We stopped here while staying at Aulani, it’s about 8 miles from the resort. These are sooo good, especially when you have to them warm. They don’t have the same variety that their brick and mortar stores do, but they are still worth a visit.

To me, the cinnamon sugar are amazing, they make these to order for you but they are worth the wait!

KAPAHULU AVE. store was temporarily closed, so I purchased malasadas from this food truck.
The malasadas were crunchy on the surface and fluffy on the inside.

I got greedy and didn't take any photos of the pastries but I got a box of the original and a box of the custard filled. The custard filled is so very good. They also have chocolate filled and coconut creme filled. They are amazing..

This food truck seems so unassuming, then you take a bite of the Malasada, and know what it feels like to be royalty! The Malasadas are so delicious and fresh.

Tried one of each. The original and custard were our favorites. Had to divert here as the original location was closed due to refurbishment.

Definitely all about the hype!!! Be sure to enjoy your malasadas while they’re hot and fresh!

We visited this food truck location at 6:45am on April 28 and it opened at 7. We were second in line and by 7 there were a dozen groups waiting in line.

We ordered/tried the cinnamon sugar malasada as well as the Hupai cream filled and Custard filled.

Between the two of us we devoured the three sitting on a bench in the plaza and LOVED them!

We even took a box back for our shipmates. At the end of the day (after sitting in our trunk all day) they said they were good!

Best malasada around. Almost always a line, but they're quick and worth waiting a few minutes for fresh.

Good prices! Highly recommended.

Wow -- so delicious. Fresh and hot is the way to go. Li Hing is the best!

Amazing, fresh malasadas from this famous place! Honestly, I would stick to a classic one -- tried the kind stuffed with chocolate as well and it was basically filled with chocolate pudding rather than the kind of chocolate I was expecting (not exactly sure what I was expecting, but maybe something a bit denser or perhaps something like the kind of sauce you would dip a beignet or churro in). The only mistake you can make is waiting too long to eat it -- they are best right away!

Oh my gosh. If you've never tried a Malasadas you're missing out on one of the best Portuguese fried pastry I've ever had. Piping hot with creamy custard filling. Try one and you will agree.

We have always been intimidated by the giant line they always have. Today the line was short so we decided to finally give these Malasadas a try and see what the hype was all about. My goodness have we been missing out. Our order had just been freshly cooked. So when we took a bite of our donuts they were hot and fluffy and chewy and sooooo good! We tried one of each flavor but we all agreed that the best one was the coconut custard. Wow definitely ordering some every time we visit Hawaii from now on! Yum!

The best malasadas in town are in this bakery! The dough is so soft and pluffy. It is so tasty. Coming back for more!

My photos don't do this place justice but these malasadas are best served once you get them. The plain ones are perfect. Texture inside is light and fluffy bread but the outside is like biting into a warm sugar donut. Don't skip on this place.

We stopped at this mobile truck location and it was worth it. We went just before 10am on a weekday and barely had a line. We did the 6 pieces and tried them all. The malasadas were warm, light and fluffy. Our 2 favorites were the custard filling and coconut filling

I got the Original and Haupia (coconut cream filled) Malasada. These are filled pastries (kinda like filled doughnuts). They were a bit messy and really tasty! The sugar around the surface was granulated, not powdered. The pastry was warm. The coconut cream tasted like the coconut flavor of almond joy (may have been artificial). Would highly recommend this place for dessert!

I can see why everyone was telling me to stop by and get malasadas from Leonard's. These were amazing. Glad we brought them on the trip back home with us. I just got a 6 count box of regular and cinnamon, but only half the malasadas made it home unfortunately. The kids loved them so much. Gotta come back and try the filled ones next time.

While picking up tonight’s dinner at one of our favorite lunch wagons, my husband decided to pick up dessert as well right next door at Leonard’s Malasadamobile wagon in Waikele. Who doesn’t love hot malasadas?! Always hot and delicious, these yummy and sugary soft pillows of wonderfulness really hits your sweet tooth spot. I noticed one was already missing when I opened the box!! The nostalgic and ever popular pink box is a true original favorite that always brings back sweet childhood memories. Gotta try the original malasadas, but the filled ones are very delicious too. These were picked up around 6:30 so no long line to wait in, but its worth it even if you do have to stand in a long line. Next time i really want to try the Li hing flavor. I heard it was great. Continue to support our local longtime businesses!

We are seriously never disappointed with these delicious "HOT" Malasadas. Soooo yummy when you eat them fresh. We always order a mix of their originals along with their puffs. Ummm Oishi!
