Really good breakfast/brunch spot. Close to Waikiki, so good option if you have activities/tours scheduled in the morning. Everything we ordered (Loco Moco, Combo, Granola Parfait) was delicious! Service is also good! It seems to be a popular spot so be prepared to wait for a bit

A fun brunch place that's a favorite to both locals and tourists alike. There is always a line at the entrance but the line moves fast especially if you don't mind sitting on the bar instead of getting a table. There's a lot of options to choose from but you can't go wrong with anything - whether you want a savory or sweet breakfast. It does get crowded and busy, the service is still fast but the staff seems overwhelmed so tip them generously since they are still pleasant while serving you. 🙂 Bonus to the fact that the staff allowed us to sample their Belgian waffle while we were waiting in line which was exactly what I got myself. Parking can get busy especially since it's an open parking lot for patrons of different shops in the market city area.

So I went to this place about two years ago and I’ll be headed back! Can’t wait to have breakfast this will be my first breakfast stop for sure! I will post when I come in January! Headed to the NS to catch the phat sets before they end for the year.

It was amazing to encounter such warm hospitality. In Honolulu, you often feel invisible. They don't even look up when taking your order. No smile, very perfunctory. I understand that serving 1000 customers a day leaves no energy to smile. Working in restaurant and guest service is an art.

And the guys at Cafe Kaila have maintained this art despite the huge flow of guests. You are truly welcomed there. And genuinely so!

A very cool atmosphere with very good prices and very tasty food. The portions are colossal! You will be satisfied.

Every dish we ordered was delicious. Staff was very nice and accommodating. We will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good breakfast spot.

We had the amazing opportunity to get seated with Kat as our server. She went above and beyond to make our first time at Café Kaila a welcoming environment! We also had different servers that were just as attentive to our table. Every piece of their menu (as well as drinks) that were ordered were delicious and full of flavor - and incredibly well priced! I don’t even like eggs Benedict but the egg bennys here were sooooo good!! The meatloaf benny was one of the best. Daily specials of savoury and sweet breakfast options.

The food is good - nothing remarkable, but reminiscent of a good old neighborhood diner. It is often very crowded and loud, but the open space and plenty of natural light balances the vibrant hectic crowds. Parking is a very tough challenge, particularly if you have an SUV - best to walk to it.

Very friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Food was out of this world good! Daily specials are FANTASTIC!

Absolutely wonderful cafe!! We tried it the first day of our vacation and went back everyday. Food was delicious each time, regardless of the dish!! Staff was amazing and so very welcoming, would absolutely recommend it to any traveler!!

Cafe Kaila is my favorite local breakfast spot! Their food is always amazing, especially their fried rice and their French toast. I love everything I've tried and I enjoy have the choice of local options (Portuguese sausage, spam, etc). It is small so there's often a wait on weekends and holidays and it can be really crowded inside, but the food is very worth it. The staff are always prompt and friendly despite how busy it is, so props to them!

Breakfast here is very good. I enjoy the veggie scramble with potatoes and toast. The LocoMoco is quite good also. Only negative is there's a bit of a wait to get in unless you're early or later than say 1:00pm

Our Sunday morning fix couldn't have been better!!! What a lovely meal we had!! Lip smackingly good food, amazing coffee and fantastic service!! We're so impressed!!

Per Makana's enthusiastic recommendation, we opted to have the corned hash with 2 eggs and it was delicious!! We enjoyed every bite of it!!

We also had a bowl of fresh cut yummy fruits!! And an absolute winner of a croissant!!! It was just so perfect!!!

Delicious breakfast! Restaurant is so cute and quaint, service was quick and fantastic!! My three boys loved their food and ate every bite. Cinnamon french toast was excellent and the chicken & waffles was AMAZING. You won't regret stopping here!

Went here from breakfast. Got the special coconut Belgium waffle, special fried rice, eggs Benedict and lemon French toast. Everything was delicious and well priced. The roasted season potatoes were so good. Bit of a wait, 30 min for breakfast for four people but worth the wait. And the staff were super friendly, attentive and answered all our questions. 90 minute time limit but did not feel rushed at all and the food came out really quickly

Strawberry shortcake was amazing, strawberries were so fresh. Staff was friendly and attentive, I’ll have to go back for breakfast.

This is my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant. I've been frequenting it for years, tried many items on the menu and I'm never disappointed. My friend and I shared the ham and cheese sandwich and the special waffle of the day, Cinnamon Roll. Both dishes were delicious. There is usually a line outside the restaurant and you sign in to get a table but there wasn't one so we went in and because it wasn't busy, there were many empty tables, and no wait staff around so we seated ourselves. That is a no-no! A server came to our table and abruptly and a bit rudely told us we shouldn't have done that perhaps the table hadn't been wiped clean (but our server assured us it had been). So be warned, always wait to be seated although there is no sign outside or inside the premises that asks you to wait to be seated.
