South Shore Grill

Found this little gem by doing a google search. It did not disappoint. There were two of us and we both got the 2 Ono fish taco plate. We each got one, that was a LOT of food! One order would have been for the two of us. There tacos were great, coleslaw had a different taste, but I’m not from Hawaii so maybe they make it different here. And the fries were done just right. And you have to get a macadamia nut cookie…. So good.

As an FYI, seating is limited and tight, so don’t have big expectations for that.

This is a great food stop. All the burritos are great, but my favorite is the shrimp. The garlic butter fries are a must. The Cajun fries are good, if you like a sweet twang with your spice. I usually bought more than one burrito per trip; one for right now, and another for later. I highly encourage you to order ahead, they can get very busy and you may have to wait a bit (only reason for 4-stars). The staff are very friendly, and don't mind taking the time to explain the menu if you're trying something for the first time. Can't wait for my next Hawaii trip, and another South Shore Grill burrito.

I gave an overall 5 stars because the staff is really great.
We had Surf and Turf, plus a Cajun shrimp
Taco, and lemon jello cake. The kalbi was delicious. Bbq chicken was very good. The slaw, tacos and rice were rather bland. Fortunately there was salsa and hot sauce (+ salt) to pep it up. The lemon jello cake was recommended and did not disappoint. I do wonder what the pumpkin crunch tasted like! The decor could be a bit less spare!

We drove past this place while heading to the Diamond Head Crater. I had the Grilled Ono Fish plate with pesto and it was delicious. The lemon cake is also very good. They also had Kefir water which tastes similar to kombucha if you like that sort of drinks.

Freshly cooked and healthy burritos! The veggies are crunchy too. One of the best in the island seriously. Tried Chicken BBQ Burrito which is sooooo good! 5/5. Cajun Fish is good as well. 12.50 each and free water available.

The place is small with limited seating. Other than that, the place is cozy and low key. Staff is knowledgeable about the menu, has great recommendations and modifications available. Best fish taco in Waikiki confirmed! Great drink choices too and the food tastes incredible, a must visit for fish lovers.

Delicious food in an unassuming venue. The fish tacos were amazing and so were the pork and chicken plates. Not much dine-in space or anything approaching a view, but if you're looking for good food then this is the right stop.

The tacos are indeed awesome! I had one Ono fish and one Steak taco with Cajun fries and tuna Mac. Loved it all. The staff was very friendly. It is a smaller place seating wise but definitely enough room. Worth visiting.

A must in Hawaii!!! I swear by the fish tacos! Hands down best taco in the world and I travel! We came back jus to eat the fish tacos!!!!! The aioli sauce hits!!!! And the best Mac salad ever!!!!!! I love it here, they treat us like family. Aloha, mahalo 🤙🏽

The surf and turf plate was the best. You can choose from either ono, garlic shrimp, kalbi, and bbq chicken. So worth the wait. Great spot for food near diamond head

I lived on the Island 13 years ago and would come here frequently. It was incredibly satisfying having lunch here today and everything tasting the same as it did so many years ago. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much! 🌺🤙🏻

This place is great. My only suggestion would be to hire someone to make fresh tortillas. This was a taco with A+ filling on an F grade stale walmart tortilla. Still an amazing place so I'm giving 5 stars. Living in AZ, I'm spoiled with fresh handmade tortillas. That would really pair well with these already great insides.

Super sweet crew, and insanely tasty tacos/burritos!
We got some tacos while we were there, and took burritos with us to Diamond Head. Highly recommend the BBQ chicken thighs, and the kal-bi beef. The fish tacos are also very good, but the flavor was more punchy with the chicken and beef.

Their cookies are also delicious, def worth a wait if you see a bit of a line. We lucked out both time we went, but it can fill up fast!

Great food, the fish tacos are fantastic. Also recommend the Cajun shrimp burritos and tuna mac. Good kids menu. All well priced. Clean toilets, only a small seating area.

One of my favorite places to eat in Oahu! No frills surf shack style place with delicious food. Their fish tacos are amazing and the plate meals have generous portions at a decent price. Super fast service with very friendly staff. Enjoy!

We had fabulous recommendations about what to order and even what to do after lunch. Our tacos were amazing!! We ordered chicken and shrimp tacos. The gentleman that helped us was super sweet to our kids and really took pride in this small business. If we lived here, we would be back every week.

I love this place! I’ll start at my hotel, do Diamond Head and get some tacos as a reward.

These is just a great plate lunch place. Grab a Mexican coke and a plate lunch and enjoy. The best part: there’s a plate to try it all!! The tacos are my favorite but the chicken is also very good.

Excellent fresh off the boat tacos! Seriously hard to find fresher fish at a great price. The Mac nut pesto sounded really good as a side too. I’m gonna go back later and get some to bring home to put on pasta.

One of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had the food was off the charts, staff was very friendly and helpful when it came to choosing what we wanted. Definitely worth making your way down to south shore grill you won’t regret it! Got 2 fish tacos, 2 shrimp tacos, and 2 Cajun chicken tacos, and chips and salsa that were WAAAYYYY better than expected!

Nothing but good things to say about South Shore Grill. Every time I am in Hawaii, I make sure to get some of their wonderful food. My favorite are their Fish Tacos. They are delicious but everything on the menu is delicious. It is a nice, family run establishment. They are very nice. Come hungry when you go there. The portion sizes are good.
