First of all this is not a bar or restaurant.
It is a boarding home called Jasper for adult males with mental health illness and diminished mental capacities. It is a beautiful well taken care of facility. The staff here cares for these men around the clock 24/7 fixing them meals and snacks, ensuring medical and medication needs are being met as well as basic hygiene and clothing and such. There are some pretty strict rules that are enforced for safety and security reasons and it is quite a process for the residents here to get set up to even live here. It is a wonderful program for people who would normally not be able to fully take care of themselves and do not have families or other outside resources. Without this program, Most of if not all of the residents would be homeless, left to self medicating / illicit drug use, extortion and even death on the streets. They are some of the sweetest and most pleasant people I have ever met. I am so glad that there are programs and people in place to help others with these special needs.
