Sussex Sit n' Chat Diner

Breakfast for us five 2 adults 3 kids(15,14,11). We took a booth and had plenty of room. We had an omelet, chicken n waffles (chicken was a flat cutlet). A bacon egg and cheese sandwich and biscuits and gravy. French fries are really thin good but not our favorite. Biscuits were fresh, and moist gravy was rich but not overly greasy, and sausage bits were tasty. The atmosphere was nice and pleasant. Wait, staff was accommodating and friendly. Would go back for lunch to try it out again.

Good time, had dinner, 2 of us. Food was very good, great presentation, reasonably priced, great server. Will go back. Return trip still good, more than we could eat, chose early dinner special.

Large portions, food was hot and exactly as ordered. Staff was top notch, and checked on us through out. The prices were very reasonable. Very clean establishment. We will be returning.

Very nice Diner, their menu has a lot of delicious options, it was hard to decide. Me and my boyfriend had the skillets and they were yummy, our pancakes delicious as well. Friendly staff, our server Karen was a sweetheart 🥰 10/10

The Prime Rib Special is THE prime dish to order! The portion is more than generous and cooked to perfection according to your preference. You also get a soup or salad, potato and vegetable of your choice! You can also add coffee and a slice of pie for an additional $5. You also get treated like family here! Come visit and enjoy this entree or any favorite entree of yours for just an every day meal, birthday, holiday or celebration. Their menu is loaded with tons of different choices and in my opinion one of the top American diners in North Jersey. Early Bird specials are offered on top of their already pleasing prices. Any meal, anytime, you’ll be satisfied. Don’t forget to buy the classic, must-have mug too!

Just a perfect Jersey diner. I was so impressed with the staff. In fact my wonderful, amazing and beautiful daughter Alisha has joined that staff. She said from day one they told her she was now family and that's how they roll. The food was perfect by the way lol.

The Manager George was so sweet and personable and genuine which is amazing for Jersey lol 😆 The waitresses I met at least so far are sweet n super accommodating for u n we left a $40 tip bc of how awesome they were, we had Dawn once & Ashley another time and I can't say enough that this is my new favorite place to take my family or even just come in for coffee n sit at the counter n talk to everyone- they really are a Sit n Chat kind of place....it just feels...well comfortable there....I def def recommend this place! Oh n just saying their portion size on the plates are huge!! Can eat 2 or 3 times off one meal- awesomeness 😎👍🙌

Great food, great prices. Staff are always friendly and I've never had an order that was wrong.

Very calm environment.Everyone was friendly.The waitress was on her toes full of energy.Greeted us and told us about her floats(didn't know they were huge)and ofcourse me being a big guy had to have it for my family so I said give me.4 big A&W Mug glasses and this was before the main course,oops.But in the end everything was gone because we or I ate it.Hamburgers,fries,disco fries for me,coleslaw,and picles.Delicious.I'm hungry now I'm going back.

I want to start with WOW, at first sight it doesn't look like much another diner, but the second we got in we were greeted and it felt so real and welcoming. We sat and the waitress was so nice and she looked happy and full of energy, she took our order I got blueberry and banana pancakes my husband had the ham bacon cheese sandwich, let me say the pancakes were delicious and they were so big, there were so many berries and bananas it was crazy, I couldn't finish it. This were the best pancakes (no lying) I ever had in my entire life. The prices were super affordable.
This is a diner you need to go to. you will love it, I know we did.

The now "Angelo's Diner" is a great place for some great food!! Seriously big portions with a million and one options for breakfast and lunch! We stumbled upon this place being from Sparta and wanting to check out the local diners around us. Needless to say, this is now our favorite!! Great service and staff, quick orders and very reasonably priced. Hot and fresh with a smile, just the way we like it!! If you're looking for good eats you've just found it.

I sure do hope our server, Tiffany, knows just how much she meant to me today. Her compassion and kindness really made my day! I've been struggling lately and haven't gone out much after having a double knee replacement 3 years ago. I feel like such a burden everywhere I go. My feet don't quite keep up with the rest of my body and I often struggle to do the simple things that everyone takes for granted. It can be very frustrating!
While stepping into the foyer, I misjudged the last step and fell pretty hard into the lobby. (Hard enough that i broke my glasses and cut the side of my face). Utterly mortified, I laid there defeated. There was signage and all, I just couldn't catch myself.
This young lady leaped to my aid so quickly, she was calming and kind as my husband tried to pull me up.. I could not get my feet under me and my husband kept pulling me. This young lady asked him to refrain, and to let me be for a moment. She sat down right beside me and held my hands (I suppose she could see the shame in my face). Told me it was ok and to just breathe, I cannot tell you how badly I needed to hear this. At this point my husband was explaining to a very large man that I stumbled due to my knee replacements and they both were rushing me off the floor, so she asked them to step back and go get a first aid kit for me. Still, she sat with me. Almost in a motherly way, making me feel safe. She asked me some basic questions, I supposed quizzing me for a potential concussion, did a general assessment of my injuries and made sure I was feeling well enough to be lifted to the seat behind me.
After catching my breath and calming down, my husband and this large man (I think he worked there also) started forcing me up and I was embarrassed when I couldn't be lifted. She immediately stopped them and forced them to back up and leave me alone, and told me she'd lift me when I felt comfortable. How was I ever going to feel comfortable letting this girl lift me when a grown man can't. I wanted to stay on that floor forever.
She encouraged me to trust her and told me she'd be lifting me from under my arms and would walk every step with me. I had no choice but to try.
She did it, she held me and stood for me, lifting me from the ground. She took each step as if it were my own, she did not let me sway or feel uneasy and walked me to the first table inside the door.
After seating me, she held my hands and assured me it was ok, and not to be embarrassed. She went and got me a water, put on gloves and cleaned my cut, covering it with a band aid. I assure you, I've not felt so cared for in years. In this moment of shame, this kindness is all I needed.
We had a lovely lunch and her service was fantastic. She really went above and beyond, recommending us both to excellent choices and bringing us everything we needed before even asking. As we were getting ready to leave, I thanked her again. She kept saying it was nothing, but it was not nothing. She even tried to make me feel relatable and say shes stumbled before, it's all about how we get back up. Oh boy, she is wise beyond her years.
I was teary as I still could not shake the shame and disappointment in my body, and she hugged me. She teared up as well and begged me to forgive myself for making a silly mistake. This young lady hugged me and let me cry on her shoulder as she cried with me, she didn't want to see me upset. That right there, has made me feel so peaceful and calm since leaving. She is such a special young lady, and someone I look forward to visiting again. I will be there as often as possible just to see that smiling, bubbly personality. I hope you see this, Tiffany. Also, please note, if that tall man works there, my parents could hear you telling everyone it was my moms fault bc she has "plastic knees". I wish i had been there, id loved to have expressed myself to you, sir. maybe you could learn something from tiffany...

Large portions, nice outdoor seating and friendly service. If we're ever back that way, we would probably stop again for a quick bite!

Waitress are vey kind and courteous. Portion are freaking huge🙂🙂🙂 finally for 1 year being in states i am eating real mac and cheese not the one from the box☺☺☺

Huge Tasty portions! Friendly service! Comfy atmosphere! We stopped in for breakfast as we were passing through the area. Locals favorite I’m sure. Definitely recommend!
