Personally, I’ve been treated good each of my visits here so I can’t account for some of these terrible experiences others have been presented to. The office clerks always greet with a friendly smile while answering all of my questions and concerns. My local mail carrier(s) always bring my packages to my doorstep with a smile whenever I’m present. So sorry for those of you with horrible past experiences but maybe the place is better now and some of those issues have hopefully been addressed.

Local resident for 10+ years. Never had an issue and have always been greeted by friendy, helpful staff. Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt.

Office clerks are polite and professional, but mail delivery is problematic. This is second month our bank statement was not delivered though USPS informed delivery pictures it along with two other pieces. WE RECEIVED NOTHING. I approached the branch office the last time this happened, but they said they didn't know where it was ,even though it was clearly pictured in my informed delivery email..
The same thing happened with our first stimulus check.
What is happening?

Very upsetting. They take your money and dont deliver. Time sensitive package still hasn't arrived. Lots of time and money invested. Not to mention it's the Holidays.

Delivery person refuses to travel our common drive to deliver packages. No warning of pending action, or lack there of. Admittedly our common drive is not in great shape but it’s not a safety issue during good weather. Left notice without any explanation or reason. Did not identify sender or specific recipient. Reason being is the packages are for a 7 year old diabetic child and contain life sustaining medicine and medical supplies. No other service or carrier has refused to drive the 1320 feet to my home for any reason, ever, other than snow or ice ( makes sense) except this letter carrier, second time she did this. Maybe this isn’t the job for her. Irony, yesterday, a Sunday , I received a package from the USPS at my home from Amazon. On Sundays they utilize carriers from Blairstown. Thank you Blairstown for tolerating my bumpy roadway! I wish the Sussex PO would be so considerate on the few occasions a package needs to be delivered to my home. Unfortunately for my daughter the Rx pharmacy I must use to stay in network only delivers with. USPS unless I pay for priority delivery from UPS or Fed Ex (who have always been professional and rational) and pay the extra $30-60 per delivery. I’ve always had incredible respect for the postal service and the work they do but this case is just so disrespectful, unfair, unprofessional and with no rational. The common driveway is bumpy, not unsafe nor hazardous. These drivers face far more danger when they are doing deliveries along the highway and roadway. Sorry, I see an employee who just doesn’t care and gives the USPS a black eye.

I honestly can't believe the way this staff acts both in person and on the phone. I thought this place was ran by teenagers before I showed up to see that they are definitely adults at least in age. The way they treat customers is uncalled for. Your storefront is ultimately a customer service business so learn what customer service is. I work for USPS also and none of the way you guys act would fly in my office. You guys are a shame to our organization and I will be sending evidence up through chain of command calling for disciplinary action. Good luck to you.

Tires of my mail being disrespected. I just had a $300 custom, leather motorcycle seat jammed into my mailbox with numerous other packages. The leather is torn! Waiting on this seat to begin my build for my custom bike purchased to be customized for my dog who is dying of cancer. When the mail carrier isn't disrespecring my mail, they are turning the mail truck around on my yard. I have complained about both numerous times and nothing changes.

If I could give it no stars I would the clerks there are nasty and won't help at all. Lauren likes to hang up when she doesn't know how to answer a simple question and she argues with you when she knows she's in the wrong. Bob likes to talk over you even when you're just trying to figure out what is going on with your own mail. I witnessed them doing this today and making someone visibly upset. They really need. To get their act together it's a shame that no one knows how to do their job there. If i were boss they both would be fired and easily replaced

People hang up on you, (Lauren ) talk over you(Bob) they don't care how rude they are because they know you're stuck going there, mocking customers, not giving packages, making customers break down and get upset and then laughing in their face. They abuse their job there needs to be a complete employee change. I left crying twice now because I've never been so rudly treated by people there were two nice people I met that worked there Mike and a female who helped me the day before and didn't say anything but also wasn't rude to me so thank you sorry I didn't get your name. But on the topic of names they refused to give a name or even an employee number which is by the way the law.

Had a horrible experience with Sussex post office today. Lauren caught an attitude and hung up the phone on me twice because I called to question as to why the post office threw away my package. If you have no customer service skills and cannot deescalate a customer situation then quit your job because you are not good at it.

DO NOT get a money order there larger than 100 dollars, if you do and then need to cash it back in with them you will be SCREWED, they will tell you they dont have enough in the draw to turn it back into cash, NOR will they be able to tell you when they will have enough cash to do so, if you need a money order larger than 100, GO TO YOUR BANK, you will pay more upfront but it will be so much less frustrating then dealing with MORONS at this establishment. lesson learned, thanks sussex county USPS for NOTHING.

Worst mail service. Packages are either crammed in my mailbox or forgotten about until the next day even though tracking says it’s currently out for delivery. Not nearly as good as the Hamburg post office makes me hate living in their service area
