Avis Honolulu was my first rental experience and they really made me feel comfortable! Very easy check in and check out and everyone was so friendly. I appreciated being upgraded to a larger car through AMEX. I drive a Mazda at home so it made my trip very enjoyable as I was familiar with how to operate everything. Thank you!

Rented a ‘mystery car’ with Avis for 12 days in Honolulu. Great price relative to other companies. We were happy we didn’t have to wait in long line ups to receive our car on arrival like some other rental companies. We ended up with a 5.0litre mustang. The check in and out process was seamless. Would recommend based our our experience.

Staff upon pick up and drop off were helpful, friendly and accommodating! And my car was clean and I had no issues. Thanks Avis for continually and consistently having top notch service!

We recently rented a vehicle from Avis at the Honolulu airport and we’re very happy with their service and our rental. Our flight was delayed a day and there was no issue with our reservation because Avis will automatically hold reservations for 24hrs beyond the original pick up time. And once we arrived, they upgraded us to a new Jeep Wagoneer which was a beautiful vehicle to drive. The only caution with that size car is parking garage heights because the vehicle has an adjustable air suspension. Its height lowers to allow passengers to get in and out of the vehicle then rises when in motion. Parking is at a premium in Honolulu so if you happen to rent a Wagoneer, you may want to consider outside parking as much as possible.

Overall, very pleased with Avis.

Another time, Avis didn’t disappoint. I reserved a Jetta or similar and got a Dodge Charger which was perfectly fine. For the first time at Avis I didn’t receive a brand new car, the Charger was from 2018 (I guess). Still in good shape and everything went smooth. I am glad I registered for Avis Preferred before as I could directly pick up the car, even without checking in with an agent. As soon as I arrived at the airport I got messaged where to pick up my car. Very convenient. Return was the same, just put the car in park and left. Easy.

Rental facility is conveniently located across the road from the airport, so you don’t have to take shuttle anywhere. All is clean and easy to find. I mostly travel with Avis and this time wasn’t an exception. But the service I got there was a bit off. I was told I got an “upgrade” from full size to something better. That “better” was compact slightly bitten compact suv with a broken keyless access so I had to actually use the key to open/close the door. Also backseat passenger light wasn’t working. They called it “upgrade” 🤷🏻‍♂ I wonder what would I have got if there hadn’t been an upgrade 😁

Decided against the convertible and Keone at the desk made it easy to switch vehicles. He went the extra mile looking for the best discounted deal for us. When picking up the vehicle it had some warning lights that concerned me and was again easy to get into a different one. Finally drop of was friendly quick and efficient (got my receipt printed out as well). Overall staff was personable and knowledgeable. Thanks again all!

Wow, this was the fastest and most seamless car rental service I have ever had!!

I booked my rental through Costco (for the best dealsss) the night before, arrived at the HNL airport CONRAC area (around 3:20PM) with all the car rental companies, walked past the AVIS room full of customers without reservations, and went up the escalator to the AVIS preferred counter on level 4. I told the agent my name, gave him my driver’s license and credit card, then he told me the location of my rental car.

And… that was literally it!! I walked to my unlocked car with the key inside, and got a text with a link to the exit QR code which I used to scan to get out of the lot (there is also someone there to assist who was very nice).

The whole thing felt like it took a minute! The car was also clean and exactly as described! I have no qualms and would definitely rent again from AVIS! 10/10 Highly recommend!

I rent a car once a week at HNL. I recently changed from Enterprise to Avis. Avis has a better Preferred customer program than Enterprise. MORE IMPORTANTLY, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE AVIS HNL STAFF. Especially to the young lady yesterday. I always plan for delays since I have to be on time for appointments. For the 1st time in 11 rentals, my car was not ready and the young lady at the Preferred desk had me taken care of without delay. Thank u very much

I’ve rented from here several times and everything is always seamless. It’s an easy walk from the terminal. My car is always ready and there is no queue. I’m out in about 5 minutes - exactly what I want! Returns are just as easy. I’ve only rented from Avis at HNL and don’t see any reason I would change / they are great.

I rented a Jeep Wrangler, pre-paid and the price was less than competitors small cars. I expected a base model Wrangler. Pick-up on Christmas Eve in Honolulu took less than 10 minutes. A loaded Jeep Rubicon! Rode well with good mileage. Return on January 1 took less than two minutes! If you want hassle free and competitive rentals, Avis should be your first and only choice!

Avis was professional across the board. Our car displayed an "Error malfunction" message. It never left us stranded, yet we took it back ASAP and it was replaced w/o delays or filing reports during a critical high volume holiday weekend. Greatly appreciated.

Big mahalo to Brandon M., the Operations Manager at Avis/Budget. Despite his role typically not involving direct customer assistance, Brandon was right there supporting his team during a busy period. I visited to request an upgrade for my Chevy Spark, needing extra trunk space for luggage. With only two days left in my trip, Brandon kindly upgraded my rental to a Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor ( Ferrari red🏎) turning my Hawaii experience into an unforgettable one. A heartfelt thank you to Brandon and the entire Avis team for your exceptional service and for going above and beyond!

This was a piece of cake rental. The priority pick up area at Honolulu airportfor Avis is a quick no brainer. A quick shuttle ride, an elevator to the 4th floor, grab your keys and go

We rented a Tesla and loved it. We took a quick driving lesson with our friend back home, so there would be no surprises.

We drove all over Oahu and never once worried about running out of charge. An added bonus was our resort (Aulani) had PLENTY of chargers and charging was free. I’m not sure how long that will last.

All Avis asked is that we return the car at least 70% charged. Lower than that we would be charged 35 bucks. With car charged to 86% at Aulani, driving 65 and with the AC cranked, we returned the car with 78%

We would not hesitate to rent from Avis or rent an electric car the next time. 9 days, not a dime spent on gas or electric and a great ride

Honolulu AVIS is full of wonderful staff and vehicles that fill the reservations as reserved! Never any surprises or unprofessional service at pick-up or drop-off. I have used the Honolulu location three times in the last year and half. Each rental was exceptional and staff always there to assist if needed. The BEST 🌺

Quick, easy simple process really enjoyed newer vehicles too for late arrival when others were fully unavailable with their bookings. AVIS saved the day with our time zone change & late arrival to Hawaii!
