Kono's Northshore - Honolulu

Super chill surfer vibe! Reggae music in the speakers, Surf Competitions on the TV, and most importantly amazing Aloha from the workers. Breakfast burritos here are called Bombers and I can only assume that is because they are literally the bomb. Tasted amazing and packed full of flavor. Can’t wait to come back. This place was definitely a top spot for me!

Found this place when we walked past Lenard's bakery. I had the BBQ pork Bomber wrap, which was very good, plenty of pork and great flavour. My partner had the lox bagel, which was also very good, next time she will add avocado for that extra taste. Drinks were also excellent, we had two smoothies - sunrise and lava, very delicious. Service was very good, food and drinks were excellent. Would definitely recommend.

This place had the best sandwich I had in Honolulu! I ordered old school and shared with my husband because we were not so hungry. But it was so delicious that we came back and ordered another one. You will not regret! Plus the customer service was amazing, people are friendly. I 100% recommend this place and I’m looking forward to come back.

The most delicious sandwiches! The meat melt in your mouth, the bun is very crispy and delicious, and sauces go well with meat!
The service is wonderful and very attentive. It feels like personal love their workplace and care about their customers. Highly recommend this place, great food and great atmosphere, try the Old School sandwich.

The girl behind the counter was awesome. Hawaiian kindness you always hear about in full swing. I got some pork tacos and a burrito and they were fantastic. She offered some hot habinero sauce when I said I like hot food. It was not that hot but great flavor. Plus this location you can grab leonards for desert.

Food is great! Service is amazing! Team is so friendly and welcoming! Food is always on point! Everything is amazing especially the guava bbq sauce. Andrew and Team Kapahulu are the best!

Awesome food for take out. Great service with a smile. Parking around the side, kind of limited. Prices were good for amount you get. If you don't like big wraps try ask for kid size.

Kono’s is one of my absolute favorite food places. The people that work there are so friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious. I recommend literally any of the bombers but also the biscuit sliders with gravy. Loved it enough to join the tattoo crew!

Kono’s is an excellent choice for lunch. I got the barbecue pork sandwich which was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The lemonade was made right in front of me and was easily the best I’ve had in years. Service was quick and the staff friendly. I recommend Kono’s.

Awesome must try food joint. Blown away by the slow roasted pork 🐖👍 had the old school, breakfast burrito and a lava milkshake. My oh my an explosion of flavours for my tastebuds. The service was great too.

The succulent pulled pork was excellent. The fries was one of the best.
If you drive, beware that there's parking at the back of the building. Thou shalt not park at the parking lot of the neighbouring Leonard's Bakery.

Food:
Old School sandwich comes with kalua pig, guava bbq, grilled onion and slaw. The chips that comes with the sandwich is beyond amazing. The kalua is very juicy and soaks the bread. Be prepared to get messy.

Pork plate comes with rice kalua pig, salad, guava bbq, and papaya seed dressing. The pineapple slices are great too.

Service:
The cashier and cook were pretty cool. They gave us tips on what to get at Kono.

Amenities:
Hot sauce. Their harbenro is delicious and so is the pineapple sauce.

Ambience:
Plenty of seats. There is more seats inside too.

I was met with a smile and music with the perfect vibes as soon as I walked through the door! The man at the counter was wonderful at helping me navigate the menu as I’ve been to the north shore location a few times but wanted to try something different. After going back and forth on a few options we eventually landed on the Hawaiian bowl. The pork was cooked to perfection and the slaw gave it the fresh crisp bite that worked perfectly to accompany the sweetness from the guava bbq sauce. I can’t wait to visit this location again! 10/10.

It was the best meal during my Hawaii trip!!! Pork was very soft and delicious, and the overall balance of source was awesome!! Also happy for kind servers :)

I came in 2020 of march and ABSOLUTELY loved my experience i will forever remember how good my meal was and how much i loved the shop and the cute mug i got! Forever hope to come back and eat here again

We've been in town 6 days, and unfortunately didn't try out Kona's until our last night here. Absolutely amazing experience - sure the food was exceptional (best pork and shakes we've had in Hawaii!), but the staff really set the place apart. They were super friendly, went out of their way for us on several fronts. We loved it so much we immediately put in an advance breakfast order for our way to the airport, and loaded up in merchandise :) Not sure that my marketing on their behalf will be particularly effective in the Midwest, but I'm damn sure going to try!

Long story short - go!!

The pulled pork was savory and not dry at all. Very good.
