

I've been going to LMP for over 20 years, beautiful county park and love the lake and trails, played volleyball here for 10 years. Dog park is gone, miss that.

Really beautiful park with short trails that take you through all sorts of nice terrain. A little nerdy, but I loved how many species of trees there were to look at and identify. Connects to patriots path and the 160 mile trail they're putting in from Jersey City to the Delaware Water Gap.

Beautiful Morris County park with great amenities; ball fields, hiking trails, picnic areas, pavilions, lake for swimming, fishing and boating, camping for scouts, sled riding hill in the winter, dog park, etc. Well maintained and well patrolled.

I love the the place. More variety of trails then in nearby Morristown National Historic Park. Less people too.

It’s a clean awesome park. Lot of activities but they are paid ones so the number of folks coming since it’s paid it’s slightly less crowded than the other parks. Having said that if you go on week end it’s still crowded. The one problem is in a hot sunny day there are not much shades so quite difficult with out a tent. There are slightly towering steps to get to the water front so old aged people especially having weak knees find it difficult to get to and back to the parking. There is a parking behind that may be helpful.
