What a fun catamaran experience! We did the snorkel trip out to turtle canyon and had such an amazing time. Saw plenty of sea turtles, fish and even got to see dolphins once we were sailing! We also did the sunset cruise, which was a blast. The crew members are so friendly and professional. Shout out to Brody, Mitchell, Chase, and the other crew, you guys were so awesome! Thanks for making our trip so memorable and fun.

We had the best time with the holokai crew! The staff were all super friendly, professional, and helpful.
We lucked out and ended up on a tour with only 5 people aboard. Made for such a fun experience!! We swam with turtles, dolphins, and jumped off the ship a couple times.
We’ve already recommended them to so many friends.

Holokai Catamaran Sunset Cruise Review

An Unforgettable Sunset Cruise on Holokai Catamaran on Waikiki Beach

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a canvas of fiery oranges and serene purples, setting the stage for an evening aboard the Holokai Catamaran that I would never forget. The gentle sway of the waves, the soft strumming of island music, and the laughter of fellow adventurers filled the air, creating an ambiance of pure relaxation and joy.

The cruise promised unlimited alcohol, and it delivered. With a drink in hand, I watched as the coastline of Waikiki Beach became a silhouette against the twilight sky. The bartenders, masters of their craft, ensured our glasses were never empty, serving a variety of tropical concoctions that added an extra layer of bliss to the experience.

But it wasn’t just the drinks that made this cruise unforgettable—it was the spirit of aloha that permeated every moment. The crew, with their warm smiles and genuine kindness, made us feel like ohana from the moment we stepped on board. They shared stories of the sea, pointed out landmarks along the shore, and even helped us spot a pod of dolphins dancing in the distance

Excellent experience. The crew of the boat was helpful and friendly. They were also able to read the crowd and make the trip fun for everyone. We went for the fireworks show and it was fantastic!

We took the fireworks cruise on our last night in Waikiki and it capped off our trip perfectly. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and genuinely wanted everyone to have a great time (which we all did!). Best experience at a fireworks show I have ever had.

Great experience! The crew was great. The open bar is nice.

Nothing like enjoying the sunset on a boat, with a drink, and with good company.

I only wish the meeting point was at the exact spot on the shore instead of meeting in a hotel and walking a couple minutes to the boat

We took part in the Turtle Canyon Adventure Sail which was great. We were part of quite a small group (less than 15) which was nice as there was plenty of room to move on board. The crew were all very friendly with great banter and great knowledge. They knew where the turtles were and would have us in the right spots at the right time. Drinks were very very affordable on board which was a great bonus. The crew even dropped a very unwell passenger back to shore mid tour which was a lovely gesture. Would recommend.

Had such an amazing great experience! The crew was great. Mitch, Mark and Brody "scubba Daddy" were great. Just seeing Brody dive down to the ocean floor and bring up a sea urchin and sea cucumber and got to hold them. We saw several of the sea tutrles 🐢 and Fish. All around a fantastic time and recommend these folks for your Turtle experience

The sunset sail was fantastic. The unlimited drinks did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in the crew were welcoming and truly happy to be there. We met some great people and it felt like a party cruise with friends you've known for ages. We even had some surprise humpback whale guests show up! Thank you for the wonderful last evening in Hawaii.

Had a great time. Seats but easy to walk around the boat for photos. Plenty of non-alcoholic options, and the crew were really sweet to help my mom on and off as she has some mobility problems. Lovey views and comfortable.

We love Catamarans! We were on the Holokai Catamaran for a Sunset Cruise in 2017... So, thrilled to go back on your Sunset Cruise again in 2023! It was So Very Fantabulous! Loved every moment of the cruise tonight, 08.26.23! We will do it again & again & again. Love the Captain & his Shipmate. The Whole Experience Speaks for Itself. We definitely recommend this excursion again!

Very fun experience. Went on the sunset ride - I recommend checking the cloudiness/visibility for the evening you want to ride. There a a ton of beautiful sunsets in Waikiki but sometimes the sun hides behind the clouds. The sunset ride is open bar and the pours were great! Check the website for discounts too.

The crew was friendly and skilled. The views are truly captivating. As the sun bathes Diamond Head and the resort lights begin to shine it is hard to turn and see the sun set over the water, but it's worth the glimpse.

I had the most incredible experience on the Holokai sunset catamaran in Waikiki. The moment we set sail, the crew made us feel welcome and ensured our safety throughout the journey. The views of the sunset were simply breathtaking, with the vibrant colors reflecting on the water, creating a mesmerizing sight. The catamaran ride was smooth and comfortable, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the Hawaiian coastline. The crew's hospitality and knowledge added an extra touch to the trip, making it both enjoyable and informative. If you're in Waikiki and looking for a memorable sunset adventure, Holokai is the perfect choice!

What a magical experience. I attended the turtle snorkeling tour while on vacation. The guides were awesome! This was my first time snorkeling ever. I couldn’t believe I was so close, but not too close, to sea turtles in the ocean. The views were amazing under water and on the sailing portion of the tour. I wish I owned a go pro or something so I could capture the beauty of the sea below. They also had a large variety of snacks on the catamaran as well. It is definitely worth every dollar to go on this experience!

We had a great time at the turtle canyon morning snorkel tour. The crew was super friendly and helpful and it was very safe, even you had never snorkeled before you could enjoy this. We saw half a dozen different turtles, surfacing and all. Awesome experience.

We found this cruise after looking for a sunset cruise that had an open bar with great reviews. We actually booked this cruise online on their website the same day and there was still availability. For the sunset cruise, you check in at 4:30pm at their storefront in the outdoor mall. It is on the second floor and there is a little stand outside their doors to check in. The employee was friendly and checked off our name and instructed us to wait in the area until they were ready to walk over. They also validate your parking at this time if needed. However we were staying in Waikiki so it was only about a 10 minute walk for us. At about 4:45pm we all paraded together with 2 employees over to board the catamaran, it was probably a 5 minute walk through the mall and across the street to the beach. There were around 40 of us in the group. However once we boarded the boat there was enough room for everyone to spread out. The catamaran was beached outside the outrigger reef hotel waiting for us and the other 2 crew members helped us walk up the steps. It is a barefoot boat so you take off your shoes before your board. Once onboard, there are some cubbies by the seats that you can put your things in. It was fun passing by the surfers as we headed out. The bartender/crewmate was super friendly and gave out good vibes. The captain was also friendly and took song requests to play over the speakers. They had 3 different kona beers, bud light, some wine, a champagne, sodas, and then the premade drink which was like a rum and pineapple orange guave juice (POG juice). We set sail exactly at 5pm. Once everyone had their first round, the 2 crew members hoisted the sails and we were off. You can move around however you like. There is a lot of seating in the middle of the boat. Most people stood along the rails on the side. There are two nets up front that you can sit in, however you do get splashed quite a bit up there. You can also sit/stand at the back of the boat where the stairs are, which is where they recommended you sit if you get sea sick/motion sick. You sail up and down the coastline of Waikiki. You get great views of the beaches, hotels, and Diamond Head. The vibes are great with the music playing, the sun setting, the windy blowing, the views, and the drinks. The day we went was quite windy so the ocean was very choppy on the way out as we were going against the wind. You definitely had to hold onto the rails if you were standing up or walking to get another drink. A few people did get sea sick, but the crewmate was extremely helpful and gave them water, told them to sit out the back, and offered them lavender oil to sniff. He also was able to wash the deck if needed. He also checked on them throughout to make sure they were okay. If you prone to any kind of sea sickness, I would not recommend this trip unfortunately, as it is just the nature of the beast of a catamaran on the ocean. Tipping is at your discretion since it is open bar. On our cruise the Kona IPA ran out super quick, so if you are interested be sure to get yours in the first half of the sailing. Exactly at 5:45pm we turned around and headed back, this was a little bit smoother as we were now going with the wind. We got to see the sun set around 6pm ish, and then we headed back along the coastline to where we started. It was cool to see the night lights starting to come on in the city. We arrived back exactly at 6:30pm, so it was exactly 90 minutes that we were sailing. The crew helped us off the boat back onto the beach, and we were set free there. Most everyone walked to the showers to rinse off their feet. Overall I would recommend this excursion as it is one of the only sunset cruises with an open bar, and one that lasted the longest at 90 minutes. Sure it is a little pricey for what it is, but it is in line with similar excursions in the area. The crew was very friendly and welcoming and it was a neat experience to be sailing on the ocean for a beautiful sunset and a beautiful night.
