Island Movers

Island Movers helped with my move during the last two Saturdays. Once, they delivered furniture from a store and once they moved furniture from a small, tight, dirty apartment into a larger home. The crews are amazing. One worker told me it's important for them to be respectful, and it shows. Even when they show up to a site and it isn't ideal, they find solutions to overcome obstacles. They maintain their professionalism throughout the process.

HUGE thank you also to Chantelle La'a and Christine Yamaguchi. When I needed help to meet my crazy goals, they really made it happen. After everything, the cost of my move was much less than I had thought - more than fair for all the work that was accomplished.

Awesome moving service! I can't believe how quick they were at moving all of our stuff! They told me it would take 2 days to move all of our stuff after the inspection and they did it all in 1 day. Really friendly and very respectful staff. Thank you all so much for your help during this stressful time in my life!
Update: We received all of our stuff and everything was so nicely packed that nothing was broken. We were so worried because on our way to the island we had a few things broken.

Rue and Lawrence came on time to remove my old refrigerator and to deliver a 20 cu. Ft. refrigerator from Costco. They were no easy tasks. My house is in the old section of town and has small doors. They took great care and huge effort to get it in the house. Their professionalism and expertise were astounding! They had to take off the screen, the door as well as the fridge/freezer doors. Then, put everything back flawlessly. They knew exactly how to navigate even though there was a big fridge between them. The are friendly and wonderful people. Thank you so much! You both are amazing! Your effort is much appreciated!

I had two guys deliver a new refrigerator (Hilo side) today. They both were very nice & respectful of my home. They answered all my questions & explained how to use certain things on the refrigerator. I appreciated their help & would use this company again anytime. Also with them it’s the 4 hour time frame and they got there within the first hour which was nice, not a day filled with waiting.

First time ever using any type of moving company outside of the military and they were amazing. Very responsive when you call the office, fast replies to emails, and very nice and professional workers. I’d recommend this to any and everybody i know here who is thinking about moving. They made everything stress free, fast, and easy

Ignorance was bliss when Home Depot hired another local third party company to install our new dryer in our home. The red flag should have been when the "head installation manager" of that company told us to leave a good review for them online for their services. Before they left they told us that our circuit breaker was broken and not to use the new dryer until an electrician came, or we could be liable for damages. Well an electrician came and said our circuit breaker was fine! Our new dryer was leaking water, destroying our clothes from extra long dry times, and just wreaking havoc. Something you would expect from an old dryer not a new one... Then I requested that Home Depot send Island Movers. What a difference between the two companies! Not just in professionalism and accountability, but just the simplicity of one doing their job and doing it correctly. When Island Movers installed the new dryer, the same model as our previous dryer, they noticed that our drain hose (that was included with the manual) was not installed AT ALL by the previous company! They even knew to turn off our circuit breaker before hand, hence showing they read the manual, which the other company did not do. They even went the extra mile to show us that our dryer's power cord outlet was set up wrong and showed us how to zip tie it so it would prevent future damage to the cord. When they were done, they taped easy start instructions on the dryer for our first use. They of course checked the heat and the dryer's functionality before they left. They then thanked us afterwards and never once asked us to leave a review. But I had to!
It seems like these days that accountability and to ask people to do their job, is asking for too much. When you come across people that truly appreciate their job and enjoy what they are doing, it shows in their service. Island Movers thank you for turning our unpleasant experience into a pleasant one. Thank you for doing your job and doing it well! We appreciate honest hardworking people such as your employees at Island Movers :)

Island Movers Hilo (Hawaii Island) were excellent. Setting up the delivery time was easy. Communication was exemplary, they made sure every step of the way that there was follow-through and that we knew what was going on. Lawrence and Ru's service was outstanding from beginning to end. They were careful, courteous and expert at their job. This company are an uplifting ray of professional sunshine during these challenging times - we highly recommend their service.

Just received my couch from Costco by Island Movers. We are very impressed! Received calls before delivery, brought all six HUGE boxes inside, opened everything, put the couches together, took the empty boxes and wrapping, all within 20 minutes!!!
Five stars all the way!!! I’d give ten stars if I could.

Purchased two large appliances with Home Depot and after my horrible experience with DSR and their inability and incompetence to complete the delivery/installation/hauling service (over the course of 4 months), and after canceling with DSR and scheduling an appointment with Island Movers for a couple days later, they came to the rescue and got the job done within 20 minutes .

Robert, Harry, and Christian were all so kind, communicative, and fun. They seemed like they enjoyed their job, despite the heavy moving and completely empathized with my experience with DSR. They even said they usually get a lot of angry customers from DSR that switch to their service and don't understand why the people at DSR can't seem to do their job right. They also did their very best to make sure the newly installed appliances were installed properly and were working well. We were even given clear instructions on how to continue to make sure it is working properly, and if not, to call Home Depot within 72 hours to get a new one delivered or to get someone to come by to repair it right away.

We had the absolute best experience from start to finish for moving our household furnishings into an ocean container including trucking to/from pier. They quoted quickly and laid out the plan, we employed a couple fabulous guys to help load the container from their packing division and the entire move was treated as a complete project. The container delivery, loading services and pick up was executed precisely to meet our limited timeline. We could not be more pleased. These guys need to be cloned...and given a pizza party!! Thanks, not an item was busted! My husband was correct when he declared, "these guys are pros!"

They delivered our new fridge from Costco and took the time to remove the doors off because it was too big for our entry door. They replaced the doors, connected the water and filter and made sure everything was working before they left. Excellent! Thanks so much guys.

Island Movers brought our furniture from the Honolulu Habor safely to our home. We’re very pleased with the service we received. They also came out to pick up the used boxes! Nice touch!

I had a great experience with Island Movers. I moved from a condo in Honolulu to the east coast. From my initial inquiry with Teresa, to the evaluation with Christine, to the packers John & William (who were incredibly fast!), to the billing with Brianne. Everything was easy, well communicated and handled with care.

Mike and Jones were the best movers!!! They really took care of us, and were very professional. we are so so thankful for them :)

Island Movers was very flexible with me as I dealt with a constantly changing schedule. Chantelle always readily available to help and super nice while doing it. The moving crew was great as well.

They made our move so easy. We didn’t get our keys until 430, so I was able to schedule the crew to arrive at 1230. They showed up with adequate supplies, trucks, and muscle. They worked hard and were careful with our things. We are almost completely unpacked, and it’s all in the same condition they picked it up in. I would definitely recommend them for your move.

Island Movers packed up and managed our big household move from Honolulu to Georgia this summer. They did a spectacular job from start to finish. We have lots of glass and marble items, including big, glass doors for some shelving units. Nothing broke, despite the long journey, due to the careful and competent manner in which all of the items were packed. The movers in Georgia who unpacked us told us that it was one of the best packing jobs they had ever seen. The estimator, Kristine, and the office staff could not have been more courteous and helpful in answering questions and in keeping me informed regarding the location of our items and the estimated date of arrival. Needless to say, Island Movers has my highest recommendation.

They are very nice and straight forward. I’m glad that they were able to help me out.

Efficient, friendly, safe....Adam and Remy delivered, unpacked, installed electrical cable, and installed and tested our Sears Electrolux Electric Clothes dryer. They removed broken dryer and packing materials.
