Maunakea Marketplace

Maunakea Marketplace is a small fascinating, tightly compressed market of Mom and Pop Chinese businesses clustered together in central Chinatown. There are clothing (T-shirt stores), restaurants, and gift vendors all neatly fused together into a small city block. But, it works. It's like entering a very small world of even more Chinese stores. It's a very small marketplace nestled and squeezed within the larger Chinatown complex. It's wonderful. Please check it out. There are three entryways / exits to and from this small vibrant market. But, be vigilant. It's very easy to bypass this remarkable market.

The selection of food was amazing from poke to Adobe chicken we followed our walking guide TJ from Hawaiian Food Tour off the beaten path, we sampled foods from these vendors and went downstairs to sample fruits I had never tried before. Great place to find good selection. They are working on adding more vendors which will only improve your selection. Enjoy!

Great spot to sample all types of Asian food.

If you are in Honolulu I would highly suggest you stop by this market. A lot of the items that you find in Waikiki will be here for a much better price. The people here are very friendly and have a ton of advice of places to visit. If you love interacting with locals, stop by.

Great place to grab an authentic meal.

This place is great!! The thai food, Vietnamese food, dim sum, and especially all the fresh produce, meat, and fish selections.

I have been looking for small hair combs for thin hair and no one sells no one them but at the marketplace I found what I was looking for and the price was great sometimes you find what you need at the most unexpected places keep this place the marketplace it gives good value for your money

What impresses me most is the free worship of Budda Guanying inside Maunakea Marketplace. Scents are freely provided with an available lighter, which well displays the philanthropism of Buddhism.

Fruits and vegetables locally sourced. Great prices and you wouldn't believe the sizes and quality of the items. You can't go wrong.

There was a nice variety of Asian foods. I got a one choice combo at one of the Pinoy vendors that hit the spot. ~$5 to be nice and full!

I definitely want to go back at a better time. I had gone right before closing.

There’s also little shops for household items.

Located in the Chinatown. You can get vegetables and even cooked food here. There is a food court inside serving mostly Asian food. There is also a status of goddess Guan Yin behind the market and a clock tower with Chinese characters at the same spot.

We went their around 1-3 PM, the market is not crowd and we bought some Hawaiian couple clothes, negotiate with the sale lady, she was friendly and provide the price not too bad. It was nice and fits on both of us. I didn’t have chance to try the food yet because it look good to me. Definitely will try next time if we still come back on the next vacation trip.

It was very good get all kind shops from antiques to fruits and vegetables to mom and pops food and all kind Asian made stuffs a d then some lol I was looking for a shop too change my watch ⌚ battery there's a shop across the police station at the corner very fast good service all kind jewelry from jade too gold very resinable prices go check um out Aloha.... ?

Fun place to walk around and by fruits vegetables, clothes and more

I was brought here by the Hawaii Food Tour - Off The Beaten Path, and was not disappointed! If you love Asian food, REAL Asian food, cooked by locals for locals (although all are welcome), you have to come here! It is counter after counter of the best prepared dishes from many countries of the glorious East. When you're ready, go down 3-4 stairs and it's a fantastic produce market with all the tropical fresh fruit currently in season. Amazing experience, truly. I will come back here every single time I come to Oahu.

Best place to buy fresh Fish, Meat, noodles and cooking ingredients. My favorite place to shop!
