WOW! This place is awesome. We came around 5:30 pm so their plate lunches were done for the day and so were the smoothies but the staff were incredible and very generous. They let us sample quite a few manapua and they were the best I’ve ever had. They had tons of flavors and they’re deep fried to order. I will definitely keep coming back here, and added perk: they give all their leftovers to the homeless at the end of the day. Such a sweet business!

We weren’t sure how it would be when we turned up, as the area was a little run down. However, we loved loved loved our experience here! The owner is the sweetest and has the biggest heart. He kept giving us manapua to taste, not expecting us to pay. We tried both the steamed and fried ones, all different flavours. Loved them all. And their dim sum were the best I’ve ever had! I paid anyway so he could use that money to feed the homeless which he does once a week ❤ highly recommend!

The mouth-watering smell of fresh Asian food hits you like a warm breeze as you enter the store. I highly recommend the steam buns, especially if you want a delicious affordable and filling take-along food. We got five to take to the airport and all were great but I especially liked the garlic chicken, (savory) and purple yam (sweet). The people were super nice, too. You can feel the true aloha spirit dining here.

Stopped by here on a whim after a (disappointing) Skyline ride, highlight of my layover!

Unko Steve is a generous man, we almost got full just from the samples alone!

Highly recommend any of the savory, fried manupuas.

The pork hashs are dimsum restaurant-quality!

Stopped in Hawaiian Kitchen since I needed a quick bite from airport to hotel. This place is no joke, it is seriously good! I highly recommend their signature manapua filled buns. I tried the fried garlic chicken bun and it was amazing. Service is also exceptional, it is family run and everyone is extremely outgoing and kind... eager to give back to the community or even the passing tourist! If you find yourself on this part of the island, I would try out Honolulu Kitchen

Had been there only once before but both times were good. First time we ordered and i didnt know how much smaller the manapuas were compared to libbys or chun wah kam so we only ordered a small amount, approx 6. Now we know better. Each manapua is about the size of a computer mouse. So its easy to mix and match to get a taste of all the savory and dessert flavors that you want to try. I got lilikoi, haupia, and ube and all were fried…. So ono! My ohana got the garlic chicken (steamed…my sons fav), the cream cheese crab, kalua pig, oreo, and char siu. Try it steamed or fried, both are good. Cant forget the rice cake. They also have musubis, bentos, and plate lunch food. They’re open til 6 but the plate lunch section closes at 3ish so plan accordingly. If in doubt, call. Customer service is super nice! Very helpful and explained the options but very busy too so they gotta work fast. In the same room but the other side is a smoothy drink place, in summer time try the watermelon, so refreshing. Will definitely be goin back. Take on a plane or take to the beach kine grindz. Highly recommend.

Uncle Steve is just the sweetest! Very friendly and willing to answer any questions you might have. Such a passionate man.

Now about their famous manapuas… deep fried and steamed baos! Baos is what we call it on the mainland or Cantonese. They suggest you come in to see their flavor list for the day since it changes every day and they sell out of some.

All manapuas are steamed or fried by the order so expect to wait up to 12 minutes for your order. That’s how it comes out so hot and crispy 🤤 just perfect. We only ordered fried manapuas and our favorites were the guava, pastele, char siu, and ube. If you don’t see a flavor on the list, just ask them!

We also ordered their pork hash which we call shu mai, they sell it by the piece or it also comes in their bento box lunch special.

They do have a credit card charge so bring CASH!

Return review. Still outstanding food and service having not visited in 5 years due to Covid. The dining area is closed, but the food take out is very good. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Owner and staff are very friendly and helpful picking out items on the menu. Pictures are updated m

The manapuas (both fried and steamed) are so delicious! They are basically palm-sized balls of dough with pork inside (that comes in all different flavors). The owner was so friendly and cheerful he made our day, besides giving us free samples to boot. Definitely stop off at this fun little place for lunch, you won't regret it! (Note: there isn't actually seating inside but you can stand at a little counter at the window and enjoy your manapuas like we did)

They've got great mini manapua here! Perfect in size and not mostly bread like some places. Most were made to order so I got the steamed char siu since I was in a rush. Got some for some out of town friends and they loved them! They also had a wide variety of dishes and bentos too. Something for everyone here! Staff was super friendly which is always a plus!

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick snack on our way to Honolulu. We were received with such kindness. Jupiter helped us decide what to order (we are new to Hawaiian cuisine) and even threw in some samples for us to try. We ended up getting different flavors of manapua, spam musubi, pork hash, and sesame seed custard. The food was spectacular! Thank you so much for your warmth, kindness, and delicious food!

We were introduced to Honolulu Kitchen through a school fundraiser. Although I usually go to another shop in Aiea, our family will stop by every time we're in Waipahu...I'm thinking of starting to go to Waipahu DonQ just to stop by more!

I've never had a fried manapua before and wasn't sure what to expect. Ended up with a crab and cream cheese, kalbi chicken, pizza, and custard one along with some pork hash. Think of a fresh, crispy andagi with manapua stuffing inside - delicious!

I don't know how long they've been open but it's a fresh (for me) take on manapuas. Love how many different flavors there are and look forward to trying some bentos.

The staff are nice (above and beyond to my daughters) and to top things off...I learned they provided free meals for homeless during the pandemic. I love supporting local businesses like these and look forward to telling others about them.

I never leave reviews but ran to commend this place. Unbelievably good. Loved everything from the kitchen and the prices were out of this world for the amount of food you get. Also enjoyed the ice cream and smoothies too! Don’t skip this place !!!

Went around 11 wasn’t to bad but had to wait about 10 mins. Really great selection of mana pua and I love the baked charsiu it’s so sweet on the outside and nice and salt inside! My wife got a million different fried ones and the guy that helped me was nice enough to label them. A must try when on this side.

If you were less than 50 miles away and didn’t eat here you failed in life. This guy is amazing just call him and say how many people you want to feed. I liked the food. It’s delicious.

11/18/2021 It's been a long time since I had takeout from here. Missed this place! Today I had half Char siu fried rice, half Chow fun, with Chicken zucchini and mushrooms and Long beans with pork. So delicious and the long beans had the right amount of crunch that I like! I can make 3 meals out of one plate since it's packed and heavy! Hubby had Minute chicken, Szechuan pork and eggplant with Chow mein. He also bought fried chicken skin. Super crispy and fresh! I love Honolulu Kitchen!

The owner is super friendly & the employees are quick & helpful! One of my favorite places & they give a lot. The fried fish, spam & egg fried rice, and eggplant & pork are awesome! Fried dessert manapua and regular manapuas are also delicious.
